Purpose of the job

This role is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and driven individual to join the UK Youth Network Delivery Department. The Summer Jobs Programme is the largest programme in UK Youth’s portfolio. Funded until the end of 2026, the programme is currently operating in its second year. The purpose of this role is to identify and secure employment placements, including those that generate some income, for The Summer Jobs Programme as well as overseeing the employer journey from start to end. Working closely with the Summer Jobs Programme Manager, the Employer Engagement Manager has key input into the work experience aspect of the programme. 

The Summer Jobs Programme is a paid employment initiative running from July to September 2025 and 2026, supporting vulnerable young people in England and Wales. It aims to reduce youth violence and improve future engagement in education, training, and work by removing barriers to employment and offering structured, empowering opportunities. Young people begin with a one-week pre-employment training course, followed by a five-week job placement. Throughout, they’re supported by both a local youth worker and an employer-based supervisor to ensure they receive consistent guidance.

Funded by the Youth Endowment Fund and Youth Futures Foundation, the programme launched in 2024 with over 400 participants and has expanded in 2025. A built-in Randomised Control Trial (RCT) will assess its impact on youth violence and long-term outcomes. In 2026, the programme will grow further, completing a three-year period of delivery and investment aimed at driving long-term, evidence-based change.

Responsibilities and Person Specification:

The Head of Governance will lead the charity’s small Governance and Risk, and Facilities teams. They are responsible for governance, company secretarial, risk management, health and safety, safeguarding, information governance, procurement and contracts management, business continuity planning, and management of facilities and the charity's office and small portfolio of other properties.

The role would suit someone who enjoys a broad remit and working with colleagues across the charity, who can think around issues and implement pragmatic solutions. As the role has a wide remit, the ability to learn quickly will be key. Candidates will need senior level experience of charity governance, risk management and safeguarding, ideally working with adults at risk. We have an exciting new opportunity for a Governance Adviser to join our busy Governance team.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing high level secretariat support for the end to end cycle of meetings and activity within your allocated RBL committees, sub committees and UK and overseas subsidiaries. Working in a small and tight knit team, this role supports the wide range of activities forming the engine room of RBL’s corporate governance. About the role

As a GROW Trainee, you will play an essential role in delivering Shelter’s purpose to defend the right to a safe home in East London. Our GROW Trainee will learn how to provide advice and advocacy to people experiencing the housing emergency and work alongside a team of advisors, solicitors, support workers and managers who work together to give communities easier access to support and advice. The successful candidate will be given extensive training, support, and supervision to support them to achieve this. In recent years, violent crime involving children has increased. This is a tragedy. Every child is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment that exists to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We will achieve this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. A big part of the movement that we need to build is in the world of health. We need to inspire and connect with health leaders across Integrated Care Services (ICBs), Local Health Boards (LHBs), Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and other relevant parts of the system. We need to spread what works and make our country safer for some of our most vulnerable children. We are looking for someone to lead on making this happen.

We are making progress building the evidence of what works within and around health services to reduce violence. But the big risk is that nothing changes. That’s where you come in. First-hand knowledge of the system that supports highly vulnerable children, particularly those at risk of or involved in violence. This includes children with conditions such as conduct disorder, psychosis, substance use disorder, ADHD, developmental language disorder, and traumatic brain injury. You understand the barriers these children face and what it takes to get them the right support.

While it’s not a criterion, we are especially interested to hear from applicants who have lived experience of violence affecting young people.

Hybrid Working

The office is based in Central London. Those living in and around London are expected to be in the office a minimum of 2 days per week. About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead IRMO’s Education, Training and Employment (ETE) programme. You’ll manage a dedicated team and oversee a range of initiatives that support our community’s social, cultural and economic integration in the UK.

The ETE programme offers tailored English classes, one-to-one coaching, employability workshops, vocational training and mentoring. It also includes oversight of IRMO’s volunteer scheme, which is an integral part of service delivery and offers meaningful roles for volunteers across the programme. The Programme Manager will play a key role in developing and strengthening this area, and we are currently working towards the Investing in Volunteers quality mark.

These initiatives help people build the skills they need to access and progress in the UK labour market, while also increasing their civic and social participation.
