Main Areas of Responsibility
Reporting directly to the Head of Talent Acquisition, you will work with the wider Talent Acquisition and People Services teams and coordinate marketing initiatives across the HR network in our 55 academies. We offer a collaborative environment where you will work across multiple head office functions and stakeholder groups, sharing best practices and contributing to broader talent initiatives.
You will play a key role in attracting top talent to one of the leading education trusts in the UK. Working within our friendly Talent Acquisition and Development Team, you will manage our careers website, creative copy and blog writing and general awareness campaigns. About the Role
The Oldham A Bed for Every Night (ABEN) project is a temporary supported accommodation project whose key focus is providing stability and building independence skills to enable adults who have been rough sleeping, to move on to long term accommodation options. Clients are adult homeless people aged over 18 with a range of support needs in Oldham. The Service provides 24-hour support to adult who have been rough sleeping.
As an Accommodation Support Worker you will play a vital role in supporting adults (aged 18+) as they move from emergency accommodation into their own homes. Working closely with the Service Manager, you will lead on support planning, risk assessments, and the day-to-day engagement of your caseload of clients.
You will be responsible for helping clients achieve personal goals, supporting access to education, employment, or volunteering opportunities, and ensuring their accommodation remains a safe and supportive environment. You will also contribute to group activities and promote client involvement in service development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting clients through tailored support plans, risk and needs assessments
- Providing 1:1 and group sessions to build resilience and encourage social engagement

Job Description: Training and Events Officer
The Training and Events Officer will play a key role developing and delivering high quality professional development, training, events, workshops to SLA members and wider audiences. The postholder will develop inspirational, insightful and innovative routes to supporting SLA members to deliver on their school library provision remit, enabling children and young people to reach their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about school libraries, education and training.
You will work with the CEO, SLA colleagues and key stakeholders to develop and deliver a comprehensive training offer, including leading on logistics planning and delivery of our flagship annual conference. In addition, you will develop and maintain a calendar of exciting events and opportunities to share knowledge and insight, working with colleagues to ensure the offer is timely and informative. A confident facilitator and coordinator, you will be comfortable leading on training delivery, or recruiting and working with external facilitators in order to achieve specific outcomes. Creative, with a flair for spotting opportunities for professional development, you will have a keen eye for detail and an ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines. Resource creation will be second-nature to you and you’ll be comfortable writing for adults and children, and young people.
Duties include:
- Logistics planning and delivery of the flagship event, SLA Annual Conference (currently called the Weekend Course) providing high quality professional development and networking opportunities to members
- With CEO and key stakeholders, supporting the development of a comprehensive, engaging and exciting conference programme and recruit 40 exhibitors, plus event speakers as needed
- Supporting development of the training strategy working with the CEO to define aims and objectives
- Developing and maintaining a calendar of training, workshops and events aligned with the training strategy, working with the CEO and SLA colleagues, in particular the Outreach Support Officer
- Creation of supporting resources, toolkits and lesson plans to increase training engagement and impact
- Delivering and facilitating inspirational and engaging training and events as required (online and in person)
- Developing relationships with partners to produce high quality webinars, training and online events – including SLA members, funders, external stakeholders
- Exploring and evaluating business and funded models for training and events to ensure an income stream

- Managing all training and events administration, planning and logistics

- Generating all event reports and updates as needed for internal and external use

All team members contribute to office admin, maintaining member data and general office support.
To be successful in this role you should ideally demonstrate:
· experience of working in school libraries, the education sector and a strong understanding of the education landscape

The Community Engagement Officer is an essential role in fostering strong relationships with current and prospective members of the School Library Association community. Working under the supervision of the Research Programme Coordinator, and alongside a multidisciplinary team that includes the Principal and Co-Investigators, experts with lived experience of pregnancy loss and mental health difficulties, you will contribute to a range of research activities. These include recruiting participants, conducting qualitative interviews with people who have experienced pregnancy loss, liaising with NHS services, managing data in line with GDPR and ethical guidelines, and ensuring adherence to study protocols.
What you’ll bring
You will have a background in psychology or a related field, with experience in clinical or qualitative research involving parents and young children, particularly within mental health contexts.
Essential skills and experience:
- Clinical research experience in perinatal mental health, health psychology, or health inequalities;
- Proficiency in collecting, analysing, and managing qualitative data;
- Strong understanding of participant and patient confidentiality and ethical research practices;

Key Responsibilities :
With support from the UK Director, the Development Manager will work collaboratively with the Director and wider UK team and Development colleagues in Paris and Brussels to execute the fundraising strategy in the UK. - Prepare compelling fundraising communications, materials and presentations for donor meetings and events
2. Nurturing & engaging the UK Community (20%)
- Contribute to Epic’s engagement strategy for current donors to ensure an 80% renewal rate
- Maintain regular touchpoints with a subgroup of donors through activities such as sharing monitoring reports, organising project visits and volunteering opportunities in the UK, and scheduling regular calls and face to face meetings.
- Act as the main point of contact for a subset of donors and answer their enquiries in a timely manner
- Craft and manage engagement opportunities such as UK events and webinars, including drinks, talks, breakfast events, and provide support to the organisation for the annual gala nights. Support will be provided for certain events by our in-house dedicated Events team.
3. Fundraising-related administration (15%)
- Manage donor-related administrative tasks, such as regular use of Epic’s CRM (Salesforce), donation forms, meeting preparation, minutes (where applicable), and
- Process all donations, using Salesforce and related donation platforms, in a timely manner each month
- Liaise with international fund vehicles, such as Myriad USA, to ensure all international donation commitments are fulfilled.
Position Requirements :
- Candidate must have the right to work in the United Kingdom
- Excellent level of English (both spoken and written) required
- Proficiency in French (written and spoken) highly desirable
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a sales, fundraising or business development role, with demonstrable experience of securing 5- and 6-figure gifts
- Experience within the charity sector is desirable but not required
- Experience using software packages such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Canva and other applications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to attend external events (including evening events) and comfortable networking with a variety of people across different communities
- Experience with a CRM is required and preferably some experience of using Salesforce
- Strong self-discipline and project management skills
- Excellent organisational skills and a strong eye for detail
The Epic UK team is a small but dedicated team. The role requires flexibility and a start-up attitude. This is a full time, permanent position, based in the London office with the opportunity for two remote working days each week. This role reports to the UK Director and will involve closely working with Epic’s global development team, as well as with the Engagement, Programs, Marketing and Communications, and Operations teams.

Job Purpose

Role Responsibilities:
● Support Finance Manager in day-to-day financial operations, including month-end
and year-end closing processes:
● Cash Management: Overseeing the handling of cash receipts and
disbursements, ensuring accurate recording, and managing bank balances.
This includes reconciling bank accounts and petty cash.
● Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts receivable, accounts payable, and
credit card statements, ensuring that balances are accurate and up to date.
● Journal Adjustments: Making entries in the accounting system to correct errors
or to record transactions that are not entered automatically.
This specifically includes:
● Prepayments: Accounting for expenses paid in advance.
● Accruals: Recognizing expenses incurred but not yet paid, or income
earned but not yet received.
● Payroll: Processing payroll transactions, ensuring accurate payment of
salaries and wages, and recording related deductions and taxes.
● Prepare mid and end of the month BACS payment run and ensure that
suppliers, staff and students are paid within payment terms.
● Support Head of Finance on the external and internal audits;
● Gathering and organising financial records and documents needed for the
audit process.
● Responding to inquiries: Addressing questions and requests for information
from auditors.
● Prepare the VAT statement for review by the Finance Manager.
● Ensure all suppliers’ invoices are attached to purchase requisitions on
ApprovalMax and in Xero.
● Ensure that all income is recorded against the relevant nominal code and cost
account and that the correct VAT code is used.
● Ensure that all requests for sales invoices are monitored and chased so that
the prompt payment is received.
Person Specification
● Previous Officer/Administrator experiences are ideal but not necessary.
● Ability to undertake administrative tasks and development of effective office systems
and procedures.
● Ability to use information technology for word processing, spreadsheets and
databases and ideally you will have a typing speed of over 60 words per minute.
