We are looking for new Oliver McGowan Expert with Lived Experience Co-trainers to join our Connections team in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. We are looking for  applicants who have either a learning difficulty and/or are autistic people.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity in a new role as an Oliver McGowan Expert with Lived Experience Co-trainer to join our team covering Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The job is to train people who work in health and social care about learning disabilities and autism.  This will help health and social care staff to better understand the needs of people with learning disabilities and autistic people.

About you

You will need to have a learning disability and/or be an autistic person.  You will need to talk in front of groups of up to 30 people and be able to understand what they are saying to you.  We will give you training to do this. 

You will need to:

· learn what you need to do to give the training

· be ready and organised for the work you do, and

· be able to organise your time.

The training will be delivered as part of a team, you will never be doing this work on your own.

How will you make a difference?

You will be helping health and social care staff understand how to better listen and communicate with people with learning disabilities and/or autistic people.

As we celebrate our 16th Birthday year, We Are Survivors are currently looking for an individual that has the passion, drive and determination to help us deliver our OUT Spoken Talking Therapy Services (prison based).

We Are Survivors provide survivor-focused therapeutic and advocacy support to male (including Trans and Non-binary) victims/survivors, and their loved ones, of sexual harms. We have developed a three-tiered approach to services and underpin everything we do with a ‘trauma and recovery’ framework pioneered by Dr Judith Herman.

We are currently commissioned to deliver trauma-informed therapy services in 15 prisons across the Northwest of England and we need your help delivering these services in:

· HMP Haverigg (Part-time – 2 days per week)

Believe you are right for this role?

You will be a qualified counsellor / psychotherapist who holds at least a Diploma in Counselling / Psychotherapy or equivalent and be registered with BACP or equivalent (preferably an accredited member). You will understand issues relating to trauma, be able to work as part of a team and feel confident working in a prison setting.

In return for your time, experience, and commitment to the organisation, you will receive an annual salary of £11,124.00; annual leave and bank holiday package; annual length of service increase; birthday leave; company sick pay; monthly clinical supervision; pension contribution; a range of training opportunities; and access to different benefit schemes.

Note: salary and annual leave is based on WTE.

Home-Start Barnet delivers early intervention programmes to families with young children, who have multiple needs and are struggling to cope with the challenges they face. Our trained volunteers provide the emotional support needed to prevent crisis and the practical tools to empower parents and carers to give their children the best start in life.

Key responsibilities are to:

• Handle all incoming communications - phone, email and other communications
• Provide central administration support to the charity
• Support and build engagement across different social media channels
• Update content for HSB’s website
• Support and help organise training and events

The role is based at our offices in Finchley, N3. Due to the nature of our work, we require someone to be present in the office 5 days a week. We have a welcoming and relaxed office environment, but also take pride in our professional standards.
