- Manage the fundraising team to ensure an effective, proactive and professional fundraising approach is maintained at all times
- Work closely with the Development Director to establish fundraising priorities and set achievable fundraising goals together with the strategies to deliver the Fundraising Strategy
- Identify potential sources of funds and develop CHF’s Case for Support
- Manage and take responsibility for major projects and events
- Support the Development Director in managing major donors
You will have a breadth of experience and a wealth of knowledge of different fundraising channels, be a team player, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be a confident public speaker. Overview
Assist the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in the daily management of Involve Community Services. Deputise and lead on area of development and support (business networking & coaching) for the local voluntary and community sector as well as communities across Bracknell Forest and Wokingham Borough.
Core Tasks and Responsibilities
- Deputise for the CEO as required.
- Support the CEO in identifying new development opportunities for the charity and wider sector.
- Nurture new programmes of work in consultation with the CEO.

- Lead an internal weekly catch up/ info sharing meeting with the Development Team members – allocating work and sharing intelligence.
- Support policy development in consultation with the CEO.
- Lead on the promotion and development of the Advantage Package.
- Network and build relations with local partners including the Voluntary and Community Sector, statutory providers, businesses and other interested parties.
- Identify and support community initiatives/ community resilience exercises, not deviating from Involves core focus and maintaining strong exit strategies from any projects.
- Instigate forums/ networks as required to support communities/actions/ initiatives/ themes with partners and organisations.
- Contribute to the development of the service by advising Management of areas of particular need, new opportunities and local development.
- Attend meetings and carry out other duties as requested.
- Undertake other duties that support the operations of Involve Community Services and the wider Voluntary and Community Sector.

The role
The Programme Manager, reporting to the Head of Education, has responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Institute’s Awards and Alumni Programme. The Programme Manager will maintain the existing portfolio of awards, and explore new strategies and activity to engage current and previous Salters’ Award and Prize winners. This role will involve proactively building and managing internal and external stakeholder relationships. The Awards and Alumni Programme offers the opportunity to combine face-to-face and digital engagement. The role of the Awards and Alumni Programme Manager sits in the Education Team, which has five members in total.

Responsibilities
Strategy
- Develop the implementation/ delivery plan for new and existing awards/prizes in line with the Institute’s Education Strategy.
- Develop the annual provision for Salters’ Alumni in line with the Institute’s Education Strategy.
Programme Management
- Lead on the delivery of the A level, Graduate, Centenary Awards and Technician Awards, and support with the Todd-Salters’ Scholarship and City and Guilds Prize.
- Oversee the full Awards Programme cycle from advertising awards to notification of award and prize winners.
- Implement and develop project plans to ensure that time specific milestones for the delivery of the programme are met.

Finance
- Manage the budgets for the Awards and Alumni Programme, ensuring accurate and detailed reporting of income and expenditure.
- Investigate and explore potential new funding streams, developing funding proposals in conjunction with the Head of Education.
Stakeholder Management and Networking
- Build effective working relationships with internal and external Awards and Alumni Programme stakeholders including previous winners, students, teachers, technicians, senior leaders in education and industry, university teaching and outreach staff, funders and Company members.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure the internal visibility of the Awards and Alumni Programme.
Communications
- Develop key messaging and content of all programme-related communications, with appropriate language and tone for the designated target audience.
- Collaborate with the Communications Officer to develop Comms Plans that engage and build relevant, appropriate and engaging content for social media channels and our websites.
- Support and be an active presence in networks and fora that promote innovative practice in science education and outreach.

About the roles
These new posts offer an exciting opportunity to play a driving role in launching a new package of services for young people across the economically disadvantaged but beautifully diverse East Ham area of Newham. Each role is 36 hours per week and for an initial fixed term period of 2 years pending further funding. Our ideal candidates will have significant youth work experience, a passion for working with young people from diverse backgrounds and a high level of motivation to develop an excellent and impactful youth offer. You will be excellent relationship builders that are enthused by partnership working, and given current circumstances you will also need to be creative in your approach to adapt youth engagement offers safely and in line with Covid-19 restrictions. You will need to demonstrate that you are professional, organised, efficient and able to manage our sessional youth staff, sports coaches, junior leaders and workshop providers. You will also have a robust understanding of safeguarding policy and procedures.
With one role based predominantly at BDCA (London E6) and the other at RP (London E12), you will work together to plan, lead, manage and evaluate sessions in venues across the East Ham community, ensuring project outcomes are effectively delivered. Key shared project outcomes are:
- Provide safe places to enjoy = at least 6 venues will be open for a total of 1759 hours of youth activities each year.
- Increase youth engagement = Each year, at least 495 unique young people will access our regular activities and accredited courses and feel a greater sense of community connection as a result.
- Grow youth leadership = Each year, at least 45 young people will receive intensive year-long support to achieve their best and build their hope and agency to make positive change in their own lives and in their wider community too through accredited youth leadership courses and social action campaigns.
- Deliver inspiring and diverting activities = Each year, the programme will deliver at least 25 co-produced activities including sports, creative arts, wellbeing workshops, free play, tuition support, educational workshops, offsite trips, training and mentoring.
Each role will however have slightly different areas of responsibility as follows:
Youth co-ordinator 1 (BDCA)
This post holder will be specifically responsible for coordinating: four outdoor MUGA sports sessions and one outdoor BMX session per week; year round Saturday volunteering sessions for young sports leaders; support to complete Duke of Edinburgh award scheme led by specialist partner and an annual music production project led by specialist provider. They will also be directly delivering: three virtual activity videos per month; two annual residentials for 15 participants; three-week summer volunteering placement with accredited Sports Leadership Award for 30 participants; monthly Stepping Up life skills training and social action campaign planning workshops plus regular mentoring calls for 15 participants; annual music premiere event for up to 100 attendees; and 10 day trips per year for up to 15 participants.
Youth co-ordinator 2 (RP)
This post holder will be specifically responsible for coordinating and delivering five evening youth clubs per week including a tuition club, journalism club and three drop-in free play sessions with creative workshops. They will be charged with leading the project’s monthly youth forums during the above sessions and also supporting participants to attend borough-wide Youth Citizens Assemblies and Area Youth Forum meetings. So as well as delivering high quality inclusive activities in safe supervised spaces, this new Project Coordinator will focus on increasing access to platforms where youth voices can be heard and younger leaders are supported to help steer local services to boost engagement and impact.

The Head of Syria and Iraq Detention Project is responsible for overseeing Reprieve’s work on detention cases in North East Syria (NES) and Iraq.
There are currently thousands of people indefinitely detained in camps in North East Syria, in conditions the UN has described as “deplorable and inhumane”. Others have been transferred to Iraq or Assad-controlled Syria, where they have faced torture and the death penalty without anything resembling due process.
Reprieve’s Syria and Iraq Projects aim to ensure that individuals detained in Syria and Iraq are treated in line with international law, and not subjected to the death penalty, extrajudicial execution, arbitrary detention, torture or rendition. We also aim to challenge and change flawed ‘war on terror’ narratives and legal and political frameworks – including in the UK, Europe and the US – that engender state-sanctioned discrimination and abuse and undermine the rule of law and human rights.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies using a dynamic approach in which each of Reprieve’s methodologies—casework, investigation, litigation, political and public engagement, outreach and support for affected communities—connect with one another in pursuit of saving clients’ lives and addressing structural rights violations. You are an experienced campaigner and advocate, with significant legal, casework or litigation experience and strong writing skills. You have demonstrated experience leading teams and managing a complex portfolio of cases.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work on World Cancer Research Fund International’s Continuous Update Project (CUP). The CUP analyses global cancer prevention and survival research linked to diet, nutrition, physical activity and weight. Over the past year the project has been going through a transition period to set it up for the next phase of its development, scheduled to start in the spring of 2021.
As the Research Interpretation Manager you will play a key role in taking forward the next phase of the CUP. This will include project managing and leading on specific components of the work, as well as providing general support as part of the Secretariat. You will contribute to the development of the overall strategic approach and support the Head of Research Interpretation and the Director of Research in implementing the new strategy.
You will be educated to at least Masters degree level (with human nutrition and/or public health being the subject of either the undergraduate or postgraduate degree), have an understanding of epidemiology and biological mechanisms as applied to diet, nutrition, physical activity and weight and cancer, strong project management skills and experience of evidence synthesis and interpretation.
This is a permanent role within the Science and Research Department at World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) International. WCRF International is a not-for-profit organisation that leads and unifies a network of cancer prevention charities based in Europe, the Americas and Asia and is responsible for cancer prevention science, policy, strategic and operational direction to the network charities.

Crisis Skylight Croydon engages individuals at every stage of their recovery from homelessness, from early engagement on the street, stabilisation and progression into independent living, to ongoing support to ensure members are not subjected to the 'revolving door' of homelessness. We also work closely with a range of partners, referral agencies and the Local Authorities to support single homeless people who are insecurely or temporarily housed and others who are unlikely to receive a service elsewhere. We deliver structured Learning and Skills classes in our Skylight centre alongside housing, progression, smart-skills advice, volunteering opportunities and coaching.
About the role
As a Learning Manager, you will be someone who is passionate and understand your role in ending and preventing homelessness. We are looking for somebody who can demonstrate their ability to lead and manage teams to deliver a high-quality service while meeting the individual needs of our members. As part of the management team at Crisis Skylight Croydon, you will have the commitment and drive to support the implementation of a vision whose end goal is to see as many people have their homelessness end as possible through an excellent Skylight offer.
About you
To be successful in this role you will:
• Have experience of delivering or managing high quality information, advice and guidance services
• Understanding of the barriers faced by homeless people and using effective case management, solution-focused approaches to ensure the optimum outcomes for homeless people
• An understanding of coaching approaches and the ability to ensure coaching interventions are being delivered to a high standard
• Demonstrable experience of managing and developing staff in effective case management, including driving targets and allocating staff resources effectively
• Experience of supporting and embedding change in service delivery

Purpose
Development Pathways is the leading provider of Social Protection services to a variety of donors worldwide. Our focus areas are social policy, social and economic analysis, and management information systems for social protection. Our Business Development team currently comprises a Head of Business Development, this role, and two junior roles. We anticipate team growth in the medium term. The team is responsible for driving our growth, leading on opportunity identification and proposal preparation, drawing on inputs from our technical teams. As the most senior role reporting to the Head of BD, you will lead on a range of opportunities, operating increasingly independently across the spectrum of Business Development activities. Responsibilities and Duties
The responsibilities of the Business Development Manager will cover the following areas:

- Lead and support the development of bids for a wide range of clients, including managing inputs from technical teams, building budgets, assembling teams of internal and external staff (associates and consultants), and drafting key components of bids.

- Strengthen Development Pathways’ links with consultants, and help build our network of associates.
- Support the strengthening of our BD processes and tools.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- A relevant university degree in International Development, Social Protection, Gender Studies or another relevant area
- At least five years’ experience in international development, the humanitarian sector, consulting or another relevant sector
- Significant experience and successful track record in business development in international development, the humanitarian sector, consulting or another relevant sector
- Expertise in developing proposal budgets
- Expertise in assembling mixed teams of internal and external staff for assignments
- Familiarity with key clients and funders, including UN bodies, the World Bank and other international financial institutions, bilateral government donors such as the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and major grant-giving philanthropic foundations
