This role is a great opportunity to play an important part in creating and facilitating Outdoor Learning experiences in Cumbria.

The Role

Being an Outdoor Learning Officer involves collaborating with schools to integrate Outdoor Learning into their curricula and provide opportunities for children and young people to have positive experiences in natural environments, focusing on underserved groups and those most in need of support. You will be responsible for the planning and delivery of our schools offer to ensure the success of Outdoor Learning programmes in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme Delivery and Collaboration:

•  Develop a bespoke Outdoor Learning offer to schools as part of our Foundations for Outdoor Learning and/or Enriching Education programmes, considering various factors such as location, catchment area, size and type of groups, use of resources and landscape.
• Plan and deliver Outdoor Learning sessions for eligible schools, on school grounds, in local green spaces and at Low Beckside Farm, devising activities and developing appropriate learning resources for each session and agreed outcome.
• Support the delivery of sessions at Low Beckside Farm for groups attending as part of their OWL (Outdoor Week of Learning) residential.
• Work with schools and teachers for effective delivery of programmes.
• Contribute to impact assessments through data collection, observations, and evaluation paperwork.
• Comply with all risk assessments, Health & Safety policies and safeguarding considerations.
• Build a network among schools, aligning their needs with the Trust’s programmes.
• Coordinate with other Outdoor Learning Officers for collaboration with each other and local networks.

Development and Promotion:

• Support the development of our site at Low Beckside Farm as a venue for high-quality school learning. 
• Assist Learning Operations Lead in establishing and maintaining key relationships and projects and promoting Outdoor Learning programmes by attending relevant events.
• Contribute to the development of the Trust through engagement with grantees/beneficiaries in Cumbria and facilitation of the Outdoor Practitioners’ Education Network (OPEN) meetings, and explore opportunities for collaborative efforts.
• Participate in the development of learning policies and procedures, including risk assessments, Health & Safety protocols, training needs, and safeguarding.

• Coach and encourage school staff to support their self-confidence, knowledge, and skill development.
• Provide comprehensive support to high-priority schools.
• Support schools in embedding Outdoor Learning into their curriculum and practice.
• Offer hands-on Outdoor Learning opportunities for school groups, reaching specific settings.
• Break down barriers to Outdoor Learning participation by providing tailored support to schools without charge.
• Utilise the Trust's learning locations for inspiring Outdoor Learning experiences.

Person Specification:

• Teaching qualification or equivalent experience.

 We offer a targeted programme of support, individually designed for each school, based on a needs analysis and conversations with staff. This will follow one of two pathways:

Foundations for Outdoor Learning
This programme is a comprehensive, long-term support package for schools wanting to embed Outdoor Learning into their curriculum and practice. Support may include teacher CPD, mentoring, and advice on how to optimise use of your school grounds. We do this on your school site, with some supported visits to local green spaces and our own learning locations.

Enriching Education
This programme uses The Ernest Cook Trust’s own learning locations - woodlands, farms, rivers and other natural landscapes - together with our Outdoor Learning leaders to support a school’s Outdoor Learning provision. This may be a school’s first experience of Outdoor Learning, or it may enhance and extend existing programmes. Either way, we aim to inspire all participants to spend more time
outdoors.

CVAA UK is a membership organisation supporting not-for-profit organisations across the UK who specialise in adoption services. Over 3000 children in the UK need adoption each year because they cannot remain at home or with family members. The CVAA Practice Programme delivers 30 or more online courses each year to those working in the sector, primarily social workers. The programme has developed a strong reputation for attracting a range of subject experts to deliver cost effective, engaging and useful training. Due to a restructure of the team, we are now looking for a Training Manager who can oversee the delivery of the programme from mid to late July 2024. Initially fixed term, it is anticipated that this post will become permanent.

The Training Manager will work with the Head of Practice Development and the Programme Administrator to ensure that the courses are full, delivered effectively and evaluated. Part of the role will also be to source new trainers and support the creation of the programme into 2025.

The CVAA team work remotely across the UK so location of the postholder is not a barrier to recruitment as long as long as they can travel occasionally and come into London for team days. The team is small, diverse and dynamic. Experience of project management or delivery of training or events is more important than knowledge of adoption or children's social care. Are you passionate about improving support for families affected by substance misuse?

This could be the perfect role for you! The Family Support Worker is an exciting role within a growing and dynamic team, where you can help to make a real difference to the lives of unpaid carers in Lambeth. 

Having identified a gap in the identification of young carers and adult carers looking after someone with substance misuse issues, over the past year we have successfully piloted a project to identify and provide long-term support to these carers. We are now entering the second year of the project, and are looking for a new Family Support Worker to bring their expertise, enthuasism and ideas to the next stage of the project. 

The Family Support Worker will work across our Young Carers and Adult Carers Service to provide support to families affected by substance misuse, through whole-family assessments and reviews. The successful candidate will ensure that adult and young carers, and their families, have access to a range of emotional and practical support appropriate to their needs.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of working within the substance misuse field and an understanding of associated health and social issues. They will preferably have experience of working with both adults, children and young people. We are seeking candidates with a professional qualification in health & social care, youth or community work, and/or direct experience of delivering family focused interventions.

Carers’ Hub plays a vital role in Lambeth, supporting the many unpaid carers across the borough. Our work stems from the fact that carers often go about their roles despite the toll it might take on their own wellbeing, often having to make sacrifices that hamper their own ability to lead a normal life. In the first instance, this will be achieved through joint project management and rollout of a new Federation wide SharePoint eco system. This is an exciting time to deliver a new ecosystem that will lay the foundation for future enhancement and uses of technology across all aspects of the Federation (Educational and Corporate).

You will then begin to identify the best uses of digital technology to promote learning, by engaging with latest research and by working across our academies in consultation with teachers and Principals. Through your leadership and networking within the Federation you will ensure the best approaches to improving educational outcomes are strategised, implemented, evaluated and are widely disseminated. Your work will involve the development of a Federation-wide Digital Learning strategy, building coalitions to implement and test this and then to disseminate the work. You will produce a wide range of training resources working with the Federation Consultant Leaders and Digital Learning Leaders in each Academy and you will Chair the Federation Digital Strategy Group, which will inform the priorities of the Federation IT team.

• Qualifications to degree level and above
• Profound understanding of the power and potential of Digital Technology to improve educational outcomes
• Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft suite of learning technologies, including SharePoint, OneDrive, Office365, OneNote and Teams - and of their use in supporting learning in the classroom and at home
• Strong knowledge of the national curriculum programme of study for the subject and of current subject developments
• Experience of improving, leading and developing teachers in their professional development
• At least two years in a management role
• Clear evidence of having raised standards of achievement at all levels
• Ability to clearly articulate a vision for the future of which enthuses and motivates
• Ability to plan and deliver effective training and development programmes which meet identified needs within the academies

• National Stalking Helpline and Advocacy Service which offers support and advice to thousands of victims of stalking every year. Caseworkers advocate on victims’ behalf with police, social services and other statutory or victim support agencies. 

• London Stalking Support, a specific service to provide advice and advocacy for victims in London, including the development of a trauma-led approach to advocacy. 

• London Stalking Threat Assessment Centre, we are a key partner in this intervention programme for stalking perpetrators, in an interdisciplinary setting involving partners from the health and criminal justice services. We provide victim centred advocacy.

The Role

As the Legacies Manager, you will assume a pivotal role within our dynamic Partnership and Development team. Key responsibilities of the Legacies Manager include:

• Develop and implement a legacy strategy/plan aligned with the charity's goals to increase/improve outreach to and engagement with legacy supporters and raise legacy income around agreed goals.
• Provide excellent stewardship to all supporters who engage with legacies, working with stakeholders to ensure journeys are insight-led, respond to audience needs, and are well documented and reported upon.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of legacy giving initiatives and regularly report on progress to senior leadership and key stakeholders. Use data and analytics to inform decision-making and continuously improve strategies for maximising legacy support.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the end-to-end process for delivering the legacies plan is designed and documented. This includes solving problems in circumstances where there is minimal guidance available from established practices and precedents within the organisation.
• Work closely with the Head of Relationship Fundraising and other fundraising colleagues to ensure that all fundraising activities are well-coordinated and contribute towards the overall fundraising strategy.
• Identify growth opportunities that foster organisational projects which impact and improve the Legacy programme.
• Develop and execute marketing and promotional campaigns to raise awareness of legacy giving opportunities within the organisation. Utilise various communication channels, including digital platforms, events, and printed Job Description & Person Specification materials, to effectively promote the importance of legacy giving and its impact on the organisation's mission.
