We are looking to recruit a facilities and office coordinator to provide a high-quality service for the Centre. This is an exciting role in our facilities team that will support the smooth running of the building, including maintaining kitchen supplies, issuing building access passes, supporting with the administration of the planned maintenance cycle and with building maintenance requests.

With your warm, friendly, professional manner, you will provide exemplary office management, from accepting regular deliveries and post for our hostel residents and services, to ensuring we have all the right supplies in the right place.  You’ll be a strong help to the Facilities Manager, providing top-notch administrative support to maintain our requirements under health and safety, and hands-on help when needed around the building.

Bringing your experience of office management and willingness and enthusiasm to support with maintenance tasks, you will proactively seek to continually improve yourself and the role, championing a culture of service excellence, as well as taking ownership and accountability of your workload.

About the Role:

This role is crucial in the long-term retention and growth of our partnership revenue streams. The role requires strong interpersonal, negotiation, and project management skills to maintain and nurture mutually beneficial strategic alliances to enhance Urban Synergy’s capacity and reach. Who we are looking for:

Proven experience in a partnership development or similar role, preferable within the non-profit sector. Minimum of 5 yrs experience in this area. 

Bachelors’ Degree in Business, management, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible candidates to train and support young people to travel specified journeys safely and independently using public transport.

Overall Job Purpose

To train and support a young person to travel a specified journey safely and independently using public transport.  Record your observations and give feedback to the travel training coordinator, the young person and their family.  To take part in reviews of training as it progresses.

Working Conditions

• Casual working assignment with no minimum hours guaranteed

• Each assignment must be mutually agreed by both parties

Responsibilities

• Support a young person door-to-door as they travel on public transport.

• Allow the young person to learn independently and only guide, support or intervene when necessary (this will be included in your induction)
• Approach travel training in a positive manner by reinforcing achievements and viewing obstacles as opportunities to learn.  Discuss strategies and agree solutions with the young person, their family and the travel training coordinator.
• To contact the travel training coordinator immediately if there are any emergencies or unexpected situations.
• Ensure that the young person is trained to use the alternative route safely and independently.
• Ensure that the young person learns and/or knows how to contact parents or carers in case of an emergency
• Any issues or concerns must be raised with the travel training coordinator or the business development manager.

• Learn the support needs of the young person prior to training

About your team 

You’ll be joining our brilliant South Region team, which covers our largest region from Kent to Cornwall, offering numerous opportunities to contribute your expertise in a variety of contexts, from urban and suburban to coastal and rural settings. Across the south region, we currently work with 130 churches and have 150 faith guides, we’d like to see these numbers grow significantly over the next few years.

You’ll have a fantastic opportunity each summer to get hands on engaged in these mission and festivals throughout the year. 

Our South Region also includes our vibrant capital, one of the most multicultural and ethnically diverse cities in the world, with over 300 languages spoken. his is a busy and exciting time to be working on the Childhood harms portfolio, with significant changes to the policy framework both proposed by the Government and underway. We are looking for a candidate with experience of policy and influencing decision makers, ideally with a background in childhood harms, including child sexual abuse and exploitation.  Your work will play a key role in creating the context for positive change to improve the lives of vulnerable children, young people and families. You will need experience of working with  a wide range of stakeholders to influence policy change, and to be able to demonstrate strong oral and written skills.
