Job description

Health and Wellbeing Manager – NAVCA

Are you a pro-active, motivated and solution-focused individual with a track record of developing and maintaining strong connections and relationships with, and between, organisations across sectors? Do you have a clear understanding of the role and potential of the voluntary and community sector within health and social care systems, and a sound understanding of recent developments of social prescribing?

Would you like to help NAVCA and its partners to identify priorities and create opportunities to support social prescribing networks through the development of tools and resources?

If so then take a look at our exciting role of Health & Wellbeing Manager.

NAVCA is the umbrella body for local VCS infrastructure, strengthening communities and social action by working with our members.  We support a thriving local voluntary sector, working with our members locally so that anyone who wants to volunteer or start a community group has good local advice and support.  NAVCA delivers outcomes against the four functions of infrastructure to benefit its members – leadership and advocacy, community support and development, volunteering, and partnerships.  As a small energetic team, we work collaboratively and flexibly, supporting each other as well as our members.

This exciting new role will lead on engaging with NAVCA members, our partners and wider stakeholders to identify priorities and develop opportunities to support social prescribing networks. You will work with NAVCA and its members, whilst also being embedded in our partners’ structures to deliver two phases of work.

First, scoping the role of local infrastructure organisations in developing social prescribing tools and resources, and identifying what further developments might be beneficial to support networks, collaborative working and effective delivery. The scoping phase will focus on quality assurance, service directories and guidance and support materials in particular, and will culminate in a clear set of recommendations.

Second, you will lead on co-design/co-development of products and resources identified in the first phase, and support their dissemination through existing networks.

You will also work closely with colleagues within NAVCA to ensure our wider work and partnerships in the field of health and wellbeing remain connected and continue to develop.

The role is full time (35 hours per week) with a salary of £34,000 per annum plus an 8% employer pension (no employee contribution required), 25 days holiday plus 11 days public holidays. You will be supported in your training and career development. We welcome applicants seeking flexible working patterns or job sharing and we welcome loan or secondment arrangements.

This is a remote working position, with travel to our Head Office required on a weekly basis. Our work with voluntary and community organisations requires a degree of flexibility and the post holders will occasionally be expected to work out of normal office hours including evenings and weekends.
