We’re looking for a dedicated Service Manager to lead our specialist 18-bed 24/7 Complex Needs hostel in Camden. Job Purpose
This role sits within our crisis alternative service, Safe Space, which is a core and out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. Our aim of the service is to keep individuals well in the community and prevent readmission into hospital. The service operates 365 days a year from 14:00-22:00pm across all of our boroughs.
Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone or virtual on a one-to-one basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis or preventing crisis.
The objectives of the service include:
- To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health and social crisis in HFEH.
- To proactively work with keeping people well in the community to reduce re-admitters into hospitals by working with WL NHS teams (e.g. discharge, LPS, CATT, MINT and SPA)
- To provide a true alternative to A&E via a non-clinical drop-in service to support clients
- To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation and crisis recovery planning.
- To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.

Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a Housing Support Worker to join our new Supported Housing Scheme in Lambeth, an LGBTQ+ supported housing service with six units for young people aged 18-21 years. The service is due to open in late May 2025 and is part of a three-year funded joint project with Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing Association and Lambeth Council. The role is part of the Services team and is supervised by the Supported Housing Manager. Other members of the team include another part time Housing Support Worker and a part-time Youth Engagement Coordinator.
Please note this is a part time vacancy working 17.5 hours per week. The pro rata salary for hours worked is £15,257.50 (£30,515 full time equivalent). Hours will be worked on a Week A / Week B rota basis, Monday to Sunday between 10am and 8pm.
Job Summary

Night Support Workers enable people with particular needs to manage their tenancies and live independent lives of their choosing in the community. Night Support Workers are responsible for ensuring continuity of a support service at night and for keeping customers and the building safe.
This role is initially 3 months fixed term contract.
The shift pattern for this role is as follows: 10pm to 8am for 10 nights every fortnight, including every other weekend. This is a waking night position and sleeping on shift is strictly forbidden.

- Building supportive, trusting relationships with customers and creating a positive atmosphere

The free Financial and Wellbeing Support Service in Epsom and Ewell combines the specialist mental health support with expert benefits and money advice from Citizens Advice Epsom & Ewell (CAEE) to support clients during a difficult time. This three-year project is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.
The Role
• Increase financial resilience and independence.
• Improve overall mental and/or emotional wellbeing.
• Reduce stress and anxiety.
• Increase engagement with local community and local services
• Reduce social isolation.
• Help clients to feel more informed about how to manage finances and wellbeing in future.
Key responsibilities include:
• Work in partnership with the Citizens Advice to support people with their mental health who are experiencing financial difficulties.
• Manage a caseload of clients.
• Work with individuals and their carers around their mental health and social circumstances.
• Create a non-clinical person centred support plan around the individual, guided by the individual’s needs.
• Cultivate relationships with, and work with, other services around social wellbeing support for clients.
• Work with clients as the lead professional involved in their care, bridging to other services and opportunities and working closely with other organisations already involved.
• Aim to remove practical and physical barriers that arise from lack of resource at the community level.
• Assistance with accessing services (such as Community Connections).
• Advice, information, and signposting, including clear information about what support is available locally.
• Collecting reporting and monitoring data, providing case studies.
About You
You will have a minimum of 2 years community experience of mental health and wellbeing, and/or a qualification in appropriate subject i.e., counselling, psychology, social work, mental health, Health and Social Care (level 3)
Knowledge & Skills:
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (statutory and voluntary)
• An understanding of confidentiality, consent, information sharing, including GDPR.
• An understanding of Safeguarding policy and practice.
• Good communication and written skills and a commitment to ensure accurate and confidential record keeping.
• Ability to interact effectively with the clients, colleagues and other professionals whilst retaining clear boundaries.
• Ability to work to all the policies, procedures, and standards of the service and joint working arrangements with statutory and voluntary sector partners.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of mental health issues.
• Knowledge and understanding of community working, lone working and ability to maintain safety whilst working in the community.
• Ability to use supervision effectively.
• A good understanding of personal limitations, ability to identify when to seek advice and support and deal with issues in a professional manner.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour from clients who may present in distress.

Specialist Support Workers within Look Ahead are required to have either an extra dimension of experience or a higher qualification level as determined relevant for the post. Specialist Support Workers provide information, social inclusion and vocational opportunities to support people to recover and stay well; exercise choice and control in their care and lives; and participate on an equal footing in the community. Support is also provided to develop a model of re-enablement towards self-advocacy, self-management and empowerment, incorporating the principles and practice of recovery, co-production and peer support. The Sanctuary (Crisis Café) is a service for all residents experiencing emotional distress. The café is weekdays during the evening and at weekends in the afternoon. We provide initial support meetings both face to face and via the telephone, workign with clients to resolve immediate distress, and explore coping mechanisms. Job Description
Spires was established as a response to homelessness in the late 1980s. Initially providing a hot meal, clothing, and advice to those who came for help, Spires has developed into an organization that provides a range of services, including day centre style drop ins for homeless people, a Women’s drop in, a Refugee drop in and outreach targeted at supporting Women who are sex working.
Our core mission is to support homeless people into housing and to assist those who have been homeless in maintaining their accommodation, reducing the risks they face, and increasing their choices. We assess need, create support plans, and provide ongoing key work to empower people to improve their circumstances.
Purpose of Role:
• Support the effective delivery of Spires services across the range of activities provided,
• Provide casework, support planning, and key working sessions for Spires’ clients.

Position in Organisation:
Part of the Spires Support Team, reporting to the Head of Clients Services. This is a new position and will work across all of Spires’ services.
Working Contacts:

We're looking for an LGBTQ+ drug and alcohol recovery worker to jin our Antidote drug and alcohol service.
London Friend’s Antidote service provides high quality drug & alcohol psycho-social treatment and support to LGBTQ+ people utilising harm reduction & abstinence-based methods. Antidote is a part of London Friend which aims to support and promote health & wellbeing for LGBTQ+ people living in the London area.
We are working in partnership delivering substance misuse treatment and support in the London Boroughs of Westminster; Kensington & Chelsea; and Hammersmith & Fulham. This is led by Turning Point. London Friend is the LGBTQ+ lead for the partnership.
Recovery support workers will provide support to LGBTQ+ people experiencing difficulties with drug or alcohol use, including supporting those engaged in chemsex, and incorporating HIV prevention initiatives and sexual health support. They will hold a caseload of clients and be responsible for their assessment, case planning, review, and ongoing care. They will deliver group programmes and provide outreach to LGBTQ+ people in community settings including local sexual health clinics.
The postholder will be employed by London Friend and work within a multi-agency team based in the Boroughs and local satellite locations including the local Turning Point service several times a week. They will also assist with the delivery of Antidote’s services, including our walk-in clinics and group programmes, with a priority on identifying and supporting residents of the Boroughs.
