We’re looking for a youth worker to plan, deliver and facilitate educational and cultural activities to separated children (up to 21 years old) in the context of an interactive youth club held weekly in partnership with CARAS (Community Action for Refugees & Asylum Seekers) in South West London. Although you will prepare and deliver the materials, you will be supported by the Programme Coordinator from CARAS, along with CARAS volunteers.

About the role:
As a Sports Youth Worker you will deliver and supervise face to face sports and activity sessions for young people, supporting session planning and general programming. You’ll lead a wide mix of activities, run taster sessions, organise competitions and challenges that develop skills, confidence and fitness, and provide coaching and support for young people and volunteer activity coaches.

The centre offers a diverse range of facilities including a Fitness Suite, a multi purpose Sports Hall, a Boxing and MMA room and a MUGA astroturf space for games and outdoor activities. Depending on your skills, you’ll work across these areas to help young people get active, stay motivated and reach their potential.

About you:
We are seeking sports and activity coaches from a range of backgrounds such as PE teachers, football or basketball coaches, personal trainers, multi sports coaches, youth workers with activity experience, or anyone with a strong general sports background who loves working with young people. The skills and experience required include:

• Experience of working with groups of young people aged 8 to 19 or up to 25 with a disability
• A genuine passion for sports, fitness and engaging young people in positive activities

Desirable but not essential:

• Experience delivering general sports or physical activity based sessions
• NGB coaching awards in any sport

Purpose of the job

This role is responsible for the design of UK Youth’s support to young people, youth organisations and youth workers. This could include structured youth work programmes, funding and grants+ programmes, professional development programmes, and campaigns.

This is an opportunity to run engaging and informative group mentoring sessions for young people aged 10-11 in the Lambeth area. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering these sessions, as well as liaising with local schools and promoting Knights Youth Centre to the wider community. 

Key responsibilities will include: 

1. To deliver group workshops, including games, discussions, as well as offering emotional and informative support for children aged 10-11.

2. To represent Knights Youth Centre with teachers, parents, partners, funders, and key agencies as necessary.

3. To develop strong, professional relationships with young people.

4. To build and maintain relationships with local schools, including school staff, teachers and occasionally parents.

5. To assist the Oasis KYC team in recording and measuring the impact services have on the young people. (Most significant change stories, Outcomes Star model or similar)

6. To support the team in ensuring services delivered are relevant and accessible.

7. To undertake any other tasks relevant to the post contained within the Centre’s Service plan or individual work plan.

8. To be sympathetic to the aims of Knights Youth Centre and to work within the professional boundaries and policies at Knights Youth Centre.

The successful post holder must have:

· Proven experience of working with young people in a youth club or school setting.

· Experience of running engaging workshops for young people, that promote life skills and positive wellbeing.

· Experience of working with SEN and at-risk young people

· An understanding of the challenges impacting families and young people in Lambeth

Youth Project Worker

Transform the lives of  young people with learning disabilities and autism who are avoiding school . Use creativity, advocacy and relationship-building to help them articulate their needs, re-enter education and rebuild social connections.

You'll work with 35 young people with learning disabilities and autism in Coventry each year , helping them to:

• Articulate their needs and wishes through creative one-to-one advocacy and support
• Re-enter education in a way that works for them as complex individuals
• Re-build social skills and connections to protect their wellbeing and enrich their lives

These young people may be learning-disabled or autistic, in special or mainstream education, or not in education, employment or training (NEET). They include school avoiders, those on reduced timetables, and young people with unmet mental health needs. Without support, their outcomes are often bleak - but you can change that.

What You'll Do

You'll meet young people where they feel most comfortable - at times that suit them, using WhatsApp, Zoom, or face-to-face. Together, you'll:

• Create multimedia person-centred 'back to learning and community' plans using video, voice recording, photographs, artwork or graphics
• Build their confidence through weekly one-to-one sessions, with gradual group engagement on their terms
• Advocate for their views and support them to develop self-advocacy skills
• Connect them with meaningful opportunities across the city
• Work collaboratively with parents, schools, and other professionals
• Complete risk assessments, travel plans and project monitoring

A fun and creative touch is essential - you'll co-design all activities with young people, focusing on what matters to them.

About the Role

You will work as part of a supportive team delivering assessment, guidance and move on support to young people aged 16 to 18 who are leaving care. About Us:

Baca is dedicated to providing support and care to 16 to 18 year old unaccompanied asylum seeking children who are newly arrived in the country, helping them rebuild their strength, dignity, and hope for the future. We work closely with social workers and representatives from other agencies to benefit the young people in our care.

Role Overview:

As a Support Worker, you will be a key worker for several young people in Baca's care, providing high-quality holistic and therapeutic support for their transition to adulthood. You will deliver services in line with Baca’s Theory of Change, ensuring the highest quality outcomes in physical and emotional wellbeing, education, employment, training, social engagement, and personal safety.

Young People Support Worker (Warrington)

We are seeking someone passionate about supporting young people to build confidence, stability and independence.

Position: Young People Support Worker

Salary: £24,136 per year plus pension and benefits

About the role

As Young People Support Worker you will work under the direction, guidance and support of a manager/senior worker you will be responsible for a caseload of clients as well as share responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all clients, volunteers and staff in the service. You will participate in our programme of meaningful activity by running group sessions and activities within the accommodation to support young people’s individual development and social engagement.

In accommodation based services you will ensure that the accommodation is properly maintained and support the client to sustain their tenancy and participate in positive and successful move on.

You will work a rolling rota of daytimes, evenings and weekends (some shifts will be lone working) including bank holidays to ensure that young people have full staff support during their most difficult times.

Key responsibilities include:

· Completing risk and needs assessments and creating SMART support plans

· Providing one to one and group support within the accommodation

· Encouraging participation in education, training, employment and volunteering

· Supporting young people to settle in and maintain their accommodation

· Maintaining accurate case records and handling petty cash and rent collection

· Ensuring the accommodation environment is safe, welcoming and well maintained

· Working a rota including evenings, weekends and some lone working

· Working collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers and local partner agencies

About you

You will bring a calm, patient and supportive approach, with the ability to build trust and encourage young people to reach their goals. Experience working with young people, or those who have faced homelessness, mental health difficulties, substance misuse or time in care, will be important.

We are looking for:

· Experience of working with young people or those who have experienced homelessness

· An understanding of the needs of people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, substance misuse or the care system

· A knowledge and understanding of Risk Assessments and Support Planning

· Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills

· High level understanding of professional boundaries and ability to maintain these

Jigsaw4u’s Piece of Mind Service helps 11 to 25 year-old young people in SW London overcome depression and/or anxiety. We are seeking 1 full-time counsellor, or 2 part-time counsellors, to support 15 referrals over 3 months, in the London Boroughs of Kingston and Richmond. 

There is the potential for this fixed-term contract to become permanent. 

Each young person receives 6 to 16 targeted, evidence based therapeutic support sessions.  Support sessions will be delivered at our Kingston-Upon Thames hub, at school, home or in the community where appropriate. The counsellor will liaise with parents/carers, and referrers and partner agencies as appropriate. They will evaluate the interventions through use of Outcomes Star and other agreed measurement tool.

 We have a multi-disciplinary team of Specialist Support Practitioners and Therapists, with a proud 27-year history and values that are informed by our shared experiences and feedback from our service-users.

 We work with community and statutory partners to deliver over 24 services, including support for pre and post bereavement, depression and anxiety, young people in the care system or leaving care, domestic violence, young victims of crime, prisoners’ families and parenting programmes.
