The role

As Forward Action’s Partnerships Officer, you’ll support the Partnerships Director to build and maintain strong relationships with our partners, so we can help them achieve change on everything from climate change to refugee rights. 

In this fast-paced role, you’ll manage the administration side of our partnerships, from initial contact and briefing, through proposal management, all the way to issuing contracts and drafting scopes. You’ll work across multiple projects and deadlines, managing processes, organising meetings, following up action points, and keeping accurate partnership records.

The role

This important role sits within our Supply Chain and Logistics team, responsible for processing offers of surplus food from our food partners into our network of Regional Centres and the wider community. This role is essential in ensuring that the food we are offered reaches the thousands of charities and community groups we support across the UK.

The role is a combination of customer service provision and supply chain coordination with a strong data focus. You will analyse varied datasets to decide how food is distributed across our Network to ensure optimal and sustainable distribution. You will also be responsible for continuing and championing the high levels of customer service we provide to the food industry and our network of Regional Centres.

You will work closely with FareShare’s food suppliers, transport partners, and our Regional Centres to identify and overcome operational challenges to distribution. The successful candidate will also work closely with our Food Commercial team to ensure our food partners receive excellent operational support and customer service. We are continually evolving our processes and you will work within a culture of continuous improvement to improve operations within the team.

Main areas of responsibility

Food Industry Customer Service

• Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring offers are responded to and processed within agreed service level requirements
• Work closely with the Food Commercial Managers, providing feedback and reporting on service issues and attending meetings and site visits as appropriate
• Assist Food Team with insight and feedback from food businesses, capturing key account information in our CRM system

 Regional Centre allocation

• Adhere to the requirements of the Network Service Level Agreement
• Work with the Supply Chain and Logistics Manager to match food supplied to Regional Centre needs, always working to maximise surplus redistribution and minimise waste 
• Ensure that offers are allocated in an efficient and timely manner according to network needs and agreed priorities to maximise social impact of surplus food
• Using our CRM system, maintain timely records of accounts, allocations, offers and case management
• Maintain high standards of customer service to the Network and Operations teams and develop respectful and effective working relationships with the Regional Centres.

Logistics and transport

• Work with Commercial Managers and hauliers to implement best practice processes and reduce costs for FareShare whilst maximising acceptance of food
• Work with hauliers to plan transport requirements and ensure that we are able to meet network demand
• Work with Regional Centres to coordinate and plan routes for internal FareShare logistics
• Reactively solve transport issues throughout the working day

Data and Analysis

• Use FareShare PowerBI reports to ensure optimal product allocation within contract requirements
• Specify, build, monitor and analyse Salesforce reports to increase efficiency of allocation
• Use dashboards to monitor network issues
• Lead regional network agreement service level review meetings
• Report on data integrity issues to the Network Analyst

Team coordination and representation

• Support the Team providing assistance and cover when required e.g. during busy periods, annual leave and sickness to ensure an even spread of work across the team

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Retention

• Administer the recruitment process by placing job adverts into the template on Canva, removing expired job adverts from the THET website; downloading applications; setting up interviews

Our freelance School Engagement Officers introduce the highly impactful Breck’s story into schools and other youth and community spaces across the country and deliver inspiring, educational talks to students, parents and guardians, teachers, and other groups in a ‘whole community’ approach.

Breck Foundation is at the forefront of efforts to safeguard children and young people online. Our organisation was founded in 2014 in response to the tragic loss of Breck Bednar, a 14-year-old boy who was groomed and murdered by someone he met online. Our work aims to prevent this from ever happening again. Our work saves lives. We reach thousands of children and young people in schools and other community settings with Breck's story every year. Our talks and educational materials fill a gap in the current UK curriculum that otherwise leaves children vulnerable to online grooming and exploitation. • Research speaking opportunities and engage/build sustainable relationships with schools and other youth spaces with the aim of securing speaking engagements (known as bookings).

• Represent the Foundation in a professional manner and to protect and advance the Foundation’s profile in all engagements, including to work collaboratively with other colleagues to identify new ways to raise awareness of the foundation’s mission and to help expand their scope, reach and geographical coverage and income generation capabilities.

• If delivering bookings, carryout pre- and post-delivery engagements, including sharing pre and post presentation packs with schools and actively seeking feedback, testimonials and even Vox Pops where possible; and to log these on Salesforce.

You will work with diverse groups within the community who may not currently use the National Cycle Network and enable them to use and look after their local route.

About the role

The Regional Communications Officer role is an exciting, varied position working with Emmaus communities located in the South East region of the UK to increase their profile and engage supporters.

You will work closely with the Emmaus communities in your patch to identify their communications needs and plan and deliver a mix of work to help achieve their goals. As part of a wider team, you will also share ideas and draw on each other’s experiences to maximise PR, digital and communications opportunities.

A typical working week within this role can include:

This is a part time position working four days per week (30 hours), Monday to Friday.

Within this role, you can be based at home or in an Emmaus community. Wherever you are based, maintaining positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders is vitally important.  The current patch for this role is Emmaus Brighton & Hove, Emmaus Greenwich and Emmaus Dover. Regular travel to these three communities will be required (usually one community visit per week). Travel to team meetings, usually held in Birmingham, and other locations will also be required on occasion.

Who are we looking for?

We require someone with a strong skillset and at least two years’ experience working in a busy communications, public relations or marketing role. Although not essential, knowledge and understanding of homelessness and the charity sector would also be an advantage.

Creativity and passion are a must. You will have a broad range of communications skills, love seeing your creative ideas come to life and keen to develop your skillset within a national homelessness charity.

Join us as a Funding Officer and you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference to communities across the region. Working as part of the Yorkshire and the Humber team as part of a team of 20 colleagues you will combine hybrid working - either from home, our Leeds office adjacent to Leeds station, or project visits, to understand how and where amazing people and organisations are transforming neighbourhoods.

If you have previous experience for a funder, then that is great but it’s not a necessity. 

• You will need to be confident with comprehension and writing because you will be working with those applying for grants to advise and support them as necessary to develop proposals including project budgets. 
•  You’ll work with your colleagues to assess and recommend projects for funding. Some days you’ll be attending funders fairs, in person or online, whilst on others you may be meeting with Councils or other funders to share information about need and funding in a particular neighbourhood.
• You’ll also have responsibility for overseeing a portfolio of projects to ensure they are on track. If you have experience of the voluntary sector that would be ideal, particularly in South Yorkshire or West Yorkshire.

About the opportunity
As our Digital Marketing Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Marketing Manager and broader team in volunteer and school recruitment efforts, while managing our social media presence. Your primary responsibilities will include managing and curating content for Action Tutoring's social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and TikTok.

Duties and responsibilities

We are at an exciting stage in our growth and are looking for a Finance & Admin Officer to support our growing operational workflows.

How you will make a difference

Your role will enable smooth and efficient financial and administrative workflows at GFI Europe. Reporting to the Head of Operations, your work will fall under the following categories:

50% of time – Payment processing and bookkeeping

• Making payments correctly and on time with respect to invoices, direct debit setup, expense reimbursements, as well as salaries and payroll taxes.
• Day-to-day bookkeeping, including registering journal entries and all financial transactions in our accounting software (currently Quickbooks), and supporting monthly reconciliations. 
• Coordinating the calculation and payment of quarterly reverse-charged cross-border VAT payments.
• Where there are opportunities for improvement, working in partnership with colleagues from the Operations team to implement systems that facilitate easier and more efficient payment processes.

25% of time – Budget forecast and reporting

• Forecasting regular and recurring expenses for the annual budgeting process and for periodic budget reviews.
• Preparing monthly updates on budget spending per department / project.
• Collaborating with our Development team to track and report against restricted donations.
• Organising information needed for the Belgium annual financial audit process as well as for UK financial reporting. 

25% of time – General administration

• Supporting governance, compliance and reporting for our Belgium entity, as well as the UK branch of GFI Europe and potentially other entities in the future.
• Supporting other departments with contract administration by inputting partnership data in templates, filling in relevant forms, coordinating signatures, organising and keeping track of finalised agreements.
• Performing other tasks as required as a member of our small, dynamic team.

You must have:

Benefits and the fine print

• Terms of employment: Part-time (27-30 hours / week). Flexible working hours.
• Location: We can consider applicants based in the UK or Belgium. This is a remote role, and you will be able to work from home, or anywhere you choose (within the UK or Belgium). The whole GFI Europe team aims to get together in person approximately twice per year for around 3-5 days at a time. Travel costs will be covered by GFI Europe within our travel policy.
• Salary and benefits: The salary and benefits package for all of our roles are researched and benchmarked based on similar nonprofit roles in the country/location of hire. Full-time (to be pro-rated) ranges (total amounts received in gross salary plus benefits including home-working allowance) are:
  • €2,500 – 3,000 monthly if based in Belgium, plus 13th month and holiday pay 
  • £31,600 – 36,000 annually if based in the UK
