Overall purpose
The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for developing, leading and implementing key aspects of our communications and engagement strategy. Your focus will be to maintain our high reputation and build engagement with key audiences – principally target public audiences, corporate partners, funders and supporters, volunteers, clients, and staff.
Bridging the gap between senior leadership and delivery, you will be a confident and strategic thinker, but remain excited by the challenge of getting stuck in. You will be comfortable supporting colleagues to deliver activity as well as working independently on your own projects. You will have the knowledge and experience to ensure that the right policies, frameworks and plans are in place for our small team to achieve ambitious plans.
The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for campaigns, PR, content and storytelling, brand and creative, and plays an integral role in internal communications. They also support other external engagement activities, such as digital marketing campaigns, corporate partner acquisition and retention, and public fundraising.
Strong copywriting is essential for this role. You will be able to write, edit, and tailor content for different audiences, and publish it across various channels, including the website, social media, emails, and marketing materials.
You will enjoy variety. Your day could involve operational planning, developing a new campaign, briefing freelancers and agencies, finding compelling stories, creating our Impact Report, speaking with journalists, working on internal communications, or drafting social media posts.
The successful candidate will have strong emotional intelligence, relationship building and negotiation skills. They will be collaborative and creative, drive projects forward, work effectively alongside the Senior Digital Marketing Manager, and bring people together across the organisation. They will provide supportive, effective management to the Communications and Campaigns Officer, and be an internal advocate for the impact our Communications and Engagement can have.

Summary of position
Art Explora is looking for an experienced Community Programme Manager with a passion for arts engagement and cultural outreach to manage and build our innovative Community Programme for Art Explora in the UK.
The Community Programme Manager will lead on and develop Art Explora’s key community programme streams – Arts at Home, Theatre at Home, Music at Home, Mini Art Explorers and Art Explorers at..., and manage Art Explora UK’s growing volunteer community. The Community Programme Manager will explore ways to expand the content for this programme though new partnerships with museums, galleries and other cultural institutions, as well as expand the programme into more care homes and other care settings, such as hospitals, across the UK.
The Community Programme Manager will manage Art Explora’s growing pool of 140+ volunteers. They will ensure that Art Explora has a comprehensive and supportive volunteer offer. They will review our current volunteer recruitment processes and policies, safeguarding and training procedures, and ensure we meet the highest standards for working with volunteers.
The volunteer community is key to Art Explora’s strategy for scaling up arts engagement in the UK. About the role
The Community Programme Manager will bring their own experience and knowledge of outstanding community programming to build on and expand the current programme. The Community Programme Manager will manage partnerships with key stakeholders and develop new relationships with a variety of partners, from cultural institutions to new care settings.
The Community Programme Manager is a pivotal position within the small, dedicated and growing Art Explora team in the UK. The Community Programme Manager will be supported by a Community Programme Assistant and the volunteer community. We are looking for a candidate with management experience.

The Philanthropy Manager will manage and steward a portfolio of funders and donors – across trusts and foundations, statutory sources and major donors – to secure annual and multi-year gifts in support of Breaking Barriers’ vision. As well as managing relationships with our existing donors there will be a focus on creating new relationships through proactive prospecting and developing a long-term strategic approach to stewardship and relationship development.
You will be an ambitious, enthusiastic, energetic, and autonomous fundraiser with a demonstrable passion for supporting people from a refugee background. You will have a strong track record of high-value relationship management and fundraising, ideally specialising in Trusts, Statutory, Major Donor fundraising or a related area. We are looking for someone who can successfully secure and steward gifts of 5 figures and above – so evidence of stewarding high-value relationships and high-quality written skills are key. You will collaborate with additional fundraisers across Trusts, Statutory, Corporate and Major Gifts to coordinate approaches and maximise opportunities across all functions.
We welcome applicants with relevant transferable skills from other sectors and other areas of fundraising but a strong knowledge of the fundamentals of grant fundraising is essential. The Alumni Programmes Manager will sit within the Programmes team and will report to the Head of Alumni Engagement. The Sutton Trust’s alumni programme aims to develop a vibrant community of alumni who are offered ongoing support, and who in turn can give back to the Trust in a variety of ways.
Our careers offering of activity to alumni post-18 – predominantly reaching those who are studying at undergraduate level – was launched in 2021 to aid employability and career support for this group. In addition to the new programmatic offering, 2021 saw the launch of two new bursary schemes targeted at this group, funded by corporate partners. The Alumni Programmes Manager plays a central role working with corporates and delivering and piloting new programmes for alumni – including ringfenced placements or insight opportunities. The role will be responsible for the management of the application process, as well as coordinating promotion, delivery of programme activity, and programme evaluation. They will line manage the Alumni Assistant and oversee their workload to ensure support across both the careers and bursary programmes, as well as support across the full range of alumni work. They will also oversee the Alumni Assistant to deliver practical aspects of the post-18 work such as organising webinars, managing enquiries and communicating with bursary recipients to track their progress.
The Alumni Programmes Manager will work also closely with the Programmes and Development teams to support on funding relationships for donors to the Trust’s employability and alumni work and continue to develop and deliver impactful employability and bursary programmes for our community of young alumni 0-5 years out, across a range of sectors.
Main duties
Duties will fall broadly into the following categories, but may change as the role develops and the alumni/post-18 offering grows:
- Lead on planning and delivery of all career and employability-based communications to alumni 0-5 years out of their programme
- Lead on the planning and delivery of the application and allocation process for the two alumni employability bursaries, supported by the Alumni Assistant and keeping the Head of Alumni Engagement and other senior stakeholders at the Trust and the funders informed and involved where appropriate
- Work with the Finance and Operations team to oversee funding allocation for bursary recipients and ensure payment guidelines are followed, and regularly reviewed.
- Lead on the management of the key termly check-in process with bursary recipients including supporting the Alumni Assistant and other team members required to deliver a proportion of the calls.
- Manage day-to-day delivery of employability bursaries evaluation framework, working with colleagues in the wider Trust on data and insights
- Manage the curation and implementation of digital employability resources for STA
- Manage communications to drive engagement with students in the alumni employability programmes and resources on STA
- Curate a programme of in-person employability events e.g. networking events or workshops, across a range of sectors and in response to student demand, to meet the employability needs of Sutton Trust alumni
- Working with the employability team to support the design and delivery of events and activities on the existing alumni employability programmes – e.g. Careers Plus
- Line manage the Alumni Assistant who supports on post-18 activity as well as the wider Alumni team
- Working with colleagues to manage the Trust’s day-to-day relationship with corporate and programme delivery partners for opportunities to support post-18 employability programmes, representing this area of work across the Trust and sometimes externally
- Working with the Head of Alumni Engagement to maintain key stakeholder relationships including with the alumni bursary corporate funders, alumni volunteers, university coordinators or other partners
- Ensure data for engagement with employability and bursary activity is recorded on Salesforce

Person Specification

Overall purpose
The Head of Corporate Partnerships is a key leadership role within the Income and Engagement Directorate. Breaking Barriers’ relationship with corporate partners is the USP upon which our growth and success as an organisation has been built. The Head of Corporate Partnerships has accountability for generating income, impact and influence from the private sector, and for leading a high-performing team to achieve ambitious growth and scale for refugees around the UK.
As Breaking Barriers has grown from a start-up organisation to a now 60-strong team raising c. £4m and supporting more than 1,200 refugees annually, our corporate partnerships have expanded beyond our original London base to be nationwide partnerships with a wide range of businesses and employers. Our corporate partners have been crucial in enabling our growth and will be crucial to delivering upon the ambition of our 2030 goals. The Head of Corporate Partnerships is an essential role that will make this ambition a reality.
You will lead a team to deliver outstanding partnerships management of a range of strategic and multi-faceted relationships with a portfolio of c.50 businesses alongside leading strategy for business development. Leading by example you will own a number of our key relationships to drive growth, whilst bringing your experience to bear to coach your team and ensure structures and processes are in place to enable high performance.
You will be:
- a creative and strategic thinker who doesn’t feel bound by traditional approaches to charity / corporate relationships,
- a keen collaborator, working closely with colleagues in our Services directorate to deliver high impact employability programmes for our refugee clients, and with the Head of Philanthropy and Head of Public Engagement to identify and drive cross-fundraising opportunities,
- an outstanding communicator, comfortable and confident in your ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders across the worlds of CSR, DEI and employability, and across the private, public, and third sectors representing Breaking Barriers at a senior level.
The Head of Corporate Partnerships will be part of Breaking Barriers’ Joint Leadership Team and will have overall strategic and budget responsibility for Corporate Partnerships. They will be a visible leader within the Income and Engagement Directorate and across the organisation, and will contribute to a culture of creativity, growth, innovation and entrepreneurialism that will drive us to achieve our 2030 goals.

Role Purpose:
The Corporate Programme Lead (Talent & Inclusion) will be responsible for the overall management and delivery of our corporate services function, working closely with the Placements and Partnerships teams at The Brokerage, reporting to the CEO. This role focuses on supporting employers to adopt equitable and inclusive practices, enhancing recruitment, retention, and progression of early career talent from underrepresented backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of Employer Programmes at the intersection of social mobility, ethnic diversity, early careers and equitable recruitment and retention.
- Drive the Corporate Talent Alliance, building a programme of activities, resources and support to achieve our mission
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with corporate partners serving as a trusted advisor, providing guidance and ensuring they are supported in implementing best practices.
- Facilitate the delivery of learning experiences and events such as Social Mobility 101, Experiential Workshops, Employer Roundtables and Reverse Mentoring, working in collaboration with our Young Leaders, where relevant.
- Conduct regular evaluations and audits (e.g., Changemaker Framework Audits) to assess the impact of employer programmes and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop communications to promote the Employer Programme and its impact to stakeholders.
- Prepare and present reports on programme performance to stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of industry/ future of work trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to enhance programme delivery
- Knowledge and insights sharing across organisational teams, ensuring our services deliver on client needs
Drive innovation in programme design and delivery, ensuring The Brokerage remains a leader in supporting social mobility and diverse talent.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships.
- Proven experience in programme management, within the context of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Strong understanding of corporate HR practices, particularly in recruitment and retention.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experienced in developing value-based services
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in programme evaluation and impact measurement.
- Commitment to the values and mission of The Brokerage.
Desirable:
· Experience working with young people from underrepresented backgrounds.
· Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
