We are seeking a proactive, strategic, and mission-aligned Funding Manager to join our growing team. This pivotal role will lead on identifying, applying for, and managing multiple streams of funding to support the delivery and expansion of our work. As a small charity with big impact, funding is vital to everything we do — from running support services to delivering education and campaigning for change. The Funding Manager will be at the heart of ensuring our sustainability and growth by securing the resources we need. You will be line managed by the Chair of Trustees, and work closely with the Treasurer and other trustees as needed to complete applications, manage current funding applications and report on grant outcomes.
What are the key responsibilities of this role?
This role will have the following duties, but are not limited to:

Identify and research suitable funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, statutory bodies, and other grant-makers

Lead and coordinate the writing and submission of compelling funding bids, applications, and proposals.

Manage and track existing grants, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and deadlines.

Work with trustees (e.g. Treasurer and Chair) to gather financial and impact data for applications and reports.

Maintain a funding pipeline and reporting calendar, ensuring visibility of all application stages and deadlines.

Build and maintain relationships with funders, providing updates on Hidayah’s work and impact.

Monitor trends in the funding landscape and keep the charity informed of relevant changes and opportunities.

Advise and support the Board in developing a long-term funding strategy.

To maintain clear records on the organisation’s shared systems (Google Drive).

Grant Writer
Position Overview
The Grant Writer will play a pivotal role in securing funding to support Wekume’s programmes and initiatives. This role involves identifying grant opportunities, preparing compelling proposals, managing donor relationships, and ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements. The successful candidate will collaborate with programme and finance teams to align funding opportunities with organisational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify prospective public and private funding sources (foundations, trusts, corporate donors, and government agencies).
- Prepare, write, and submit persuasive grant proposals, applications, and letters of inquiry.
- Develop and maintain a grant calendar to track deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with programme staff to gather information for proposals, ensuring accuracy and alignment with funder priorities.

Purpose of the Role:
We seek a Web Manager (Unpaid Volunteer) to support our website upgrade, digital and fundraising strategy, manage WordPress sites, optimise user experience, and drive results through improved web performance. - Design and build health tools, such as BMI Index scales, health quizzes, medical screenings, assessments, and questionnaires, to enhance the website's interactivity and educational value.
- Expand and add new sections to the current website, such as the Projects and Impact sections, showcasing our projects and their impact through stories, videos, and case studies.
- Performance Optimisation: Enhance search engine rankings and overall website performance using expert-level SEO.
- Analytics and reporting: Track and analyse web traffic, sales metrics, and marketing data to measure success, forecast trends, and provide actionable insights to the bus.

Who are we looking for?

As a Volunteer Integrated Technology Project Lead with Living Reasons, you will oversee the project management of technology integration across all aspects of our operations, including both software and hardware. This role will also focus on driving innovation—creating solutions that not only strengthen Living Reasons but also have the potential to be developed and supplied to other businesses or end users through the organisation. Living Reasons is being created to fix what we think is a challenging situation that is getting harder to achieve every week, month and year in the current economic, political, environmental and societal landscape. Marketing and Communications
We are looking for a senior communications professional who has leadership experience and expertise in strategic communications, branding, digital campaigns and marketing. Some fundraising experience would also be advantageous.
The ideal person will also being strong connections, networks and influence to the organisation, and will be keen to help the charity build its profile, messaging, impact and awareness. This is a key area for the charity’s development and should help to bring an entrepreneurial approach to the Board, while supporting the charity’s Director of Engagement and communications team.

Finance
We are looking for a senior financial/accounting professional to work alongside our current Treasurer with a view to succeeding them in the coming years. This person will play an important role in ensuring the financial viability of the organisation, working with the Head of Finance to ensure that the charity’s financial affairs are legal, constitutional and within accepted accounting practice. This includes compliance with charity law, company law and all other relevant legislation or regulations.
The ideal person will work with the independent auditors on the annual Statutory Accounts process, be fully involved in budget setting, ensure that effective financial procedures and controls are in place, and will help to ensure that the Board and senior managers are aware of their financial obligations.
The ability to interpret and clearly communicate financial data, and an understanding of charity accounts would be an advantage.
For both roles, you don’t need to have been a Trustee before. What matters is your commitment to our values and your ability to think strategically, challenge constructively, and act in the best interests of the charity.

Brighton and Hove Independent Mediation Service (BHIMS) is a charity that has been working to reduce conflict in the local community for over 30 years. Our core services cover community mediation and conflict coaching in Brighton & Hove, and Lewes areas, while also providing workplace mediation and training services. Operationally, we are run by a small team of paid staff, and our core work is delivered by 50+ volunteer mediators.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We currently have a very active board of 5 trustees and are looking for additional board members to expand on current skillset and help the charity deliver even better service to our community in a sustainable and optimised way.
Specifically, we need our new board members to help us secure funding for our future. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING
Alongside our existing board members, you will be jointly involved in all board responsibilities, shaping the future direction of the charity and helping ensure the charity is carrying out its purpose and all resources and funds are used only in furthering its charitable objective. You will be preparing for and attending monthly board meetings, contributing to board discussions and decision making, and assisting in setting the direction for future fundraising efforts.
Working closely with our Chair of Trustees and Treasurer, you will:

Design and oversee our fundraising strategy; help us set goals and align our fundraising efforts to our organisation's needs, as well needs of our service users and existing funders expectations

Further help us shape and develop funding streams to resource service development – as well as source additional funding to support what is already in place

Support and actively participate in our fundraising efforts, including fundraising campaigns, from overseeing grant writing and submission to donor cultivation and advocacy

Act as an advocate, clearly articulating the organization's mission, programs, and impact to inspire others to support the cause

A good understanding of charity landscape, including fundraising and grant opportunities and restrictions, and willingness to expand to areas relevant to our charity

Are you passionate about supporting and managing volunteers in a small charity? Our Volunteer Coordinators will recruit, support & develop a team of volunteers, to enhance our work supporting people impacted by a chronic pain condition
What will you be doing?
We are looking for 3 volunteer coordinators to join the coordinators team who will volunteer to support our volunteers in various roles. The volunteer coordinators will
- Help to assess organisational and programme needs to determine number and range of volunteers needed for particular projects
- Help to recruit, and assure the adequate training of suitable, reliable volunteers
- Co-ordinate the volunteers to ensure that there is always someone available to support all our services
- Help to create and distribute information regarding volunteer policies and procedures
- Monitor volunteers during their appointments to retain or replace candidates
- Meet and check-in with volunteers regularly to assess their progress and satisfaction, as well as to conduct evaluations or skills audits
- Help to induct new volunteers
- Maintain regular communication among volunteers and between an organisation and its volunteers, in order to share news, progress, and available positions
- Maintains a database of volunteers and projects and track metrics
- Help to promote the charity and its volunteer accomplishments
- Set up and arrange any relevant training required for volunteers
What are we looking for?
The Volunteer Co-ordinators role requires proactive and detail orientated individuals with an organised approach and an interest in supporting small charities. They will have good communication skills. The Volunteer Co-ordinators are responsible for the volunteer aspects of Burning Nights CRPS Support to ensure the smooth running of the charity’s services and ensuring that the volunteers are used optimally.
Our Volunteer Co-ordinators are also responsible for ensuring that suitable volunteers have DBS checks where needed and they are adequately trained to do their role working with our Charity Administrator.

But we see and know first hand the impact it has on those living with it and on those caring for someone with the condition. We know the huge challenges they face even with simply getting a correct diagnosis, let alone the appropriate treatment and relevant support.
You will join the charity during a challenging period and your expert knowledge and experience will be invaluable to our success. You will have a key role in ensuring we can maintain our support services and become a sustainable charity to allow us to fulfil our aims.

Lived Experience Board Member (Advisory Role)
About the Role
At Living Reasons, we believe that real change comes from lived experience. To make sure everything we do is relevant, effective, and grounded in the realities of people’s lives, we are creating a Lived Experience Advisory Board.
This is a non-executive, advisory role. Board members do not carry trustee responsibilities but instead play a vital part in shaping and guiding the organisation. The insights and perspectives of our board members will directly inform the decisions of our trustees, helping us stay focused on what truly matters to the people we support.
How the Board Works

The board is made up of different lived experience groups, each focusing on particular areas.

Members can meet in their groups to share experiences, support one another, and identify key issues.

Groups can also set up their own sub-groups where needed.

Each group decides what information it wants to share with Living Reasons — members are always in control of their voice.

From time to time, the full board meets together to discuss wider themes, shared experiences, and how these can guide the direction of Living Reasons.

What is the plan?
The person who is starting the charity up is autistic, has ADHD, CPTSD and also multiple physical conditions that effect daily life and is part of the LGBTQ+ community and has faced a lot of issues in life because of these things.
Living Reasons is being created to fix what we think is a challenging situation that is getting harder to achieve every week, month and year in the current economic, political, environmental and societal landscape. It is not easily defined but we hope the charity objects below will help put context to what we want to achieve, what we can say is that below are the issues we are trying to address, how we do this will change as quickly as society does, but the issues we want to tackle are these:
