Job description

Passionate About Empowering Young People?

Step Into a Leadership or Frontline Role with Urban Youth!

Urban Youth is a bold, new youth work charity that exists to inspire, connect, and elevate young lives across London. As we build our movement from the ground up, we’re looking for experienced youth workers—from visionary managers to dedicated trainers and frontline staff—ready to shape programmes, guide volunteers, and transform futures.

Whether your strength is strategic leadership, programme development, or direct mentorship, we want to hear from you.

The Roles We’re Looking to Fill

We're assembling a powerhouse team of youth practitioners to lead and deliver our growing mission.

Current voluntary roles include:

  • Urban Youth Manager – Spearhead strategy and organisational development in our early growth phase.

  • Youth Work Manager – Lead programme innovation and support the delivery of high-quality youth services.

  • Lead Youth Workers – Guide volunteers and lead youth-facing activities across key programmes and locations.

  • Youth Work Trainers – Support, upskill and inspire volunteers and early-career youth workers through impactful training.

  • Youth Workers – Deliver sessions, build trusted relationships with young people, and be a steady presence in their development journey. There are also opportunities to later create specific youth work roles such as Employability, Sports, Mental Health, etc.

These flexible roles typically require 3–6 hours per week, with opportunities to scale as the charity grows.

Why Join Urban Youth Now?

  • Shape the Blueprint: You’ll play a foundational role in shaping a youth-led movement that puts connection, empowerment and inclusion front and centre.

  • Lead With Purpose: Bring your skills, ideas, and heart to a charity that’s as passionate about values as it is about action.

  • Grow a Movement, Not Just a Programme: Be part of designing systems, policies, and practices that could redefine youth work in London.

  • Support a Diverse City, Authentically: We’re dedicated to reflecting London’s richness—with equity and belonging embedded in everything we do.

  • Mentor and Multiply Impact: Through training, leadership and example, your experience will ripple across volunteers and young people alike.

Who You Are

  • A qualified and experienced youth worker with a track record of working with diverse young people in urban settings.

  • A clear, compassionate communicator—skilled in mentoring, facilitating, and creating safe spaces.

  • A reflective practitioner who values participation, safeguarding and developmentally appropriate practice.

  • A believer in the power of youth voice, creativity, and collective growth.

  • A positive role model that can guide, nurture and inspire young people.

If you’re ready to help shape a bold new chapter in youth work, we’d love to meet you.

Apply now via the Charity Job website. Let’s co-create something powerful.
