You will provide face-to-face support to each young person, in their local community, to help them develop confidence, aspirations, and a pro-social mindset. Key to this will be helping them to recognise their strengths and capabilities, consider positive lifestyle choices, and create an action plan to help them move forward to a brighter future.

Project Manager (Course Tutor): “For My Future” delivery for young people – 14 hours/week (part-time)

“For My Future” is a bespoke 6-week course designed in 2019 specifically for people in the justice system. Focusing on both personal skills and practical ones (CVs, applications, interviews), the course is delivered either in person or online to small, single-sex cohorts over a 6-week period. To succeed in this role, you will have experience of supporting people in group scenarios and be confident presenting both in person and online. Groups will need to be carefully managed to ensure each young person gets the best experience and can benefit from the course.

Are you looking for an opportunity where your specialist skills will make a difference in helping to prevent homelessness and rebuild lives?

This is a 1 year fixed terms contract role. 

This exciting pilot is a new approach to preventing rough sleeping, through the provision of accommodation with onsite specialist move-on support to those who are at immediate risk of sleeping rough. The service will provide a route and support for single homeless clients who are presenting to the Local Authority Housing Options or day centres and at imminent risk of rough sleeping, but not yet rough sleeping.

Where their homelessness cannot be prevented by the council and they are at imminent risk of sleeping rough, a referral can be made into the Rough Sleeping Prevention service.

The service will be based across three London locations in Islington, Lambeth and Kensington and Chelsea and staff will be expected to work across all three.

•  (K&C): medium – high support accommodation.

•  (Lambeth): medium support accommodation.

•  (Islington): Assessment hub space for up to 15 clients. Site will operate 24/7.

Each site will have staff delivering casework and support, providing each person with a comprehensive assessment of their needs and circumstances, and intensive specialist support to secure move on.

Onward accommodation offer will be tailored to a person’s individual circumstances, with a move on route identified based on what is suitable and attainable e.g. private rented sector accommodation, supported housing, Clearing House accommodation, reconnections in the UK or abroad and specialist accommodation for certain cohorts such as young people. 

The service will work in partnership with the local authority to secure onward move-on options e.g. access the council PRS scheme, advocating for access to supported housing.

About you

This post requires a motivated and passionate experienced individual to support the managers to lead, support and manage a team across three projects. As Case Coordinator you will be supported by a team of Assessment and Reconnection Workers, night workers and duty workers to: 

• Work closely with the service managers to ensure the effective day to day running of the service.

• Have experience of communicating, liaising and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders to a high level.

• Have experience of client case management and the resilience to achieve and meet agreed outcomes.

In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them. 

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by funding great initiatives, finding what works and working for change – scaling up and spreading the practices that make a difference.

This role and why it’s important 

It's critical to our mission that we understand how and why young people become involved in violence. The YEF’s work combines conducting rigorous evaluations and research studies with hearing directly from young people. It is also important to us that young people are central to the messages we share externally.

Your role involves ensuring that young people’s perspectives are heard and integrated into our work. This includes supporting our Youth Advisory Board (YAB) and helping young people’s voices play a central part in YEFs external communications.

This role also supports the wider team managing grants, contracts and providing general team support.

• Develop and schedule the YAB induction programme for new members. 

• Monitor attendance and engagement of YAB members. 

• Coordinate YAB attendance at external events. 

2. Facilitating Youth Voice in communications: 

• Act as a bridge between the YAB and our external communications team. 

• Work with the communications team to amplify young people's voices on social media.

• Maintain records of payments and tasks using Salesforce.

This post requires a motivated and passionate experienced individual to support the service manager to lead, support and manage a team across three projects. As deputy Manager you will be supported by a Case Coordinator and a team of Assessment and Reconnection Workers, night workers and duty workers to: 

• Work closely with the service manager to ensure the effective day to day running of the service.

• Provide supportive supervision and line management to Assessment and Reconnection Workers, and other team members including night workers and hub assistants; providing guidance on complex cases.

• Build and maintain strong relationships, and work in partnership with local authorities, accommodation services and other relevant agencies to ensure clients move on from the service into the appropriate accommodation with the correct support in place. 

• Work flexibly to support the rough sleeping service, and our clients when they need us the most.

Short description of role:

As the Head of the Professional Conduct, your role entails managing and overseeing all functions of the committee and its associated panels or boards within the institution. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that these entities collectively meet their obligations to the institution's Trustee Board efficiently and effectively.

As the Manager of the Professional Conduct Department, you'll:

• Handle complex inquiries about professional conduct from members and others, following the Institution's rules closely.
• Supervise the complaints process, providing expertise and advice when decisions need to be made.
• Oversee the Professional Conduct Manager's administrative duties for the Committee.
• Manage the Disciplinary Board and its legal team, arranging training when needed.
• Stay updated on disciplinary law and best practices, suggesting changes to rules and guidance.
• Share updates and guidance on professional conduct matters with members through various channels.
• Handle appeals related to Committee and Board decisions.
• Deal with misrepresentations of membership and titles, reporting to the Committee.
• Provide oversight and advice on complaints procedures for the Structural Engineers Registration Ltd and approved certifiers.
• Manage the licensing of the Institution logo, addressing any misuse.
• Manage the Expert Witness register.

In addition, you'll:

• Manage and support your team, addressing any performance issues and fostering a positive work environment.
• Network and build relationships within the industry, staying updated on developments.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and systems within the Institution.
• Adhere to all Institution policies and procedures.

You'll collaborate closely with panel and committee members, all Institution employees, and external stakeholders such as the public, other organisations, and legal professionals.

Key requirements and experience:

• Supporting committee members by taking minutes, proofreading documents, ideally in a chartered membership organisation or similar setting.
• Assisting committees and panels in developing, implementing, and applying clear and consistent policies and procedures to ensure high-quality decisions and continuous improvement, with a comprehensive audit trail.
• Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory guidance, providing consistent and appropriate advice in line with established policies and procedures.
• Leading and managing a professional conduct and disciplinary function, collaborating with committees to investigate allegations of professional misconduct.
• Working with volunteers, recruiting chairpersons and panel members, and coordinating elections.
• Writing reports and producing summaries/communications for senior-level consideration.
• Drafting guidance documents and reviewing codes of conduct for publication and formal communications.
• Proficiency in drafting clear, concise, and professional responses to inquiries, complaints, and disciplinary matters.
• Experience in collaborating with internal or external legal teams to ensure compliance with legal requirements and best practices.
• Expertise in handling member complaints related to professional conduct violations, ethical breaches, or other issues.
• Experience of managing at least one direct report

The successful candidate for the Head of Professional Conduct role should possess strong communication and writing skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with legal teams, extensive experience in managing disciplinary and appeals processes, and proficiency in handling member complaints with fairness and integrity. Must have experience within a membership organisation or similar.
