Job description

RANGER CADETS — CURRICULUM & PROGRAMME LEAD (VOLUNTEER ROLE)

Shape the programme. Shape the future. Help young people become leaders.

Ranger Cadets is a youth organisation with a simple mission: prepare young people aged 11–21 for life through service, community, skills and positive leadership.

We’re independent. We’re inclusive. We’re volunteer‑powered. And right now, we’re building something special — a programme that gives young people confidence, purpose, and real opportunities to contribute to their community.

To make that happen, we need a Curriculum & Programme Lead who can turn our mission into a powerful, engaging, life‑changing youth programme.

If you’ve ever wanted to design something meaningful… If you’ve ever wanted to build a youth programme from the ground up… If you believe young people deserve opportunities, not obstacles… This is your moment.

THE VOLUNTEER ROLE: Build the Ranger Cadets Programme from Day One

As our Curriculum & Programme Lead, you will be the architect of everything our cadets experience — from weekly sessions to skills modules, leadership development, and community service projects.

You will:

  • Design a fun, modern, meaningful curriculum that prepares young people for life

  • Build skills modules around leadership, teamwork, communication, community service and practical life skills

  • Create cadet progression pathways (Recruit → Cadet → Senior Cadet → Corporal → Sergeant)

  • Develop community service projects that make a real impact

  • Support Youth Leaders with session plans, training and resources

  • Ensure every activity reflects our values: service, community, inclusivity, positive leadership

  • Help shape a programme that young people will be proud to be part of

This is not a paperwork role. This is a creative, strategic, youth‑impact role.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Someone who:

  • Loves designing activities, programmes or learning experiences

  • Believes youth work should be exciting, empowering and inclusive

  • Has ideas — lots of them — and wants to turn them into reality

  • Understands how to build confidence, teamwork and leadership in young people

  • Can collaborate with volunteers, youth leaders and community partners

  • Wants to make a visible difference in their community

You don’t need formal teaching experience. You don’t need qualifications. You just need passion, creativity, and a heart for young people.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

Because the programme you build will:

  • Help young people find confidence

  • Give them skills they’ll use for life

  • Connect them to their community

  • Teach them leadership through action

  • Show them they matter — and they can make a difference

Your work will shape every cadet’s journey. Your ideas will become their experiences. Your leadership will become their opportunity.

WHAT YOU’LL BE PART OF

Ranger Cadets is:

  • Independent

  • Inclusive

  • Community‑focused

  • Volunteer‑powered

  • Committed to giving young people real opportunities to grow

We partner with local organisations, support community events, and help young people contribute positively to the world around them.

You won’t just be joining a youth organisation. You’ll be helping build a movement.

READY TO BUILD SOMETHING THAT MATTERS?

If you’re excited by the idea of designing a programme that inspires young people, challenges them, supports them, and prepares them for life — we’d love to hear from you.

  1. Join Ranger Cadets.
  2. Build the programme.
  3. Shape the future.
