We’re currently recruiting full time or part time School Counsellor/Art/Play Therapists to work directly with children and young people in our schools Mental Health Teams. For this post you need to have a mental health qualification and at least two years’ experience of working with young people. We are also looking for people with an open and flexible attitude; excellent engagement skills and a passion for working with children and young people around mental health. 

Responsibilities include offering a flexible range of short-term and longer-term mental health interventions to primary and secondary aged children and young people including individual and group-based support; workshops; crisis support; mental health themed activities. The posts have scope and opportunity for developing new initiatives and ways of working to support young people’s mental health across South London.

Senior Management Accountant (Part Time – 3 Days per Week)

A national charity seeking a Interim Senior Commercial Management Accountant to support their finance team during a period of growth and transformation.

This role will play a critical part in leading the development of costing and pricing models to support strategic decision-making. You will also deliver high-quality financial planning and strengthen financial insight across the organisation.

This is a part-time role (3 days per week) offered on a interim basis until April 2026.  The charity offers remote working, with access to a London office for those who prefer a hybrid approach.

The Role

As Senior Commercial Management Accountant, you will provide crucial support across financial planning, forecasting, modelling, and operational finance. Working closely with the Head of Finance & Finance Director, you will help deliver the charity’s mid-year forecast, develop organisational planning tools for the upcoming financial year, and lead on advanced costing and pricing work to support strategic decisions.

You will also support technical areas including partial VAT recovery, internal financial controls, and the migration of a small trading subsidiary to a new finance system. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys analytical problem-solving, partnering with non-finance colleagues, and contributing to organisational change.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of costing and pricing models to support strategic decision-making.
• Deliver the mid-year (4+8) forecast, providing variance analysis and clear narrative insight.
• Prepare planning tools and templates for the upcoming financial year.
• Provide financial guidance and analysis to non-finance managers across the organisation.
• Produce high-quality management reporting for senior leadership.

About You

You will be a part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent) with strong experience in management accounting and developing robust cost and pricing models – ideally with experience working within commercial environments.

The Centre for Justice Innovation is looking to recruit a creative and pragmatic policy professional to help us advocate for evidence-based reform to criminal and family justice policy in the UK.

What will You be doing?

Our policy officer will play a key role in building on our research and practice insights to make the arguments for evidence-based policy in the UK’s justice systems, with a focus on building links in Westminster and Whitehall. You will work across our portfolio of work on issues such as:

• Diverting young people away from unnecessary criminal justice system involvement
• Ensuring that the justice system works with vulnerable women in a gender-sensitive and trauma-informed way
• Making sure that children and families involved in the family justice system have the right support.

Your duties will include:

• Producing policy materials and engaging with political stakeholders (e.g., submitting evidence to committees, emailing MPs, writing briefings);
• Working with our teams to translate research and practice work into products appropriate for policy audiences;
• Building our networks with policymakers and legislators in Westminster;

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for driving organisational impact? We're looking for an experienced professional to join us as Head of Strategy Implementation (Interim). This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering our current Strategy and Theory of Change, ensuring momentum and alignment across the charity.

This role is fixed term until September 2026, working 29 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to attend meetings at least once a week as needed in central London and to attend meetings in other locations across the UK with reasonable notice.

Interviews will be held either in person in central London or virtually on Monday 22nd December. We appreciate this is a busy time of year and not all candidates will be able to travel. There may be a second, in person, interview in the New Year as part of the process.

What you'll do:

· Lead the implementation of our Strategy and Theory of Change, embedding cross-departmental collaboration through Thematic Oversight Groups.

· Oversee progress on strategic priorities, on behalf of the Chief Executive.

As part of the NFCC People Culture and Leadership (PCL) Hub this post plays a key role in supporting and enabling fire and rescue services (FRS) to drive organisational and culture change.

The postholder will use their subject matter knowledge, skills and experience alongside the principles of project management to support the design, development and implementation of a range of PCL products and services. Whilst the role supports all PCL activities, the role will have a focus on Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)-related projects, therefore experience in this area is particularly desirable. Moreover we require someone with relevant knowledge and experience in one or more fields of the people/HR/OD/EDI profession.

Evaluating the effectiveness of the NFCC’s PCL products and their benefits to FRS’s will be a key aspect of the role and the postholder will undertake a range of evaluation activities to identify improvements and make recommendations for improvement. ABOUT THE ROLE

Variety is looking for a Social Media Officer to join our Fundraising and Marketing team. Reporting to the PR and Communications Manager, the role will be vital in positioning Variety as a highly impactful charity and supporting our mission to fund life-changing practical support to disabled and disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

You will be responsible for creatively growing our social media channels to increase engagement and reach new audiences. This includes content planning and ensuring our channels reflect Variety’s campaigns, programmes and brand. You’ll lead on community management and play a key role in developing and maintaining the charity’s content library.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will help create integrated social media plans and support live coverage from our wide range of fundraising and cause-led events. You’ll have opportunities to attend events and work directly with the children and families we support, helping to bring their stories to life.

Highly organised and creative, you will be confident in adapting content for different channels, ensuring it is delivered in the right format, tone and style for each audience.

You will be working with a supportive and knowledgeable team who regularly work from our vibrant office in the heart of Camden, London.

This role will require a DBS check.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

● Manage social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn) and engage with audiences, including Variety ambassadors.

● Keep the social media schedule up to date (using Hootsuite) with consistent posting and avoiding clashes by planning in advance.

● Create engaging content that aligns with our overall mission by interviewing beneficiaries, creating graphics on Canva and filming reels and videos.

● Ensure social media content is child-centric and accessible.

● Attend events to capture social media content (these will always be pre-agreed in advance).

● Undertake analysis of social media outputs to ensure content is engaging and effective and then shape future content based on learnings.

● Community management of our social media channels, responding to posts and engaging with followers.

● Keep up to date with the industry by horizon scanning the charity sector and social media generally for the latest trends.

● Support the PR and Communications Manager as needed.

● Participate in staff meetings, fundraising team meetings and contribute to the success of Variety’s fundraising and communications strategy.

● Any other duties as required.

MAIN BENEFITS, TERMS AND CONDITIONS

25 days holiday pro-rata (we also normally give between Christmas and New Year off, but this is not contractual). About SCEC

SCEC was founded over twenty years ago to provide learning enrichment opportunities to primary school children in disadvantaged communities in south London. Together with our partners, several leading independent schools, we currently operate four schemes in math, literacy, science and art. Children learn through fun, engaging group activities like science experiments, storytelling and mathematical treasure hunts, all taught by qualified teachers with added support from student mentors. Your Role

The Scheme Director is a newly created role that will be pivotal in helping SCEC extend its reach. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will help SCEC design and implement an expansion programme as well as coordinating the delivery of the existing schemes via our school partners. You will also serve as a trusted partner to the Board in the administration of the charity.

Similar to a COO, this role straddles the operational and the strategic. We are looking for a confident communicator and relationship builder who can work across varied stakeholder groups. You will have project management experience that can be applied to challenges like process design and change management. Our Young People’s Supported Housing Service is funded by Southwark Council to provide supported accommodation to care experienced young people (with the status as looked after children or care leavers), and/or young people at risk of homelessness within the North of the Borough:

• A 24-7 staffed 16 bed Ofsted registered supported housing project for young women aged 16-21.
• 40 bedspaces of accommodation across 10 properties, for young people aged 18-21 with visiting support.

Our properties are places of safety, Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE), from which we work with children and young people using person-led, holistic, trauma-informed and solution-focused approaches. The Scouts actively engages and supports young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society. 

As their Financial Controller, you will lead the Financial Accounting and Payroll team. This hands-on, strategic role requires a leader capable of driving operational efficiency in transactional accounting while managing the complexity of statutory reporting, audit, and internal control frameworks.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations (AP, AR, GL, Banking) and drive efficiency. Ensure the integrity, controls, and continuous improvement of all finance systems.

• Be the primary lead for the production of annual statutory accounts and the management of the year-end audit. Ensure full compliance with tax obligations (VAT, Corporation Tax) and external regulations.

• Design, implement, and maintain a robust and effective internal control framework, ensuring processes are documented and controls are strictly followed.

• Lead cash flow management, debt collection, liaise with investment managers, and report on compliance with the financial reserves policy.

• Manage and motivate the Financial Accounting Team and oversee the Payroll Operations Manager, ensuring an accurate, timely, and compliant payroll and pensions service.

• Act as a key advisor to employees and trustees, specifically managing the fixed asset register and partnering on capital expenditure budgets.

Essentials: 

• A recognised, full Professional Accounting Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).

• 5-10 years' Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) in a senior financial accounting or audit position with a demonstrable track record of success in managing complex financial operations.

• Experience working within a charity environment and strong knowledge of charity SORP. 

• Proven experience in statutory accounts production, managing audits, implementing strong internal controls, and overseeing transactional teams.

• Strong change management skills and a passion for driving continuous process and system improvements.

Salary is up to £68,000 + Excellent Benefits. 

The Scouts are based in Gilwell Park, Chingford, London. Hybrid working with 2 days per week in the office.
