About the role

We are looking for an experienced Grants Manager to join our Fundraising team and play a key role in stewarding relationships with our institutional funders. You will manage a portfolio of trusts, foundations and statutory donors, ensuring excellent account management and delivering high-quality applications and reports that help secure and grow vital funding.

Working closely with colleagues across fundraising, campaigns and finance, you will identify opportunities to deepen partnerships with existing supporters while ensuring compliance, strong communication and long-term relationship building. Your work will directly contribute to achieving our fundraising targets and supporting the organisation’s long-term financial sustainability.

About you

You are an experienced grants professional with a strong track record of securing significant income from trusts, foundations or statutory funders. You are highly organised and confident managing multiple relationships, from identifying opportunities and developing compelling proposals through to reporting and ongoing stewardship.

You are an excellent communicator with the ability to translate complex information into clear, persuasive proposals and donor updates. Collaborative and proactive, you enjoy working across teams, building trusted relationships with colleagues and funders alike. You are motivated and comfortable using own initiative.

Acorns is now seeking a Donor Experience Manager to play a key role in delivering an exceptional supporter experience across the fundraising directorate. Reporting to the Head of Donor Experience, the Donor Experience Manager will lead the delivery of engaging, insight-led donor journeys across multiple fundraising channels.

You will work closely with fundraising, marketing and care teams to ensure that every supporter interaction – from initial engagement through to long-term stewardship – is consistent, personalised and meaningful. Through effective stewardship, compelling communications and strong operational delivery, you will help strengthen supporter relationships and drive long-term retention.

The role will also oversee supporter care operations, ensuring high standards in donation processing, thanking, pledge management and supporter communications. Using CRM data (Donorfy), supporter feedback and insight, you will continuously refine stewardship activity and donor journeys to improve engagement and lifetime value.

As Donor Experience Manager, you will:

• Line manage and develop the Donor Experience Officer, ensuring high standards of supporter care and operational delivery
• Design and deliver multi-channel donor journeys that strengthen engagement, retention and supporter lifetime value
• Manage the annual fundraising communications plan and identify meaningful stewardship opportunities across fundraising activity
• Develop and maintain a central fundraising content library including case studies, stories and impact materials
• Work with fundraising, marketing and care teams to produce compelling supporter communications and impact reports
• Support bespoke stewardship and recognition activity for major donors and high-value supporters

With a history of 139 years of supporting people of all ages in Rotherhithe and Bermondsey, we bring people together for mutual support, fun and friendship, with a wide range of services and activities for older people and other adults, along with children and families’ programmes and a range of volunteering projects.

The Trusts and Foundations Manager will lead the development of a new income stream that supports the organisation’s future growth and strategic ambitions. With no current active grants or established project portfolio, the postholder will build the foundations of a strong trusts and foundations programme, developing a robust pipeline, shaping emerging ideas into fundable opportunities, and securing long-term income to enable new services.

Working collaboratively across the organisation, they will help colleagues understand funder expectations, develop compelling cases for support, and build the systems required for sustainable, high-quality grant fundraising. This role is central to diversifying income and ensuring the organisation is well positioned to secure future investment as new projects are developed.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Trusts and Foundations Manager will develop and grow a new trusts and foundations income stream from the ground up. They will build a pipeline of prospective funders, shape emerging ideas into fundable opportunities, and lead on high quality applications that support the organisation’s future projects. Working collaboratively across directorates, they will cultivate strong funder relationships and establish the systems needed for sustainable, long‑term income growth.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning and Strategy

• Lead the development of a new trusts and foundations income stream, building a sustainable portfolio of prospective, warm, and active funders.
• Create and maintain a structured pipeline that clearly maps cultivation, application, and stewardship stages.
• Establish effective systems, processes, and tools for researching, tracking, and managing all funding opportunities.
• Work with colleagues across the organisation to identify future fundable projects and shape them into compelling propositions.
• Develop annual trusts and foundations workplans and income forecasts aligned to organisational priorities.

Prospecting and Research

• Identify and research new trust, foundation, and statutory funders, prioritising those with the strongest alignment to RLSS UK’s mission and strategic framework.
• Identify creative ways to engage new funders and build early relationships, even before projects are fully developed.
• Stay informed about new trust and foundation funding opportunities and broader sector developments and funder priorities, to strengthen the fundraising strategy.

Bid Writing and Proposal Development

• Develop high quality, persuasive, and tailored funding applications that clearly articulate the need and potential impact.
• Ensure all proposals clearly articulate the need, planned impact, and align with funder requirements and priorities.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across Education, Commercial Services, Finance and the wider Income Generation and Engagement team to develop credible cases for support, project budgets and clear anticipated impact.
• Identify the most appropriate approach for each funder, including opportunities for multi‑year grants and strategic partnerships.

Relationship Management and Stewardship

• Cultivate strong, positive relationships with funders, ensuring personalised, timely and impact focused stewardship for all supporters.
• Provide excellent donor care, responding promptly to enquiries and ensuring funders feel informed, valued, and connected to RLSS UK’s mission.
• Represent RLSS UK confidently in funder meetings, presentations, and networking events to strengthen long term support.

Reporting and Evaluation

• Monitor and report on trusts and foundations fundraising performance against KPIs and targets, reporting on performance to the Director of Income Generation and Engagement, Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees. 
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in the CRM.
• Support the development of monitoring and evaluation frameworks to ensure future projects can deliver strong, funder‑ready impact reporting.
• Collaborate with internal teams to collect evidence of impact and evaluate programme performance.
• Support audit processes related to restricted funding alongside the Finance team.
• Use data-driven insights and KPIs to evaluate and refine strategies for maximum impact and return on investment.

We’re looking for a Senior Impact and Learning Manager to help us provide effective impact measurement and learning support for London Sport’s Place Universal Offer (PUO) programme funded by Sport England. The work will also support the delivery of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) in three Place Based delivery areas (Enfield, Lambeth, and Newham).

JOB PURPOSE

The Partnerships Manager will be a key position within the fundraising team, managing key private donors and co-leading on developing and implementing a new business strategy focused on significantly increasing trust and foundation and corporate funders.

They will also be working with SLT members to put together strategic seven and eight figure grants and strategic plans to engage large global donors to support Start Network programming.

The Resource Mobilisation team works collaboratively with those in programmes to manage internal and external relationships, adopting a coordinated approach when it comes to donor management and reporting.

The Partnerships Manager, together with the Head of Resource Mobilisation, will set and deliver a strategy that maximises trust and foundation and corporate funding and set a clear path to bring in new donors and increase income substantially over the coming three years. Currently the funding portfolio you will be managing is over £30million from 13+ global donors. This means this role is personally responsible for engaging and retaining 60% of our donors. This role will set a strategy to increase income according to targets, maximise donors plus retain all key strategic donors through robust engagement plans. Beyond this, the person in post will line manage three with scope for growth in 2026. 

Additionally, across 2026-2028 and beyond they will lead on the development of an employee engagement offering with our corporates and corporate foundations in order to create a new avenue of unrestricted funding. 

Beyond this, we expect this role, to lead on behalf of the resource mobilization team key global events, particularly Skoll / Marmalade and Shift the Power. In collaboration with the Institutional Funding Manager they will also plan our activities London and NY Climate Weeks. They will set the plans and strategy for the organization to engage with these events and work with Directors, CEO, Heads of, and coordinate cross organisational plans for this together with our Head of Advocacy and Influence. 

Finally, this role will act as a key point of contact for the communications and advocacy teams and will need to make sure donor requirement and visibility will be taken into account across teams projects and strategies. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Increase new business from trusts and foundations and corporate funders

• Lead on the development of an innovative strategy together with the Head of Resource Mobilisation and Director of Business Development to identify and drive new business from trusts and foundations and corporates.
• Responsible for growing our funding from new geographical areas (focus on US and Asia) and sectors (Insurance) – and set a plan that will enable the diversification of our funding portfolio. 
• Oversee the development and implementation of an employee engagement offer in order to create a new avenue of unrestricted income and boost the interest of corporate donors.  
• Drive high quality prospecting of new potential funders across the organisation by working with and guiding heads of teams and the CEO strategically to engage with this task. 
• Oversee how the organisation engages strategically with large trusts and foundations and corporates (potential giving 7 and 8 figures).
• Co-lead on the planning of key global events with our external affairs team such as Climate Week (New York and London) and make sure we have a cross organisational strategic approach to these events. 
• Oversee the strategy to catalyse new relationships with middle sized trusts and foundations and corporates with a potential giving of 6 figures.
• Set a plan to attract more flexibility funding that can enable the organisation to catalyse key strategic projects that fall out of our programmes.
• Lead on developing positioning for corporate partnerships (insurance, finance, and tech industries), new areas of business for Start Network.
• Lead on the business planning process for the Trust and Foundations and Corporates Team.
• Manage large event budgets and make sure resources are used effectively.
• Work with programmes teams and colleagues to understand funding needs and develop creative ways to position and pitch areas of Start Network such as hubs, innovation etc.
• Work with programmes teams and finance team to drive and support the development of robust budgets and narrative proposals for large and medium sized asks.
• Attend and speak at key advocacy events, representing the resource mobilisation team as required, in order to meet donors and advocate for Start Network’s mission

Ensure high quality stewardship of current philanthropic donors

• Responsible for the overall stewardship of several high giving trusts and foundations (6, 7 & 8 figures).
• Oversee the development of quality reporting and updates for donors and make sure we have clear processes and systems for this to happen
• Responsible for making sure the resource mobilization team is creating informative and engaging updates across programmes for T&F and corporate donors.
• Work across teams to implement the insurance advisory group and make sure this group links back to resource mobilization strategies. 
• Work with heads of teams to develop an engaging agenda for the insurance advisory group, taking into account the function and work with finance team to ensure appropriate expenditure of grant. Oversee the development of complex donor budgets and make sure they are ready for CFOO and Director approval.
• Support grant management function and work with finance team to ensure appropriate expenditure of grants.
• Work closely with the communications team in order to set up a strategic comms plan that will enable the organisation to position itself as a trend setter in the humanitarian sector, particularly around our core areas of work. 

Influence externally

• Work with the Head of Resource Mobilisation and Director of Business Development to position Start Network strategically in global funding discussions.
• Engage key donors at strategic events and meetings.
• Work with the Head of Advocacy and External Affairs to coordinate advocacy messages for donors.

The Hub Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of a FSSW hub, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations that maximise the volume of surplus food received, stored, and distributed to our Community Food Members (CFMs). This includes managing a mixed team of staff, FareChance employability participants and volunteers in their operational tasks, maintaining high operational and health & safety standards, and collaborating with colleagues across food & logistics, compliance, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Management

• Oversee and manage the safe and efficient daily operation of the hub, ensuring essential tasks are completed to a high standard.
• Ensure the hub is appropriately set up to meet Key Performance Indicators and goods in and deliveries out, working closely with the Head of Operations.
• Use FareShare UK (FSUK)’s digital stock system to manage product movements and maintain stock accuracy. Lead weekly stock takes and investigate discrepancies in collaboration with the compliance and food teams.
• Oversee the smooth intake and dispatch of food, liaising with food donors, FSUK, transport providers, and partners. Ensure food deliveries meet acceptance criteria and report any quality issues promptly.
• Ensure the Hub Operations team maintain positive relationships with CFMs, ensuring high standards of service and communication.
• Play an active role in identifying solutions to operational challenges, in collaboration with the food, membership and volunteer teams.
• Coordinate and manage external contractors for maintenance and repairs.
• Provide procurement support to secure value for money on consumables and equipment.
• With support from the wider FSSW team, meet food waste KPIs to ensure that we effectively maximise food redistribution to CFMs.
• Ensure adequate stock of operational supplies and equipment to support daily operations.
• Responsible for the Hub Operations controllable costs budget. Oversee the management of on-site petty cash in line with financial controls.
• Work with the Head of Operations to improve systems and integrate new processes to support growth and efficiency.
• Carry out analysis of the fleet and its equipment including weekly vehicle checks and basic maintenance duties (e.g. tyre pressures, topping up vehicle fluids). Work with the Fleet Coordinator to ensure the on-site vehicle fleet is well maintained, roadworthy and compliant.
• Contribute to delivery of the Operations Strategy, including key developments for FSSW.
• Carry out other duties as required to support the successful running of the hub.

2. Team Management

• Provide strong day-to-day leadership to a diverse team of staff and volunteers. Delegate tasks, give regular feedback, and maintain an open, inclusive working environment.
• Manage, supervise, and develop Line Reports, including performance management, appraisals, and training.
• Support effective recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring appropriate support and shift cover. Identify shortfalls in rota cover and respond in effective and timely manner.
• Work with temporary staffing agencies to arrange short term hire drivers, when necessary.
• Collaborate with the Head of Operations and Volunteer Team to ensure effective volunteer induction and ongoing training. Support the Volunteer Manager in the delivery of corporate volunteer days.
• Register and onboard new drivers by delivering volunteer and staff driving assessments and agency driver inductions.
• Foster a positive and productive team culture in line with FareShare South West values.

3. FareChance Employability Programme

• Support the delivery of the FareChance programme by overseeing and supervising participants during operational tasks, ensuring they are actively engaged and contributing to the hub operations team.
• Ensure FareChance participants are effectively trained, supported, and equipped to carry out their allocated duties, with opportunities to build confidence and develop relevant skills, with support from the volunteer and employability teams.

4. Health & Safety (H&S) and Compliance

• Lead and manage safe, efficient, and compliant day-to-day operations of the Hub, ensuring all staff, volunteers, and FareChance participants follow health, safety, and food safety procedures at all times.
• Act as the on-site accountable manager for operational safety, including overseeing food handling, storage, vehicle use, manual handling, and equipment compliance.
• Champion a positive safety culture, modelling safe working practices and encouraging team members and participants to work safely and report hazards or incidents promptly.
• Oversee the supervision, training, and development of FareChance participants, ensuring they are supported to carry out operational tasks safely, build confidence, and develop skills.

• Lead on-site delivery of any compliance-related changes introduced by FSUK, ensuring they are followed through to completion and embedded in practice.
• Manage and enhance compliance of the hub premises in line with FareShare’s minimum operating standards and expectations for operational efficiency.
• Work with others to identify and implement improvements to systems, processes and workflows.
• Ensure operational audits and assessments are carried out, actions are followed up, and improvement plans delivered.

Person Specification
Essential

• Proven experience in warehouse or logistics operations, with responsibility for delivery of KPIs.
• Strong working knowledge of health & safety legislation and risk management within a warehouse setting and able to champion a safety-first culture while enabling productivity.
• Experience of and confidence in working with clear procedures and compliance requirements such as food safety, hygiene, and auditing processes.
• Can demonstrate supportive, motivational, proactive and structured team leadership, including recruitment, supervision, and performance management.
• Experience of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond in a calm, solutions-focused way under pressure.
• Competency in stock control systems and inventory management (e.g. digital stock systems such as GLADYS or similar).
• Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal, with experience of cross-team and stakeholder communication.
• Able to demonstrate good judgement and decision-making, including escalating issues appropriately.
• Physically able to carry out the role, including manual handling and operating in warehouse conditions.

The Domestic Abuse Service Manager is responsible for the operational delivery of the Domestic Abuse Emergency, Safe & Supported Accommodation, to providing safe, trauma-informed, survivor-led accommodation and support to victims of domestic abuse including children.

The Domestic Abuse Service Manager will lead a team, ensuring high-quality, person-centred support, safe housing management, and compliance with contractual, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements. The role will work closely with external partners to ensure victims are supported to remain safe, recover, and move towards longer-term housing stability.
