As we move forward with our refreshed strategy, we are looking for a new Research and Design Officer to join our dynamic team.
The Research and Design Officer plays a crucial role in our work at Dartington. They work alongside experienced Leads, Senior Researchers and Designers, to support a varied portfolio of research and design projects.
This ‘Officer’ role is sometimes also referred to elsewhere as a research or design ‘associate’, ‘fellow’ or ‘consultant’.
Key duties include data collection and analysis, covering both qualitative research and design engagements (workshops, interviews, and focus groups – with young people, practitioners and system leaders) and quantitative work (surveys, synthesis of secondary and administrative data).
The Research and Design Officer also plays a key role in synthesising learning and insights, into digestible, engaging reports and outputs for a varied mix of clients and partners.
As well as strong research skills, the candidate will also bring a strong approach to co-design, facilitation and visual design.
The Research and Design Officer works with our wider team to ensure that we approach our work with rigour and integrity. This includes an intentional focus in putting our anti-racist and equitable principles into practice, and preparing materials for ethical review.
Research and Design Officers work across multiple concurrent projects and report directly to experienced Leads (who specialise in research, evaluation, service design, youth and community engagement, and systemic change).
The role demands a highly relational approach – working with a diverse range of clients, partners and working styles - flexing approaches as required. It also requires an ability to effectively context-switch and manage a varied workload and set of priorities. It will suit a candidate that thrives with a varied workload, is able to effectively prioritise and communicate well.

You’ll oversee a team of three Legacy Officers, providing expert guidance, coaching and performance management while maintaining accountability for a portfolio of around 900 active cases. Alongside this, you’ll personally manage approximately 50 complex and contentious matters, including litigation-related cases, ensuring Marie Curie’s interests are protected through robust decision-making, cost-benefit analysis and close collaboration with our legal team.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, support and develop three Legacy Officers, ensuring high performance, quality assurance and clear progression pathways.
- Hold oversight and accountability for 900+ legacy cases, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely administration.
- Manage a personal caseload of 50 complex and contentious matters, including litigation, disputes and reputationally sensitive issues.
- Work closely with the legal team, executors, solicitors and co-beneficiaries to protect Marie Curie’s entitlement.

Skills & Experience Needed

- Advanced technical knowledge of wills, probate, trusts, tax and estate administration across multiple UK jurisdictions.
- Strong commercial mindset, able to assess risk, analyse costs and make confident, informed decisions.
- High-volume caseload management experience, with exceptional organisational skills and the ability to prioritise under pressure.

Each year, almost 1,000 people take part in a Youth Adventure Challenge Event. We are looking for a dynamic Events Fundraising Officer to help recruit and support our fundraisers, assist with the organisation of events and help us to develop this significant income stream.
Working alongside the Challenge Events Manager, the Events Fundraising Officer is instrumental in every step of delivering well-managed, fun and safe events for our corporate partners and event participants, as well as ensuring the fundraising success of each event.
Excellent communication and people skills will be essential as you will play a key role in building up relationships with the clients, the participants and their supporters. Furthermore, you will be involved in the whole process of event organisation, including developing the event, preparing the resources, helping with logistics, maintaining accurate records, reporting and banking and thanking.

1. Role Purpose
A key element of Trussell’s high value income is from individual donors and Trusts, who support our work and mission. The Philanthropy Officer is accountable for managing a caseload of trusts and major donors who are giving up to £10k annually, stewarding them effectively to help secure income to fund Trussell’s work.
The Philanthropy Officer is responsible for developing appropriate engagement and stewardship journeys for this group of donors, with the aim of retaining and increasing financial support for Trussell.

2. Key Responsibilities
1. Steward a caseload of major donors and trusts
Manage a caseload of c.150 major donors and c.600 trusts (c. £5k-£10k per annum giving levels). Effectively steward a cohort of donors and Trusts who support Trussell’s work and mission to ensure that Donors and Trusts are updated, understand the impact of their support, loyalty is strengthened and income secured.
2. Deliver high‑quality stewardship communications
Produce personalised thank‑yous, updates, impact reports, and tailored asks, and developing some one-to-one relationships to ensure donors and Trusts receive timely, meaningful engagement that demonstrates the impact of their support and inspires them to continue giving.
3. Develop and submit funding applications
Prepare and submit bespoke applications to trusts when required, in order to secure additional income through compelling funding applications. Opportunities to secure income and cultivate relationships are maximised.
4. Maintain accurate supporter records
Maintain accurate records on our database; facilitating accurate data management and effective stewardship. Delivering analysis, forecasting and segmentation for mailings, to enable compliant, insight‑led fundraising activity.
5. Design and manage supporter journeys
Context: Work collaboratively across the team to design and manage supporter journeys for Major Donor and Trusts which enhance the consistency and quality of engagements, building stronger donor experience and improved engagement.
6. Provide administrative and team support

AHF is seeking to appoint 3.5 FTE new Grants Officers to help deliver our core grants and advisory programme across England. These roles have been created following the recent announcement of significant new investment, which will support the expansion of the Heritage Revival Fund through to March 2029. This investment will enable AHF, in partnership with DCMS and Historic England, to provide grants to hundreds of communities across England, helping them bring neglected historic buildings back into use.
The postholders will be responsible for assessing and managing a caseload of projects within a defined area of England, joining an existing team of Grants Officers.
