We are looking for individuals who will thrive in a fast-paced, rewarding role helping to change the lives of young people by taking up a permanent role as a part-time Programme Support Tutor. You will work closely with our existing team, supporting the delivery and organisation of the IntoUniversity programme in the centre.
The main duties of the role
To deliver the IntoUniversity programme effectively to children and young people in different settings, including schools-based workshops, Academic Support sessions and educational visits. This includes positive behaviour management and adherence to the IntoUniversity safeguarding policy.
- To assist with the organisation and delivery of the Academic Support, FOCUS and Mentoring Programmes.
- To assist the IntoUniversity Centre Leader in liaising with schools and other partner bodies, in organising the classroom and resources and in planning project delivery.
- To update and maintain IntoUniversity displays, publicity and resources.
- To work with the IntoUniversity Centre Leader to recruit children and young people to the programme, including after-school Academic Support and FOCUS Weeks.
- To develop educational resources and worksheets for use across all IntoUniversity programmes.
- To ensure compliance with all necessary regulations and legal requirements, including the Children’s Act, Children and Young People (Scotland) Act, Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act, Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, and legislation and policies related to Equal Opportunities and Health & Safety.
- To champion diversity and inclusion in your role at all times, referring to the Diversity and Inclusion Staff Responsibilities Guide.

You will be employed 188 days (of 4 hours each) per year, made up as follows:
- 164 days of work (inclusive of additional days below)
- 18 days of paid annual leave (to be taken outside of local school term times and on any bank holidays occurring during term time). For the avoidance of doubt, non-working time during school holidays which is in excess of your holiday entitlement shall be unpaid.
Additional 32 hours (or 8 days of 4 hours each)
These will be agreed between you and your line-manager, and may include days during school holidays. They will typically include three whole team meetings, one delivery team meeting and the annual staff conference. These will be pro-rated based on when you join in the academic year.
Salary
Starting salary is £28,250 (pro-rata)
Pro-rated salary is £10,885 per annum for 16
hours per week.

About the role
We’re looking for a Programme Lead to drive forward a bold, nationally significant initiative designed to support educators in responding to one of the most complex and urgent challenges facing young people today.
This project will help schools engage with issues that affect how students form beliefs, navigate digital spaces, and make sense of the world. You’ll make sure the right things happen at the right time, driving both the strategy and the detail that bring this ambitious programme to life. You’ll coordinate multiple stakeholders, shape and manage delivery timelines, and maintain project fidelity.
You will work alongside the Director of Teacher Development, as well as other colleagues from our ITE, ECF and NPQ Faculties, as well as the Research and Best Practice team. You will also work closely with diverse external stakeholders including schoolteachers and leaders and young people.

LTSB has ambitious plans to grow our income over the next few years. You will be joining our fantastic Fundraising team, which currently has three members of staff who work with trusts, foundations, institutions, companies and individuals to ensure the charity has the funds and key relationships necessary to achieve our aims.
This brand new role will support with developing and growing the number of trusts, foundations and institutions we are working with.
Income from trusts, foundations and statutory sources is an important income stream at LTSB, and you will work closely with the Fundraising Manager to develop and execute a strategy in order to grow and retain some of our existing funders, as well as bring new ones on board through effective research and prospecting.
This role would suit someone who has some experience of trust fundraising but is looking for the next step, therefore you must have experience of grant writing (five figure bids). You will have competent writing skills and experience of building and maintaining strong relationships and searching for new ones, whether online or in person. You will be enthusiastic, driven and creative with a can-do attitude. This role will have periods of high intensity. Being able to manage the highs and lows of trust and foundations fundraising is key.
As we all work remotely, you will also need to be a self-starter and be able to work independently. We would expect a thorough understanding and commitment to LTSB’s vision, mission, and work.

Who we are

What we do: we partner with schools, universities and businesses to run face-to-face and virtual coaching programmes for disadvantaged young people with relatable role models who are just a few years ahead in their life journey, we help raise their confidence, independence, resiliance and attainment. Our coahes are typically undergraduate volunteers or senior pupils in schools who we train and support to become effective coaches.
The Challenge
By the age of 5, 43% of disadvantaged young people have not reached a good level of literacy and numeracy.
57% of children from disadvantaged backgrounds leave primary schools without reaching the expected standard in reading and maths.
A disadvantaged child is 50% less likely to achieve passes in GCSE English and Maths.
Only 16% of Free School Meal eligible young people attend university, compared to more than 75% of those who attend an independent school.
1 in 3 young people frpm disadvantaged backgrounds are not in any form of sustained education, apprenticship or employment five years after their GCSEs.
1 in 5 undergraduates from disadvantaged backgrounds don't complete their degree, double the rate for the most advantaged.
Those in elite occupations from disadvantaged backgrounds earn £6,400 per year less in the same role, and take 25% longer to gain a promotion.
Our Impact
We have been delivering coaching programmes across England since 2014, supporting over 15,000 young people in that time. We have a small but growing number of programmes directly coaching undergraduates from underrepresented backgrounds (our Lifecycle programme). However, the majority of our work and impact takes place in schools, involving us training undergraduates (our Core programme) or senior pupils (our Peer to Peer programme) to be coaches to younger pupils.
We are proud that our programmes demonstrate consistently strong impact on the outcomes most closely associated with improving social mobility: attainment, social & emotional development, and school attendance.
Our most recent independent evaluation found:
Increases in maths (11.1%) and English (5.1%) attainment.
Significant improvements (min 8%) in metacognition, self-efficacy, and motivation.
Persistently absent pupils’ school attendance increased by 11%!

Role description
In the 25/26 academic year, we will be expanding our work significantly, supporting close to 3,000 young people from Cornwall to Northumberland. The majority of this growth will be through a one-year project we are running in partnership with the Education Endowment Foundation.
This project is a randomised control trial (RCT) of our Peer to Peer coaching programme, where we will be working with an additional 50 new secondary schools. We have seen consistently strong impact from this programme on the attainment, social & emotional development, and school attendance of disadvantaged young people for many years. This EEF supported RCT now gives us the opportunity to test this impact at significant scale, specifically on the maths attainment, maths self-efficacy, and school attendance of disadvantaged Y10 and Y7 pupils (see here for more details).
To support with this delivery, we are looking to recruit additional fixed-term (October 2025 - July 2026) Programme Managers, both full and part time, in the following regions:

North East (including Northumberland, Newcastle, Tyneside and Teesside) Part time, 2-3 days per week
You will have end-to-end ownership of your own allocation of programmes, which may involve a mixture of Peer to Peer, Core and Lifecycle programmes. Whilst delivering our programmes you will be required to build excellent relationships with our school and university partners, support with training and developing our undergraduate volunteers, use our evaluation frameworks to assess impact, and lead on conversations related to retention and expansion.
Candidates should be able to cover all locations in the given region they are applying for, so access to a car would be an advantage, but is not essential. At times team members may be asked to travel to a location outside of their region, but this will be rare and sufficient notice and TOIL will be given where appropriate.
All roles are on fixed term contracts starting Monday 6th October 2025 and finishing 31st July 2026. The majority of direct delivery in schools will begin early November. The first few weeks in the role will combine a mixture of induction, training, programme observations, programme set up, and volunteer recruitment for our Core programmes.
Whilst there is the potential for a permanent role beyond the length of this project, this will be based on our levels of school retention and business development, and so cannot be guaranteed.

This is important work - the CSA Centre conservatively estimates that one in ten children will experience some form of child sexual abuse before age of 16, and our ambitious programme seeks to improve the knowledge, skills and confidence of professionals (social workers, teachers, social workers, nurses etc.) in identifying and responding to child sexual abuse. We have already made great progress, but there is much more to be done – and we need your help to do it!
This role is currently funded until 31 March 2026, in line with the current grant funding arrangements for the CSA Centre. This will be reviewed in late 2025, as future funding for the CSA Centre from 2026/27 onwards is clarified.

Responsibilities will include:

We're in a fantastic position to have recently have partnered with the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) for an evaluation of our programmes.
We are now recruiting for a Programme Coordinator for our schools in Birmingham.
- The Birmingham Programme Coordinator oversees a caseload of up to seven partner schools. They manage the logistics and organisation of each school’s tutoring programme, working closely with the schools and pupils and managing the pool of volunteer tutors. JOB PURPOSE:
- To lead on the development of a healthy childhood programme for children and young people living in Sparkhill.
- To provide a range of activities for children, young people and their families which promote physical exercise and healthy eating.
- To promote the referral uptake from a range of services including the School Nurse Service, Family Hubs and GP practices.
- To monitor individual lifestyle assessments and to maintain an overview of the individual’s journey, including attendance, improvement of their lifestyle indicators etc. and capture case studies.
- Refer participants to health professionals, support providers or other agencies, reviewing the outcome to ensure their needs are met.
- Manage and monitor a caseload in line with the priorities set out in the programme including reviewing the effectiveness of the service.
- Ensure that safeguarding and wellbeing of all children and young people is adhered to.
- To ensure good relationships with parents and carers and professional partners.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive and manage referrals including self-referrals.
· Co-design personalised support to children, young people and their families referred onto the programme.
· Plan and deliver a range of physical activities suitable of the needs of children and their family’s including commissioning activities from partner services.
· Arrange and manage triage meetings with participants.
· Ensure all participants are registered onto the programme and lifestyle assessments are completed to support The Healthy Childhood Programme monitoring, evaluation and demonstration of impact.
· Provide continuity and co-ordinated support, remaining the point of contact throughout the participant’s journey with the healthy childhood programme.
· Build supportive relationships with participants, providing non-judgemental support, understanding diversity and lifestyle choices.
· Maintain good communication with participants at all times, providing them with clear written information on what has been agreed and the next steps to be taken in their journey.
· Support participants to identify the wider issues that have an impact on their health outcomes and wellbeing.
· Be a friendly source of information about healthy lifestyles and wellbeing.
· Where appropriate, introduce participants to community groups, activities and statutory services. Follow up to ensure they are happy, able to engage, included and receiving good support.
· Ensure all data, monitoring and evaluation is kept up to date and reported back as required.
· Adhere to data protection, confidentiality, information sharing protocols and provide monitoring information as required.
· Feedback on-going development, monitoring and evaluation of the programme highlighting any issues that need resolving.
· Provide regular reports detailing the progress of the service and updates as and when required.
- Put into practice the agreed policies and procedures of the organisation in order that legal, regulatory and quality standards are met.
- To work professionally as part of a team, participating in individual and team reflective youth work practice; supervision; appraisal; professional development; recording; reporting; and contributing to quality improvements as required.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records in line with data protection requirements and with respect to confidentiality at all times.
- To take part in regular reviews of the service, identify and overcome any barriers preventing people from accessing the service.
- Lead on evaluation of services delivered, providing an evaluation report to the Senior Leadership at the agreed frequency.
To complete risk benefit assessments on activities, outings and events as necessary.

Location: This is a Regional role acting as a single point of contact for Northern Ireland, Wales, Central and South England, so you can be based at a Trust Centre in Birmingham or London. We're looking for someone with a Level 6 qualification (or equivalent experience) in occupational safety and health, chartered IOSH membership (or working towards it), and a strong grasp of UK H&S legislation and risk management, particularly in events and food safety. You must be confident delivering bespoke training, leading investigations, audits, and behavioural safety initiatives independently, with experience advising senior leaders in large or complex organisations, ideally in the charity or youth sector.
