Job description

Be the visible connector who brings young people into opportunity and shares their stories with authenticity and care.

YouthBuild Ventures UK (YBVUK) works alongside young people aged 16–25 who are furthest from opportunity, supporting them to build skills, confidence and direction. Our programmes combine vocational training, leadership development and wellbeing support to create real pathways into work.

Our culture is rooted in Love, Accountability, Collaboration, Diversity and Leadership. These values shape how we engage with young people, how we communicate externally and how we build partnerships in our communities.

We are recruiting an Outreach & Communications Officer to sit at the intersection of programme delivery, recruitment and community engagement.

As an Outreach & Communications Officer, you will maintain a visible presence within YouthBuild programmes while leading relationship-based outreach and authentic communications. This role is grounded in proximity to delivery — ensuring recruitment messaging and storytelling reflect real lived experience, not assumptions.

The Outreach & Communications Officer plays a key role in building referral networks, engaging young people directly and amplifying youth voice across digital and community spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead learner recruitment through in-person, relationship-based outreach

  • Build and maintain strong referral partnerships across schools, colleges and community organisations

  • Maintain consistent programme presence to build trust and insight

  • Capture and create ethical, youth-centred content aligned to safeguarding guidance

  • Manage digital channels and recruitment communications

  • Represent YBVUK at community and sector events

We’re looking for an Outreach & Communications Officer who thrives in community spaces, builds trust easily, communicates clearly and believes deeply in the potential of young people.
