In this role you will provide line management and support to staff who work with and help women and their children who experienced domestic abuse and are staying living in our refuges. Our Lambeth refuges are culturally specific services for women and children of African and Caribbean heritage. This will include providing supervision on complex casework issues such as child protection, overseeing operational emergencies and ensuring high standards of casework.

This post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

We are Zarach, the children’s bed charity, and we’re on a mission to end child bed poverty, giving children the opportunity to engage at school and break the cycle of poverty. 

In our nearly seven years as a registered charity, we’ve captured the hearts and attention of many individuals, community groups, businesses and funders who want to support us on our mission. We’ve also been given an incredible media platform from which we have raised awareness of child bed poverty at local, regional and national levels. This support and awareness has seen us deliver over 12,000 bed bundles to children to date.

Our cause and story have captured the nation’s attention, and we have been provided with an incredible national platform that has seen us appear on local and national TV, on the radio, and in the national press. This has included appearances on BBC Breakfast, ITV News, Channel 4 News, Radio 5 Live, BBC Look North, and The Independent newspaper supported our Christmas 2023 appeal, culminating in Zarach being the front-page story on Christmas Day. 

In our short history, we have received continual funding support from a range of charitable trusts & foundations, businesses, and individuals, providing a great overall income and resources mix. 

With an estimated 4.5 million children in the UK living in poverty – including 1 million experiencing destitution and around 900,000 living in bed poverty – we have an aspiration to reach more children, in more areas of high need across the country. 

We are now looking to appoint, for the first time, a dedicated Fundraising Events Manager to work within our small and dynamic Fundraising & Supporter Engagement team. You will help us unlock the financial and awareness-raising potential that a programme of events can deliver as we seek to lift more children out of bed poverty across more parts of the country.

As our ideal candidate, you will need to be within commuting distance to our Leeds warehouse, meaning you can travel regularly to meet with the team. 

You will be someone who has proven experience in fundraising event management and/or the delivery of successful corporate events, from concept to execution. 

Alongside your fundraising-related skills and experience, we’ll be looking to see that you have a genuine care for our mission and, as such, are self-motivated to do a great job and be a values-led member of our team.

Ideally, you’ll have experience of working within a charity or not-for-profit organisation, due to some of the specialities that come with this. But charity experience is not essential if you can demonstrate an appetite and track record for continual learning and development across your working life to date.

The Role

As Senior Fundraising Manager (Major Giving), you will lead the development and implementation of an ambitious new Major Giving strategy to secure and maximise funds from high-net-worth individuals. Your focus will be on nurturing relationships with existing donors while identifying and engaging new prospects, driving initiatives including Giving Circles and Development Boards.

You will work closely with senior leadership, Trustees, and key stakeholders to craft compelling cases for support, aligning with YMCA’s ambitious new housing strategy and broader organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of major donors, developing tailored engagement strategies to inspire long-term support.
• Plan and execute donor stewardship activities, including bespoke events, face-to-face meetings, and personalised communications.
• Work with senior leadership and Trustees to build strong relationships with philanthropists and high-value supporters.
• Develop and deliver compelling proposals, impact reports, and updates to donors.
• Identify and research prospective major donors, developing strategies to engage them effectively.
• Implement YMCA’s ambitious Major Giving Strategy which projects an ever more important focus for this area.
• Oversee the Major Giving income and expenditure budget, providing accurate forecasts and performance reports.
• Collaborate with colleagues across fundraising teams to align strategies and maximise income opportunities.
• Ensure robust data management within the CRM database, adhering to GDPR and best practices.

You will have:

• Significant experience in major donor fundraising, with a track record of securing five- and six-figure gifts.
• Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to engage and influence high-value supporters.
• Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with experience in developing and implementing fundraising strategies.

Whilst delivering this project, you will work alongside 4 other Operations Officers within the AAP team, who each manage a varied portfolio of AAPs for each Section of the Award. The role will be field-based, and applicants will work from home most of the time. This role will involve some travel to attend field-based meetings when necessary.

Brentford FC Community Sports Trust

With community work spanning three decades, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust has established itself as a pioneering organisation for the local community. It uses the power of sport to educate, motivate and inspire people from all walks of life.

Working in partnership with Brentford FC, the Trust offers a portfolio of programmes in education, health, sports participation and community engagement. The Trust has won the ‘Football League Community Club of the Year’ award four times and now employs more than 150 members of staff. 

The Role 

The Clubhouse Social Café Manager will lead on the implementation of the of café (Due to open in October 2024) and will manage the Food and Beverage Operations in line with food, and health and safety regulations. You will be involved in the initial set-up of the facility. 

You  will be responsible for managing the day to day running of the café, providing a diverse of community and health wellbeing projects in collaboration with Trust Senior Manager - Health and Wellbeing. They will also manage and mentor staff and trainees to deliver an effective and inclusive service to customers.

About You 

We are looking for a passionate, inspiring catering/hospitality specialist to lead on training, mentoring and the hospitality operation of our new Clubhouse Café at Gunnersbury Park. The café is part of the new Community Sports hub at the site and will also double as a social and community space linking into community projects for all ages. Projects will include mental and physical health with the space acting as a central meeting/training hub. In this capacity you will work closely with the Trust's Health and Wellbeing Senior Manager. 

We are partnering with the homeless charity Change Please to create a West London training hub. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and training the café team. Our founder partners in the project are The University of West London (UWL) and the Premier League and Professional Footballers Association Fund. We are linking with the University to offer a range of immersive opportunities for their catering and business students and our Café Manager will link with them on a number of working projects.

The other aspect is the promotion and training in the importance of food, health and performance and the Manager will work with our Trust team to create innovative content and inspiring outreach programmes. Whilst we expect the Manager to have an active interest in food and nutrition, we plan to put some catering support and training in place to support the position.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has appropriate experience to lead the food and beverage side of the operation. They will be involved in the initial set-up of the facility (Due to open in Summer 2025) and the establishment of appropriate operation and health and safety procedures.

We have developed a sustainable business plan, however you will have the opportunity of contributing to the ongoing development plan. We have the benefit of understanding who our customers are, when they are, and even when they will arrive! To be successful in this role, you will be a motivated, flexible individual, who is passionate about working with young people around their sexual health. The postholder will conduct outreach, education, and training in several settings depending on the need of different young people. These could be educational settings, youth settings, community events, sports settings, clubs and pubs. You will target vulnerable young people, such as Looked after Children (LAC), those who are Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET), those who come from areas of high deprivation and high need, and those with other increased risk factors, as well as young people aged 13-15 who are not yet able to access online services. 

 As part of your frontline work, you will encourage young people to sign up for a C-card, and if aged over 16, register to Get It in order to order condoms and lube from the website. When appropriate, you will refer young people into appropriate local sexual health services for contraception, emergency contraception, pregnancy testing, STI screening and treatment.

Programme

METRO work closely with our partner Spectra to deliver sexual health services in the London Boroughs of Wandsworth, Richmond, Merton and Kingston. In these Boroughs, METRO deliver the Come Correct free condom scheme (C-card), the National Chlamydia Screening Programme (NCSP) as well as Get It, an online scheme which offers condoms, lube, Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea screens.

METRO also delivers training and education, aimed at both young people and professionals working with young people, as well as community outreach and engagement to reach young people directly- particularly those who are most vulnerable to sexual ill health.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join Barnardo's as a Volunteer, Befriending and Peer Mentoring Co-ordinator (Project Worker 2).

The contract is for 25 hours a week to cover the maternity leave of the substantive post holder until 31st March 2025.

Bloom is a growing service offering a unique opportunity for the right person to develop, co-ordinate and deliver our Volunteer, Befriending and Peer Mentoring work using established and innovative approaches. The Co-ordinator will be responsible for recruiting and managing a team of volunteers, befrienders and peer mentors who will help young people to improve their physical and mental well-being by supporting them to access a range of exciting activities, helping them to find new interests and hobbies and engage in healthy activities in the community

You will undertake the role of Volunteer, Befriending and Peer Mentoring Co-ordinator reporting to the Children's Service Manager and acting as line manager to the service's volunteers.

• Continued development and delivery of the Volunteer, Befriending and Peer Mentoring element of the Bloom service.

Giving young people the power to unlock their own potential for positive change, by providing them with the tools to build resilience, improve wellbeing and understand themselves better. Coaching empowers young people to think about and move forward positively in their lives, by creating and working towards specific goals through 1:1 sessions with our life coach. 

Volunteer, befriending and peer mentoring - there is a dedicated volunteer coordinator

• Volunteers – to help with activities
• Befriending - members of the local community befriend and provide ongoing assistance to service users are moving to independence
• Peer mentors – care experienced adults who can offer invaluable guidance to care experienced young people by drawing on their own experiences

Activities there are 2 engagement workers 

Giving young people regular opportunities to get together to experience activities not easily accessed by care experienced young people. Led by the expressed wishes of young people they could be experiences such as sports, adventuring, outdoor events, gardening clubs, cooking clubs.

Purpose of the Job 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clinical lead working within our Mental Health Support Teams and wider Children and Young People’s Services. As an integral part of our services, you will ensure the high-quality delivery of mental health interventions for children and young people. You will provide  clinical supervision and support to a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practice and national guidelines. This role involves overseeing the delivery of low-intensity and early intervention mental health support within schools and the community for children and young people between the ages of 5-18 (for young people with SEND under 25). In addition, you will ensure professional development and clinical governance.

Job Summary

The role includes:

• Providing case management and clinical supervision (1:1 and group) and some line management
• Supporting the team to write sensitive and appropriate reports concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of children and young people
• Carrying out clinical case file audits to ensure high quality practice and to support practitioners and trainees
• Ensuring that practitioners and trainees work within their scope of practice and adhere to professional standards
• Ensuring adherence to evidence-based practice in accordance with national guidance and national and local policies (including NHS and educational frameworks)
• Escalating referrals where the level of need is beyond the scope of the service
• Contributing to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of the MHST model
• Where appropriate, directly delivering sessions to more complex young people or families
• Support trainee practitioners and supervisors to meet the requirements of their studies
• To facilitate in person group supervision or reflective practice across CYP Services
• To manage the duty service and be part of the out of hours on-call rota advising staff on complex challenges and safeguarding

• To support Whole School Approach staff in the design and delivery of training sessions and developing engaging and accessible resources for children, parents and school staff
• Working with the service manager to establish our presence in schools and the local college and support the on-going delivery and development of our work in partnership with school leaders and other professionals
• Giving timely advice to school staff and liaising with external specialist local services to help children and young people to get the right support and stay in education
• Building and maintaining partnership relationships (e.g. CAMHS, Youth Offending Teams, Educational Psychologists)
• Participate in  complex case discussions and contribute to multi-agency safeguarding processes.

• Oversee the quality of case-recording and documentation on a clinical database (IAPTUS)
• Ensure that all follow up and records maintenance is done within the project timelines and to a high standard
• Contribute to the quarterly reporting to the commissioners on quality assurance from the clinical point of view
• Represent the MHST and HFEH Mind at external meetings
• Attend regular team meetings as agreed with the service manager
• Attend and successfully complete all mandatory training as required by HFEH Mind

Person Specification

Essential

• Professional qualification (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing).
• Accreditation with a relevant professional body (e.g., HCPC, BACP, UKCP, BPS, BABCP, NMC, Social Work England).
• Significant experience (minimum of 5 years) in child and adolescent mental health, including direct work with children and families with complex needs
• Experience of providing clinical supervision to practitioners working with children
• Strong understanding of evidence-based interventions (e.g. CBT, trauma-informed approaches)
• Experience of managing risk and safeguarding concerns
• Excellent communication skills and non-judgmental approach to working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Understanding of neurodiversity and the needs of children with additional or complex needs and an adaptable approach to what works

Desirable

• Knowledge of the MHST model, early intervention, and school-based mental health services

About the role

As an Experienced Practitioner, you will provide direct support and care for our young people who have complex emotional and mental health difficulties (such as trauma and loss) and can struggle to regulate their emotions. Working within a therapeutic framework, you will develop a direct programme of work aimed at developing authentic relationships with our young people (aged 16 – 24 years old), you will also have responsibility for making sure our residents are safe, providing support, liaison with other professionals and completion of support documents to record information.

Throughout the Waking Night shift, you will have the additional support of an on-call manager should there be any emergencies. Further to this, you will be involved in monthly team meetings and receive monthly supervision.

Roles and Responsibilities

Grant Operations (55%)

• Lead on the implementation of a recent grantmaking review, conducted by the Impact Team, including revision of key grant templates and processes: due diligence, proposal development, assessment rubric, recommendation reports, reporting, partner surveys and grant exit. 
• Lead on the summary of progress towards our grantmaking KPIs, providing detailed reports and recommendations for the SLT, Impact Committee and Trustees on a quarterly basis.
• Lead on the management and development of our Impact Committee, a formal governance body overseeing our grantmaking and impact, comprising 4 Youth Advisory Board members and 4 Trustees.
• Ensure that the Youth Advisory Board has sufficient opportunity to feed into (and shape) activities of the impact team, by collaborating with the Senior Youth Participation Manager
• Support the development and implementation of our new CRM system, ensuring data is captured by Partnership Managers and kept up to date.
• Support the Impact team to identify potential grant applicants by researching organisations in fields and geographies of interest to Mission 44, networking and attending relevant events
• Support Partnership Managers as they lead the day-to-day grant assessment and relationship management with our partners. Support the Impact team to maintain relationships and regular communication with our grantees, including site visits and attendance at partners’ events.

Funder Plus (20%)

• Work with the Impact Team to implement (and continually improve) our Funder Plus programme, ready for delivery in 2026/27 - with input and consultation from a range of internal and external stakeholders
• Meanwhile in 2025/26, support the Partnership Managers in their aim to provide additional support beyond financial grants which help our grantees to build their capacity, leadership potential and resilience - this is likely to involve regular communication with the fundraising team and liaison with our major corporate partners

Research, Learning and Evaluation (15%)

• Lead on the data collection and impact reporting processes which have been developed to capture learning, evidence and impact data from our programmatic work. 
• Support our partnership managers to use the data collection and impact reporting processes, ensuring we’re able to collect and analyse key impact data on a regular basis
• Work with our Head of  Strategy and Learning and colleagues in the Impact team to help us clearly and confidently articulate the difference we’re making as a foundation. 
• Identify opportunities to improve the systems and processes we use to generate appropriate impact data, research, case studies and evidence of our impact 
• Identify opportunities to collate and share learning across the Mission 44 team, to influence and inform our future grant-making and organisational strategy
• Build and maintain strong relationships with a range of peer grantmakers, charities, and other external stakeholders within the philanthropic sector, identifying opportunities for Mission 44 to share our learning externally, where appropriate.

Fundraising and Communications (10%)

• Support fundraising efforts by providing data and case studies to include in fundraising proposals and grant reports
• Support engagement between our partners and our donors, by facilitating the delivery of skills-based volunteering activities

About You 

Skills and experience

• Experience of working with a grantmaking organisation, as a researcher and/or grant-maker 
• Experience developing new/improved grantmaking systems and processes, and supporting the successful implementation of these processes within your organisation
• Strong project management skills 
• Experience of using grant management and/or database systems eg Salesforce or other CRM systems
• Experience of managing complex partnerships or contracts
• Proven experience of building and maintaining relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
