The role will work closely with the Director of Research Services and Head of Governance to support the Boards and Committees through the provision of high-level secretariat support (including for scientific meetings) and project management support where you will also lead on identifying and driving improved ways of working.

Working pattern

This is a hybrid full-time role (typically 2 days on-site), 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday based in SW London with occasional travel to another office (around once a month).  The other office is about 20  minutes from Clapham or London Bridge.

Flexible working hours are available but please note that you would need to ensure you are on-site on time for any meetings.

The service is a 24 hour service that runs on a shift pattern over the week and has a concierge service covering nights.  Staff will provide holistic support to service users looking at all their needs and putting a robust plan in place.

The Activities and Wellbeing worker will provide both 121 and group sessions. Speaking with women to understand their needs and wants and developing appropriate session plans.  These can be wellbeing activities, skills based  or creative depending on what the women require.  There will be a small budget to accommodate activities.

About You

The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with vulnerable people from a strengths based approach.  An understanding of Trauma and how to work in psychologiacally informed environments is essential in this role.  Someone who is motivated and creative and able to build relationships with women and get them to engage in a variety of activities.

• Support on the development and delivery of a pipeline of insightful MSK and health data analysis and quantitative research, to better understand the UK population with arthritis and MSK conditions and to inform the direction of Versus Arthritis’ ambitions, strategy, policy and services work.

About the role

In this exciting role, you will be a critical member of our influencing team, helping to bring the voice of people living with arthritis right into the heart of Westminster. Working with the Public Affairs team, you will help to deliver the charity’s public affairs activities, building a strong profile with decision-makers to ensure our messages and policy priorities are front and centre of their thoughts.

You will support the delivery of exciting and engaging influencing strategies, working with colleagues to combine policy, public affairs, campaigning, media and social media in order to influence policy change.  You will also play a key role in organising and delivering the charity’s activities at Parliamentary events and political party conferences.

About you

If your knowledge, skills and experience include the following then we’d love to hear from you:

• Strong communicator to help build external relationships with politicians, civil servants and other decision-makers, coupled with good understanding of the Westminster Parliamentary process, UK Government and the wider influencing environment to produce engaging materials and organise events.
• Excellent organisational skills are essential, to deliver a programme of events, politician visits and other activities in Westminster and across the devolved nations.
• Excellent attention to detail, and ability to adapt written and verbal communication styles for different audiences.
• Ability to work with colleagues to develop external briefings, internal briefings and engaging materials for Parliamentarians and policy-makers, with the ability to synthesize often complex policy information.
• Proven ability of monitoring and analysis of the external policy, political and Parliamentary landscape across the UK nations, alerting breaking news and important developments.
• A flexible approach.

*As a hybrid worker the expectation is that you will spend around 40% of your working time in our office spaces or working in community settings. • Lead on developing and delivering an annual plan to grow Scouting in Muslim communities – opening new provision and strengthening existing groups.
• Act as the key liaison and subject matter expert for Muslim Scouting, building strong relationships with volunteers, regional teams, and partners.
• Support the opening and sustainability of new sections, especially in Early Years (Squirrels) and reversing decline in Beavers and Cubs.
• Work with colleagues to transform growth resources – from website content to webinars – making them more effective, inclusive, and culturally competent.
• Build cultural understanding across the organisation, working closely with the Muslim Scout Fellowship UK Support Team to create practical tools and resources.

Immigration Caseworker/Solicitor

Salary: SCP scale 35, £44,711 pro rata

Hours of work: 21 Hours per week

The post-holder will provide advice and casework in the category of immigration, nationality and asylum law. This project will focus on casework for domestic violence victims referred by Local Authorities and other partners across London. They will also work closely with partner agencies providing consultancy and taking referrals of individuals and families needing immigration advice. The post holder must also undertake training and provide second tier support for community agencies.

IKWRO - Women’s Rights Organisation is a registered charity (number 1151507) which supports Middle Eastern women and girls living in the UK who are facing “honour” based violence, forced marriage, domestic violence or female genital mutilation.

As well as providing support to individual women and girls, we run training for professionals and campaigns for better laws and policies to protect women’s rights. We are recruiting an Immigration caseworker/solicitor, who is able to model skills in safely engaging women based on mutual collaboration, trust and empowerment.
