About Dementia Together Wirral
We are a local, independent charity based on the Wirral, supporting people living with dementia, their carers, and former carers by providing community-based activities and day trips. We help people stay active, enjoy friendship and creativity, reduce isolation, and feel included, valued and respected.

Demand for our activities is growing, and we want to reach more people across the Wirral. We are now seeking an enthusiastic fundraiser to help us grow and diversify our income, enabling us to provide more activities, events and support.

About the role
As our lead fundraiser, you will help us develop and deliver a practical fundraising plan to support the charity’s continued growth. You will write fundraising bids and build relationships with local businesses, community groups, volunteers, supporters and potential donors, and identify opportunities to raise funds for our services.

You will also help us strengthen our fundraising systems, improve supporter communications, and ensure that donors and funders understand the difference their support makes.

The post is initially offered for 24 months, with the aim of extending it if the role helps secure additional income and future funding allows.

Key responsibilities

As our lead fundraiser, you will:

Grants and trusts

• Research and maintain a pipeline of suitable grant-making trusts, foundations and local funding opportunities, identifying those that align with the charity's objectives.
• Prepare clear, persuasive funding applications where appropriate, ensuring they demonstrate the impact and difference DTW has made.

Community and local fundraising

• Develop and deliver a realistic fundraising plan with a strong focus on grant funding, local business fundraising and community fundraising.
• Build relationships with local businesses, community organisations, faith groups, schools, clubs and individual supporters to develop opportunities for ongoing support.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for sponsorship, donations, community fundraising events, and charity partnerships.

 Participation, stewardship and communications

• Encourage and support volunteers, trustees and staff to participate in fundraising activities and help foster a culture of fundraising across the organisation.
• Help organise and promote community fundraising events, campaigns and initiatives, identifying creative ways for local people and organisations to support DTW.
• Maintain accurate fundraising records and help ensure good donor and funder stewardship, including appropriate follow-up and acknowledgement.

Systems, records and compliance

• Work with colleagues to gather stories, outcomes and information that demonstrate the impact of the charity's work and can be used in funding applications, fundraising and communications.
• Ensure all fundraising activity is legal, ethical and aligned with the charity's values and relevant fundraising standards.

Person specification

 Essential

• Experience of successful grant fundraising and community or local business fundraising.
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to write clear, persuasive funding applications and reports.
• A target-driven and organised approach, with the ability to manage a fundraising pipeline, work to deadlines and report progress against agreed targets.
• Creativity, resilience and initiative, with the confidence to develop new ideas and persist in a challenging fundraising environment.
• Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to speak engagingly about DTW’s work in meetings, presentations and community settings.
• Good IT and record-keeping skills, including the ability to use a CRM or similar database, email, spreadsheets and digital communication tools.
• A practical, hands-on approach suited to a small charity, with the ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
• Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends when required for community fundraising, networking, events and supporter activity, with flexibility agreed in advance wherever possible.

Desirable

• An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, dementia and the needs of people living with dementia, their carers and former carers.
• Knowledge of the Code of Fundraising Practice and relevant fundraising standards.
• Experience of using Donorfy or another CRM system.
• Experience of working or volunteering in a charity, community organisation or small team
• Ability to travel across the Wirral Peninsula for meetings and events. Access to a vehicle for business use would be desirable.

Reporting arrangements

Reporting to the Charity Manager, you will also work closely with trustees and volunteers to identify fundraising opportunities and gather evidence of impact.

JOB OVERVIEW

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced team leader looking to take on a meaningful new career challenge to join the Brent Irish Advisory Service (BIAS) as Head of Operations.

The Head of Operations oversees all of BIAS’s projects, managing a small, high-performing team of project coordinators and frontline advice and community-support staff to ensure that we provide the highest-quality service to our clients. You will need to have demonstrable team-management experience, strong people and communication skills, and a willingness to take a hands-on approach to project delivery, along with excellent organisational and strategic abilities to ensure that projects are delivered sustainably, effectively and efficiently.

In 2025, BIAS expanded its successful Brent-based advice service and active ageing clubs into Haringey borough. The Head of Operations will take the lead on further building and developing the new services in Haringey, ensuring that we replicate our excellent quality of service, strong record of positive outcomes and loyal service-user base.

This is a key role within the BIAS senior leadership team, which will give you the opportunity to have a direct impact on shaping the organisation’s future strategy and direction.

KEY WORK AREAS AND MAIN DUTIES

Staff management

• Manage a team of five project coordinators and five front-line staff to ensure effective delivery and monitoring of BIAS’s core welfare and housing advice, active ageing, volunteering and befriending projects, which support over 900 people per year.
• Manage HR procedures, including employment contracts, probation assessment, leave administration, staff supervision, performance management and exit procedures.
• Conduct recruitment procedures where needed, and supervise the onboarding process for new joiners.
• Oversee training and development needs and budgets.
• Ensure good teamwork and lines of communication between staff, including by chairing regular staff meetings.
• Create a positive working environment in which equity and diversity are promoted and staff can do their best.

Project management

• Project-manage the further development of new advice and active ageing services in Haringey borough.
• Take the lead on promotion and marketing of BIAS’s services, including by representing the charity to partner organisations and at external events.
• Contribute to the organisation and running of regular community and fundraising events.
• Deputise for the Advice Services Manager where needed, supporting the welfare and housing advisers with complex casework, forward planning and client management.
• Support the Active Ageing Coordinators and volunteer teams wherever needed with the day-to-day running of the active ageing clubs.

Quality and service delivery

• Oversee quality-assurance procedures in line with the Advice Quality Standard (AQS), and spearhead biannual renewal of BIAS’s AQS accreditation.
• Oversee running of BIAS’s volunteer project in line with the Investing in Volunteers quality accreditation standards.
• Serve as internal data protection officer, monitoring GDPR compliance, managing risk and responding to any potential data breaches.
• Serve as BIAS safeguarding lead, ensuring that safeguarding policies and training are kept up to date, and that all safeguarding concerns are appropriately addressed.
• Work with the Fundraising and Communications Manager to administer the BIAS website and implement BIAS’s social media strategy.
• Administer BIAS’s IT and client management systems (Microsoft 365, SharePoint, BrightHR, Lamplight CRM), coordinating training, updates and troubleshooting.

Operational leadership

• Advise the CEO on all staffing and service-delivery issues.
• Monitor and report on service delivery, including through monthly advice and volunteer-project reports, quarterly Board reports and regular funder reports.
• Carry out regular reviews of BIAS’s annual business plan, risk register, five-year strategy and internal policies and procedures, providing recommendations to the CEO and Board of Trustees on strategic direction.
• Research and secure funding from grant-making organisations, ensuring BIAS’s future financial sustainability.
• Work closely with the Finance Manager and CEO on budgeting, grant monitoring, cashflow and financial authorisation.

These are the basic duties required of the Head of Operations. However, it is necessary for all staff to be flexible and you may be required from time to time to perform other reasonable duties which are required for the efficient running of the organisation. We will also offer training opportunities to support your career development.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. This role will be based in our advice offices and club venues in Willesden and Haringey but there may be some options for flexible working (e.g. one day per week from home). Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.

ABOUT BIAS

BIAS is a local charity which has supported England’s largest Irish community in Brent for almost fifty years. We deliver our support through our welfare and housing advice service, our active ageing clubs, our volunteer project and our befriending scheme. We raise over £2 million in extra income for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged every year and have over 7000 attendances at our club services. BIAS has recently expanded into Haringey borough and has exciting plans to further develop its project scope and geographical reach, supported by sustainable and diversified grant funding, including from Ireland’s Emigrant Support Programme.

Your role

Leading the delivery and development of the Contact Ealing project within budget, the role oversees and line‑manages the Family Worker team while coordinating all project activity and shaping the annual work programme. It involves working directly with families of disabled children across Ealing—particularly those from BAME and East European communities—by providing information, facilitating support groups, and creating opportunities for connection. The role also maintains strong partnerships with key organisations including Dormers Wells Children’s Centre, LBE, Ealing Advice Service, Ealing Anchor, Southall Connect, EPCF, SENDIASS and others, ensuring collaborative service delivery. Additionally, it contributes to the borough’s wider strategic aims by supporting the Ealing Co‑Production Project led by the Head of Teams.

What we’re looking for

The role leads on key communications for Contact Ealing, including producing and distributing the regular project newsletter with the wider team and preparing annual reports for funders. It also supports the ongoing development of Contact’s information base and ensures high‑quality administration across all areas of work, from report writing and correspondence to filing, photocopying and extensive telephone support. The postholder represents Contact at meetings when required, contributes to volunteer recruitment, management and training alongside Family Workers, and plays an active part in strengthening the project’s visibility, organisation and community impact.

We’re looking for a Waking Nights Support Worker to join us, supporting young people aged 16-25 who have high support needs. In this role, you’ll be safeguarding wellbeing, encouraging positive relationships, and supporting each resident’s journey towards independence, all while ensuring the safety, calm, and security of our service overnight.
 
A Typical Night in the Role 
 
Your shift will start with a handover from the day team before you prepare for the night ahead. You’ll carry out building checks to make sure the environment is safe, address tenancy issues like smoking or noise, and be available to respond to any emergencies. You may host activities like a film night to build community spirit, but you’ll also be prepared to de-escalate challenging situations, offer emotional support, and ensure all residents feel safe.
 
What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with vulnerable young people (16-25 years) in social housing, education, or the charity sector, with a focus on development and personal growth.
• Professional experience of supporting people with complex needs, including homelessness, mental health, high-risk or high-harm behaviours, or high vulnerability.
• Experience of working with young people who display challenging behaviour or conflict, while remaining approachable, engaging effectively, providing constructive support, and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

About Dementia Together Wirral
We are a local, independent charity based on the Wirral, supporting people living with dementia, their carers, and former carers by providing community-based activities and day trips. We help people stay active, enjoy friendship and creativity, reduce isolation, and feel included, valued and respected.

We are now seeking an enthusiastic and well-organised Administrator to help strengthen our day-to-day administration, records and communications, enabling us to continue to provide an effective and responsive service.

About the role
This is an important role at the heart of a small charity. The post is primarily administrative, but with a significant communications element. You will help keep our records, communications and day-to-day systems running smoothly, support colleagues and volunteers, and ensure people receive clear, timely and helpful information.

You will also support communications activity, including social media updates, newsletters and promotional materials. You will not be expected to be a specialist in every system from day one; training and support will be provided where needed.

 Key responsibilities

As our Administrator, you will:

• Provide reliable day-to-day administrative support to the Charity Manager, staff, volunteers and trustees.
• Manage correspondence, including telephone calls, emails and written communications, ensuring enquiries are addressed or forwarded appropriately.
• Support bookings and administration for coach trips, narrowboat trips and other activities as required.
• Attend meetings when required and provide administrative support, such as preparing papers, taking notes, or following up on agreed actions.
• Maintain accurate membership, CRM and contact records, ensuring information is complete, up to date and securely handled.
• Record feedback from activities, comment sheets, and comment books, and share relevant information with colleagues where follow-up is required.
• Help keep the charity's social media, newsletters and promotional materials up to date by using agreed messages and brand guidelines.
• Support the development of stories, photographs, updates and case studies that explain the difference Dementia Together Wirral makes, ensuring appropriate consent is obtained.
• Work flexibly with colleagues to support members, volunteers and continuity of services during busy periods, annual leave or sickness.

Person specification

Essential

• Experience in an administrative, coordination, customer service, office support, or similar role, or strong transferable organisational skills.
• Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and complete tasks accurately and on time.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, coupled with a friendly and professional approach.
• Good attention to detail and confidence in maintaining accurate records and information.
• Confidence with email, Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365, and willingness to learn other digital systems used by the charity.
• A practical, flexible and hands-on approach suited to working in a small charity.
• A commitment to confidentiality, safeguarding, inclusive practice, and respectful support for people living with dementia, carers, volunteers, and supporters.

Desirable

• Experience of working or volunteering with a charity, community organisation or small team.
• Experience of using a CRM, database, or membership system, or digital tools such as Canva, Mailchimp, or SharePoint.
• Experience of supporting social media, newsletters or other communications activities.
• An understanding of dementia, unpaid caring, or community-based support services, or a willingness to learn.

Action for Family Carers is a thriving charity which for over 35 years has been providing support for Adult Carers and Young Carers – people with unpaid caring responsibilities for others. We provide support including information, coaching, counselling, peer support, respite care, and Young Carer clubs across Essex, working within schools, GP practices and a variety of community settings.

Many of the communities we serve face active persecution, operate in restricted environments, and depend on the careful, sensitive stewardship of their relationships with BAI and our partners.

This is an extraordinary opportunity for a strategically minded, relationally gifted Christian leader to shape how BAI serves the persecuted Church across one of the world's most complex and spiritually significant regions.

The Role

The Regional Programme Director — Asia will provide strategic leadership for the development and delivery of Barnabas Aid's grant making and project management across the Asia Region. You will lead and develop a team of Programme Managers, build and sustain a strong partner network, and oversee a portfolio of high-quality, biblically grounded projects that deliver measurable impact for persecuted and suffering Christians.

As a member of both the Programmes Leadership Team and the Strategic Leadership Team, you will contribute to BAI's global Programmes strategy and to organisational strategy, culture, and effective cross-departmental working.

Key Responsibilities

Regional strategy and portfolio leadership

• In collaboration with the International Chief Programmes Officer, lead the development, review, and implementation of the global Programmes strategy within the assigned Region, translating strategic priorities into a clear regional plan and pipeline.
• Maintain a balanced regional portfolio aligned with organisational priorities, donor intent, and restricted fund requirements.
• Identify emerging needs, risks, and opportunities in the Region and recommend strategic responses, including new initiatives and partnerships.
• Ensure that the Region is balancing its portfolio of Programmes according to the Country Classification framework.

Grant making and programme cycle management

• Oversee the end-to-end grant making process for Programmes in the region, ensuring proposals are assessed, costed, and approved in line with delegated authority, Gate processes, and Programmes Subcommittee requirements.
• Take lead responsibility for one sub-region and/or a portfolio of countries, leading on partner engagement and the whole project management cycle.
• Ensure robust needs assessments, project design, logical frameworks (where applicable), budgets, partner due diligence, risk assessments, and monitoring plans are in place before grants are committed.
• Oversee project implementation across the regional portfolio, including milestone tracking, reporting, learning, and close-out, ensuring records are maintained accurately and on time.
• Proactively identify project delivery issues and work with team members and partners to resolve them promptly.
• Maintain proficiency in the use of all systems and processes used to manage the workflow of the team.
• Work closely with the Programme Quality Team to ensure best practice standards, continuous improvement, and consistent application of policies, processes, and templates.

Leadership and people management

• Support the staff in the regional team by providing clear leadership, coaching, and line management, including goal setting, supervision, performance management, and development.
• Ensure capacity planning across the Region so that project management workloads are realistic and risks are appropriately managed.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning for the regional team, contributing to wider Programmes Team workforce planning as required.
• Deputise for the international Chief Programmes Officer when requested to do so during their absence
• Ensure Regional team members plan overseas trips appropriately and adequately, always factoring in security and safeguarding risks.

Partner engagement and external representation

• Ensure the regional team builds and sustains a strong partner network, with relationships that are effective, mutually accountable, and aligned with Barnabas Aid's mission and values.
• Develop and implement a plan for regular partner engagement and capacity building (including visits where appropriate and safe) to strengthen project delivery, monitoring, and safeguarding.
• Represent Barnabas Aid professionally with partners and other stakeholders, managing sensitive information and security considerations appropriately.
• Engage proactively with peer organisations and networks to bring insight on sector best practice into BAI's work.

Cross-organisational collaboration and governance

• Work closely with Outreach and Support departments to provide timely, high-quality project information and updates that enable supporter communications, fundraising, and reporting.
• Contribute to organisational planning and decision-making through active membership of the Programmes Leadership Team and the Strategic Leadership Team (as applicable).
• Prepare quality papers, dashboards, and narrative updates for internal decision-making meetings and governance forums as required.

Compliance, risk, and safeguarding

• Ensure compliance with Barnabas Aid policies and external requirements relevant to grant making and project delivery, including data protection and information security.
• Maintain effective regional risk management, including project, partner, fraud, security, and reputational risks, escalating issues promptly and recommending mitigations.
• Champion safeguarding and ensure safeguarding considerations are integrated into partner due diligence, project design, implementation, and reporting.
