The Vacancy
The Independent Monitoring Service is seeking to recruit professionals with experience of working with children and vulnerable adults to the role of Independent Visitor.
We are looking for individuals all across Lancahsire and Merseyside areas, including but not limitted to: Liverpool, St Helen's, Warrington, Preston, Lytham, Blackpool.
The role of Independent Visitors is to provide visiting services on behalf of NYAS which are consistent with the National Quality Standards for Children’s Homes, Residential Special School Standards, Welsh National Minimum Standards, Health and Social Care Standards Scotland and CQC regulations. The main duties are:
- To undertake monthly visits to identified homes in accordance with the requirements of the relevant NYAS manager.
These visits will be:
Regulation 44 visits to residential children’s homes, short breaks and secure units.
Regulation 25 visits to residential family centres.
Care Quality Commission visits to residential adult homes.
Care Inspectorate Wales regulation 8 visits to residential children’s homes.
RSS20 visits to residential special schools.
Health and social care standards Scotland residential children’s homes.
Monitoring visits to unregulated provision.
- To undertake all tasks as identified by the relevant NYAS manager, during the visits and thereafter, in order to fulfil all aspects of the role.
- To provide factual reports within set timescales as required by the relevant NYAS manager.
Candidates should have demonstrable knowledge and understanding of regulated services and their inspection frameworks and also knowledge of current legislation and statutory guidance relating to children, young people and adults at risk particularly those in residential care.
Candidates must have experience of working within a social or health care organisation, safeguarding and experience of managing complex relationships across a diverse field, e.g. OFSTED inspectors, social workers, residential care workers and registered managers, health care professionals.
Candidates should also possess a professional qualification in a related field, i.e. social work, residential care, health care professional, advocacy or youth work.
This is a self-employed position and you will be paid a sessional rate.
You will also be required to complete annual safeguarding and compliance including, Personal Safety, Data Protection, Information Security, Safeguarding and Equality and Diversity. You will be able to subscribe to an e-learning platform provided by NYAS. The platform will provide you with the opportunity to undertake a number of other professional courses that you can complete in your own time to maintain your own CPD. You can do this on the e-learning platform at a significantly reduced cost compared to undertaking each course individually with different providers.

Main purpose of post
This role is to lead and be responsible for the development, management and
delivery of WPCC’s high quality, professional counselling and complementary
therapy services for adults, and for children and young people, at the Cavendish

Provide professional oversight of freelance therapists ensuring all

What is the overall purpose of the role?
We are looking to appoint a Support Youth Worker to help develop and deliver an innovative and progressive youth programme for our Girls Project, in a safe industrious and supportive environment working primarily with young girls from diverse communities.
The Girls only group (targeting ages 11-19 years) will promote life skills, well-being and female empowerment. Helping girls move forward through the next stage of their lives to become the women who will shape their community in the future. Our approach centres on safe, exploratory methods that aim to understand behaviour and experiences often rooted in trauma, abuse, and neglect. We deliver intensive therapeutic programs within educational and community settings, empowering young people to confront the underlying causes of their emotional distress and work toward healing. To create lasting, sustainable change, we work to establish trauma-informed environments around young people by equipping parents, caregivers, educators, and other professionals with the tools they need to offer effective, supportive care. Currently, our services are active in London and Manchester.
As the post holder you will be responsible for delivering our front-line work to young people, parents and other adults (professionals). You will work in schools and in community settings across London to generate impact for young people using Khulisa’s trauma-informed approach. This role requires an enhanced DBS check.
The post holder will be required to work from home permanently but be willing and able to easily travel regularly to various locations in London as necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role, to deliver aspects of the programme, and to engage with other stakeholders and colleagues.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Programme Delivery:
· Facilitate the delivery of sessions in our flagship Face It programme and modular workshops to young people, our Nurturing Connections programme for parents and carers, and our trauma training for professionals.
· Facilitate delivery to a high standard in all settings (schools, youth services, and community spaces), ensuring that you are always taking a trauma informed approach.
· Facilitate various youth participation workshops, co-delivering with young people as much as practicable.
· Respond to any questions, disclosures or safeguarding concerns raised during sessions and follow up where necessary with the relevant safeguarding teams or, where consent is secured, make onward referrals for additional support in specific cases.
· Contribute to the continuous development of all aspects of the programmes, sharing new ideas and using best practice.
· Participate in the periodic review and updating of programme contents and/or development of new materials with relevant colleagues, ensuring that materials used across the team are always uniform and consistent.
· Maintain accurate records of programme activities, including record of input, output, and impact as well as demographics data, and support relevant colleagues in ensuring effective monitoring and periodic evaluation and reporting of impact generated.
· Manage relevant budgets and ensure a value for money approach to all expenditure, making sure to keep within budget.
Programme Coordination:
· Take direct responsibility for logistics of individual programme delivery or activity, including scheduling, resourcing, staffing, and liaising with schools and other partners to ensure effective delivery.
· Work with colleagues in Impact and Evidence team to provide programme data as required to effectively demonstrate impact generated through your delivery.
· Where possible during delivery, generate multi-media content for the use of colleagues in communications to use in updating the Khulisa website and for social media.
Stakeholder Management:
· Support the Programmes & Participation Manager in the building and maintenance of strong relationships with delivery partners - schools, community organisations, and other important stakeholders.
· Contribute to any work to use learning from delivery activities to redesign existing programmes and/or develop new pieces of work as required.
· If required, represent Khulisa at events, meetings, and conferences as required etc.
· Support the onboarding and training of Associate Facilitators and volunteers as necessary.
· When required, support the onboarding and training of other permanent programme staff.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
· Objectively review the successes and achievements of each delivery session facilitated against programme or activity objectives, identifying and implementing opportunities for making ongoing improvements.
· To actively deliver all elements of the Khulisa programme, including work with adults and Khulisa’s Young Influencers.
· Depending on experience and qualifications, to be receptive to any other duties as required by the line manager and in line with the needs of Khulisa.
· To develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and other professionals, and to participate in team meetings.

Black or Minoritised Ethnic children and young people are less visible and represented across Barnardo's work – in our Children's Services, and in our UK voice and influence work. This role will help us:
- Address ongoing feedback about the need for greater representation of Black or Minoritised Ethnic young people within B-Amplified, while also strengthening engagement from children's services to support pathways for a longer-term, stronger charity-wide approach to inclusive engagement.
- Identify and understand barriers within children's services that prevent meaningful engagement with Black or Minoritised Ethnic young people. This will help inform V&I, SEEN, and the wider organisation's approach to anti-racist practice, and excellent and inclusive voice and influence work.
Specifically, this role will:
- Lead on the recruitment, coordination and support of young people signed up as B-Amplified Network members – the role will be the dedicated member of staff to onboard, sustain engagement, and successfully support young people to transition and exit to other opportunities.

About the Youth Endowment Fund
We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.
Last year, 244 people in England and Wales tragically died after being assaulted with a knife. Of these, 32 were children. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them. Even when violence doesn’t strike directly, we know that the fear of violence has a terrible effect on children’s lives.
The Youth Endowment Fund exists to try and permanently change things. To succeed, we must deeply understand how to reduce the violence that affects young people. We then have to make this information highly relevant and accessible to the people making decisions for vulnerable young people. In practice, this means we need to find out what works and what doesn’t through high quality qualitative and quantitative research into children’s lives. We then must convert this into really accessible content on what works, how delivery organisations (like schools, councils, police forces and more) can change what they do, how the systems have to change. We then need to work with and inspire those making decisions. Together, we believe we can change things permanently for children.
At the heart of this work is our new Area Leaders Programme. It provides support to local councils on what they can do in their towns and cities to change things. To work, the sessions need to be brilliantly designed with great materials and really well delivered. This is where you come in.
About the Area Leaders Programme
The Area Leaders Programme (ALP) brings together local partnerships in a town or a city to better protect children from being drawn into violence. These partnerships often include the police, youth justice services, children’s services, health, education, youth and community organisations.

- Partnerships: Build strong, accountable partnerships with clear roles, governance, and measurable goals.

About the role

The Charity
The Youth Adventure Trust is a youth development charity working with vulnerable young people aged 11 to 16 years old from Somerset, Wiltshire and Swindon. Our outdoor activity based YAT Adventure Programme enables young people to challenge themselves, experience success, learn to go beyond their own expectations and grow in confidence. Through a series of residential camps and day activities they are able to build resilience, self esteem and develop social and life skills. The YAT Resilience Programme works to the same outcomes through a year long programme of monthly activities, home-based challenges and reflective practice. Our Mentoring Programme works with those young people in need of some additional individualised support at the end of our other programmes. The Trust’s Bursary Programme is open to all those young people who have completed an initial programme, in order to assist their next steps into further activities. The Role
We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and motivated Programme Manager to support, deliver and manage our outdoor based development programmes.
Responsibilities will include:

Acting as the key point of contact to organise, deliver and oversee the programme to a group of young people, including managing and supporting residential adventure camps and activity days throughout the year.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to manage our Child and Family Domestic Abuse Support Services across Southend and Essex.
In this vital role, you will lead a dedicated team delivering trauma-informed support to children, young people, and families impacted by domestic abuse, promoting their safety, resilience and recovery. We are looking for a Youth Club Leader to oversee the operations of the youth club.

About the Role
The Youth Commons is a really important project, seeking to support young people to build confidence and agency and take more control over their environment. You will ensure a safe and engaging environment for young people aged 11-18. This includes managing the youth team, developing and delivering programs, planning and coordinating activities, and promoting youth participation. You will also handle tasks like budgeting, reporting, and record keeping
You will support young people to actively participate in and influence the development of the Commons as well as contribute to conversations with local and national decision makers.
No day will be the same, so we are looking for someone with passion and energy to continue this very unique, fulfilling and impactful project.
What you will do…
- Ensure the smooth running of the youth club
- Be the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
- Ensure appropriate staff supervision around reviewing safeguarding, case management and ensure the team are supported in dealing with referral processes
- Continue to develop partnerships with local youth providers including ESCC Youth Team. Represent the Commons in local and wider networks
- Stand up for the interests of young people within the team. Seek ways to include young people directly at all levels, including the board
- Coordinate a wide range of ‘experiences’ for young people and through tenants and partners
- Support young people to actively participate in and influence the development of the Commons as well as contribute to conversations with local and national decision makers
- Help to regrow the youth workforce by supporting people into the field and towards higher levels of qualification
What you’ll bring to the table…
You will have extensive experience of working with young people and have youth work qualification, or similar experience of managing a project or programme.
You will have the ability to motivate people, deal with complex cases and have an understanding of the Children Act, Working Together to Safeguard Children and Mental Health Act

About the Organisation
The Commons comprises 12 buildings and spaces which include vaults, caves and multi storey office blocks, all of which have been brought from dereliction into use as homes, workspace, leisure and learning and are located in the White Rock area of central Hastings, working together for ‘common good’, which is called ‘Commoning’. Rents are capped to protect affordability and good uses are prioritised over profit.
