Job Title: Finance Officer
Salary: £30,040 Band F Level 3 (Inc Market supplement and OLW)
Location: Gilwell Park, London – hybrid working with Tues and Wed in the office at Gilwell Park
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week)
About The Role:
To be responsible for the recording, reviewing, and reconciliation, processing of all transactional data for the finance team, including processing of supplier invoices, payment requests, expense claims, other payments, sales invoices and receipts. To contribute to the work of the finance team across all disciplines as required.
As the Finance Officer, you will (Key Responsibilities):
- Assist the Transaction Manager in the provision of an excellent customer
- Ensure account receivables and payables activities are performed accurately and timely including procurement duties as required
- Ensure that financial transactions are properly updated and recorded
- Responsible for accurately recording and processing authorised purchase orders, invoices, expense claims, payments, petty cash, and income within the computerised accounting system.
- Preparation of balance sheets reconciliations
- Manage cash controls as well as maintain book keeping

Senior Management Accountant (Part Time – 3 Days per Week)
A national charity seeking a Interim Senior Commercial Management Accountant to support their finance team during a period of growth and transformation.
This role will play a critical part in leading the development of costing and pricing models to support strategic decision-making. You will also deliver high-quality financial planning and strengthen financial insight across the organisation.
This is a part-time role (3 days per week) offered on a interim basis until April 2026. The charity offers remote working, with access to a London office for those who prefer a hybrid approach.
The Role
As Senior Commercial Management Accountant, you will provide crucial support across financial planning, forecasting, modelling, and operational finance. Working closely with the Head of Finance & Finance Director, you will help deliver the charity’s mid-year forecast, develop organisational planning tools for the upcoming financial year, and lead on advanced costing and pricing work to support strategic decisions.
You will also support technical areas including partial VAT recovery, internal financial controls, and the migration of a small trading subsidiary to a new finance system. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys analytical problem-solving, partnering with non-finance colleagues, and contributing to organisational change.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of costing and pricing models to support strategic decision-making.
- Deliver the mid-year (4+8) forecast, providing variance analysis and clear narrative insight.
- Prepare planning tools and templates for the upcoming financial year.
- Provide financial guidance and analysis to non-finance managers across the organisation.
- Produce high-quality management reporting for senior leadership.
- Support technical accounting matters, including partial VAT recovery and VAT group consideration.
- Lead on the migration of financial processes for the charity’s trading subsidiary to a new finance system.
- Conduct internal audits and support compliance with statutory and charity regulatory requirements.
- Partner closely with operational teams and budget holders to strengthen financial understanding and performance.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative finance team culture, supporting process improvements and knowledge sharing.
About You
You will be a part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent) with strong experience in management accounting and developing robust cost and pricing models – ideally with experience working within commercial environments.
You’ll bring:
- Experience developing financial models, costings, and pricing work.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent Excel capability (modelling, data validation, pivot tables, lookup functions).
- Experience supporting non-finance colleagues with forecasting, variance analysis, and performance insight.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and accessibly.
- Confidence working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- A collaborative, calm, and proactive approach.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Jet Reports for Business Central.
- Experience with VAT recovery or working through VAT implications for charities.
Contract & Working Arrangements
- Contract: Interim until April 2026
- Day rate: £350- £425 (depending on experience)

My client, a well known charity, is looking to recruit a permanent business partner to join the team. Based from home, with some travel throughout the year, the role will be to deliver financial data, analysis and support to managers across the business whilst developing and delivering good quality budgeting and forecasting tools which will help provide specialist financial advice for informed decision-making.
Day to day your role will include:
- To be part of all financial planning and business planning cycle activities, to include the annual budget, Medium Term Business Strategy and quarterly rolling forecasts.
- Deliver high-quality financial information on a regular and adhoc basis which may include daily, weekly, monthly cycles
- Transform data into relevant information; identify trends, and deep-dive into variances.
- Consult closely with stakeholder to understand current and future business needs and ensure the necessary resources and plans are in place.
- Interpret and interrogate the financial data in order to identify key areas of the business for development and performance review.
- Ensure statistical returns are completed as required by law and results analysed for benchmarking against the sector and key competitors (to include charity sector external reporting)
To be considered for the role you will need to be a fully qualified (CCAB) finance professional with previous experience in business partnering as well as in the charity or another regulated sector.
This is a home based role but some travel will be required throughout the year. The salary range is £52,265 to £72,927.
