Cambridge Nightline is a confidential and anonymous listening service run by students, for students.  We have been providing peer-to-peer support to students at the University of Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin University for over 50 years.  We offer support via telephone and instant messaging (IM), and open at night when other support services are often closed.

Cambridge Nightline has recently appointed a Board of Trustees, and is working towards becoming a registered charity.  Our aim as Trustees is to provide oversight and guidance to the student Executive Committee, whilst supporting them as much as possible to continue to lead the direction of the service.

Role of Treasurer of the Board

The Treasurer of the Board of Trustees will take the lead at board level in assuming responsibility for the financial oversight of Cambridge Nightline.  You will work alongside the Board of Trustees and student Executive Committee in reviewing the organisation’s financial performance to ensure its finances are managed responsibly, in accordance with the objects of the organisation and with legal requirements.

The Treasurer of the Board will work closely with the Student Treasurer to oversee the budget and financial administration, and to ensure the sustainability of the organisation’s funding and reserves.  As Cambridge Nightline works towards becoming a registered charity, you will provide advice and guidance to the Board of Trustees to ensure financial compliance with charity law.

What Will You Do?

As Lead Grants and Foundations, you will:

• Fundraising strategy: Design and implement a comprehensive strategy for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding foundation, corporate, and government grant prospects.

Purpose: To secure funding for Youth Kaleidoscope by researching, writing and submitting high-quality grant and sponsorship proposals, and by tracking and reporting on grant applications and outcomes to ensure sustainability and growth.

Key Responsibilities

Grant & Sponsorship Proposals:

• Research funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, corporate sponsors, and statutory bodies. 

• Draft, tailor, and submit compelling grant and sponsorship proposals that align with Kaleidoscope mission and project needs. 

• Collaborate with relevant team members to gather data, impact stories, and supporting documents for applications. 

Grant Tracking & Reporting :

• Maintain an up-to-date log of all applications, deadlines, and outcomes. 

• Monitor the progress of applications and respond to funder queries as needed. 

• Prepare and submit timely progress and outcome reports to funders, ensuring compliance with grant conditions. 

• Analyse outcomes to inform future strategy and improve success rates. 

Additional Duties:

• Attend team meetings - 1 hour online on a fortnightly basis

• Contribute to the development of fundraising strategies and share insights on funding trends 

Essential Skills and Attributes

• Proven experience in grant writing, fundraising or bid writing (charity sector experience desirable). 

• High level of written and spoken English.

• Excellent research, writing, and editing skills with strong attention to detail. 

• Ability to interpret funding criteria and tailor proposals accordingly.

Play2Give is seeking a creative and organised Marketing and Communications Officer to lead the delivery of engaging digital content across its platforms as well as written press support including press releases and press engagement. This role is responsible for bringing the charity’s communications strategy to life through consistent, high-quality content that reflects its voice, values, and community impact.

You will support both the Marketing and Communications Lead, and the charity’s Director & Chair, in helping to grow audience engagement, increase visibility, and support campaigns - for example, our annual Christmas Sleigh2Give and Easter egg appeals.

What you will do

· Plan and deliver content across Play2Give’s social media platforms, ensuring consistency in tone,

· messaging, and visual identity.

· Create and publish engaging written and visual content that promotes events, campaigns, and

· community impact - including written press releases and articles for the charity website

· Under the guidance of the Marketing and Communications Lead, manage day-to-day activity across platforms, including drafting and scheduling posts, responding to comments and messages, and maintaining an active presence.

· Liaise with the charity’s Chair & Director, who also plays an active role in communications activities, and undertake tasks as required.

Main Responsibilities

• We are looking for an experienced lawyer to assist the organisation in overlooking projects, ensuring they are compliant with relevant and up to date legislation and regulations.

• The legal assistant will be responsible for making sure all contracts, legislations and documents are treated within correct legal standards. They are to make sure that all activities are being performed in line with contracts and the law. 

• The Legal Assistant will work closely with the HR department in overlooking the volunteer forms, legislations and documents. They should also assist the different departments within the organisation(Marketing, Funding, HR, Finance) in upholding the legal requirements needed to run the tasks that they do. 

• Provide written reports as and when required. To undertake additional duties as required for the role.
