What we are looking for

• Someone who is skilled in delivering a person-centred and trauma-informed approach to their work

• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social or equivalent experience in a support setting. We value transferable skills, even if gained outside of formal qualifications

Role Summary 

Our current Director of Finance & Operations will be going on maternity leave in mid-October 2025 and we are looking for an experienced and energetic interim Director of Finance & Operations who will be able to hit the ground running in overseeing all of our finance, HR and operations, which underpin our core mission and work to support babies, families and health professionals across the neonatal community.

The successful candidate will lead all aspects of Bliss’ financial management, including our strategic approach to financial and business planning as well as supporting effective delivery of our day-to-day financial systems and processes. They will have overall responsibility for Bliss’ core organisational support functions of HR, IT, and facilities, and will also contribute to the daily running and future direction of the charity as a member of the Senior Management Team.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who:
-Is a CCAB qualified (or equivalent) team leader with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
-Has significant accountancy experience, with knowledge and experience of charity finance
-Has a good understanding of the financial and governance aspects of a charity, particularly the application of Charity SORP
-Has a strong understanding of business functions including HR, contract management, IT systems, and office and administrative processes
-Will enjoy working collaboratively across an organisation to drive business planning and performance.

At the Alliance for a Cavity-Free Future (ACFF) we are dedicated to helping the billions of people worldwide suffering from untreated caries. This suffering disproportionately affects people from disadvantaged population groups and costs the global economy an estimated $245 billion USD.

We work for better oral health for all through a number of interconnected programmes including advocating at global conferences and meetings, local groundwork throughout 28 volunteer Chapters, designing and recommending better oral health policies for national governments through our Policy Labs and more.

We are looking for a freelance Director of Operations and Finance to work for an average of 4 days a week for a total of 180 days a year. They will be part of the senior leadership team alongside the Chief Strategy and Advocacy Officer and the Chair of the Board of Trustees.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Strategy

● Deliver our Operations and Finance KPIs as outlined in the Charity’s strategy; as well as being jointly responsible for the successful implementation of the full strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities

Management of the Community Centre

• Manage the operations of the Community Centre, its staff and the development and delivery of activities and facilities in line with the business and strategic plan.

Role Requirements

• Work in collaboration with the Senior Placement Managers and multidisciplinary team to manage the child’s pathway from the time they are accepted for admission, through their care pathway and discharge.

This vital role supports our Samaritans Training and Engagement Programmes (STEP) by guiding customers through their sales journey, coordinating training course bookings, and ensuring seamless delivery. You’ll play a key part in helping us generate income while providing best-in-class support to our customers. This is a brand new role, to grow the programme further in 2025-2026 and beyond.

• Ability to develop strong, warm working relationships with both internal colleagues and external customers using excellent communication skills, problem solving, trust and reliability.

• Experience of prioritising own workload and working to deadlines with speed and accuracy.

As Senior Volunteer Co-ordinator, you’ll play a central role in growing and supporting our network of local support groups. This is a permanent role with responsibility for supporting women and girls who are survivors of sexual violence, to navigate the criminal justice system. As an Multiple Disadvantage ISVA you will have a good understanding of what constitutes multiple disadvantages, disempowerment, or discrimination, and how they intersect with experiences of sexual violence. You should have experience of providing support to women with multiple complex needs, ideally within the Criminal Justice System. In addition to having excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills you should also be able to develop key relationships with external agencies. You should have demonstrable experience of working with survivors of sexual violence and of working in a trauma-informed way. We will provide clinical supervision, full training and line management, and the opportunity to develop your skillsets. Responsible to the Advocacy service Deputy Manager you will be a key member of the advocacy service, working alongside our ISVA’s and Case Workers in a busy and supportive team.
