Management AccountantLocation: Central LondonContract: PermanentSalary: Up to £40K + BenefitsBadenoch + Clark Public Sector Team are proud to be partnering with a government organisation based in Central London to appoint a Management accountant within the group accounting team. Our client is one of the leading providers in supplying communities with affordable housing across London.The RoleThe purpose of this role is to provide support for the Finance & Operations of the company by partnering with the business to monitor and forecast operational costs, provide financial support to projects and to develop and enhance internal reports. Assist Reporting and Planning Manager (RPM) in budgeting, forecasting, month end process, internal and external reporting. The role reports to the Reporting and Planning Manager.Key Responsibilities:The key responsibilities of the role are to:*Prepare the Operational Finance section of the Management Information Pack (MIP) and coordinate the overall consolidation of the pack.*Assist the business, by providing financial information, in producing ad-hoc board papers.*Work with budget holders, to prepare annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and monthly cost centre packs.*Manage monthly operational costs reporting to stakeholders including capital spend for projects. *Lead the monthly review of the cost centre performance against forecast and budget. Monitor underspends and overspends to allow optimum use of company funds. As well as highlighting trends, the successful candidate will analyse causes and prepare supporting commentary.*Provide support to departments (particularly HR and Procurement) that need regular assistance from Finance.*Produce journals, reports and monthly reconciliations to assist Reporting and Planning Manager.*Manage the reporting interface.*Provide support and aid in the review of the Accounts Analyst's work.*Assist the Reporting and Planning Manager in developing KPIs for the business and individual departments*Regularly calculate and report on the developed KPIs*Manage new supplier set up process and supplier listing.Skills, Knowledge and Experience*Part qualified, finalist or qualified accountant*Ideally experience from with Public Sector, Government or Housing exposure *Educated to degree level or equivalent*You will have professional gravitas to influence stakeholders at a senior level and generally strong skills in negotiation and persuasion. *Experience working in a finance role including:*Preparation of management reporting*Business partnering*Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and extensive user experience of ERP software.*Experience of dealing with business intelligence tools would be desirable*Good written and verbal communication skills*Ability to establish relationships with a range of people across the business to support delivery of business outcomes*Be willing to be flexible to meet the challenges of a younger business *Produce work on a timely basis while maintaining qualityPlease do apply with your most recent CV for immediate consideration.
