Thousands of cats each year rely on the help of animal charities because they have been abandoned, they have strayed or because there has been a change in their owner’s circumstances. Becoming an administration volunteer is just one way you can help improve the lives of cats in your local community. Our administration volunteers help provide vital admin support to our volunteer groups and teams across Cats Protection. They help keep up to date records of the number of cats that have been rehomed, collate supporter details and send out newsletters. This could be the perfect volunteer role if you have administrative experience, a passion for cats, or both!

What we need from you

You’ll be:

· Recording relevant information related to your volunteer group

· Signposting enquiries to the relevant teams within Cats Protection

· Sending information to supporters, volunteers and to our Head Office

· Distributing information leaflets if required

Time expectation

Our administration volunteers usually spend 2 to 3 hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.

Seeking Website Administrator to maintain The IWI’s websites and assist members with any technical issue.

Responsibilities:

• Website Maintenance: Keeping the organisation’s websites up-to-date with the latest content, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and optimal performance. 
• Content Management: Managing and updating website content, including text, images, videos, and other media. 
• Security Management: Implementing and maintaining website security protocols, such as firewalls and encryption, to protect against cyber threats. 
• Performance Monitoring: Tracking website performance metrics, such as traffic, load times, and user behaviour, and identifying areas for improvement. 
• Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving technical issues that may arise, such as broken links, slow loading times, or errors. 
• User Experience (UX): Ensuring the websites are user-friendly, easy to navigate, and provides a positive experience for visitors. 
• Technical Support: Providing technical assistance to website users and resolving any issues they may encounter. 

Specific Tasks:

• Managing domain names and web hosting.
• Backing up website data and implementing disaster recovery plans.
• Optimising website pages for search engines (SEO).
• Analysing website traffic using tools like Google Analytics.
• Collaborating with developers on website design and functionality.
• Developing and implementing website strategies to improve performance and user engagement.

VOLUNTEER ADMINISTRATOR

Across the UK, our 65 local branches work with disabled people to help them live the lives they choose. Our network of skilled volunteers respond to thousands of requests each year to design and make customised equipment free of charge.

Our Administrator volunteers are the lynchpin our local branch activities. They act as the first point of contact, ensure useful information is circulated to other members and help us make sure we keep all the data and details we need up to date.

What the role involves

This is a varied role that each branch tends to do a bit differently, but it will involve:

• Keeping records and data up to date and taking notes at meetings

• Preparing mail-outs

• Answering enquiries

• Accessing the branch Remap Email and Portal accounts

• Booking venues for meetings

• Ensuring branch members are aware of current agreements/activities

We can support you to develop the skills you need for this role, and there’s an induction that covers all the areas above. You’ll also have chance to discuss your role and any additional needs with us.

What you’ll need for this role

• Confident using Microsoft Office, the internet and email

• Comfortable organising the administration of a group

• Able to follow Remap policies and procedures

Where will I volunteer?

The Finance Volunteer role is largely home based, but it varies from branch to branch – some branches hold in-person meetings once a month or so, and their Finance Volunteers tend to be based in the area the branch covers.

If it works better for you, however, there’s a possibility this role could be done remotely.

Time commitment

This also varies, but it’s generally around 1-2 hours a week.

We’ve designed our volunteering programme to be flexible and adaptive to you.  All volunteering is 100% remote and you’re supported fully by our team.  You control what you do and how many hours per week you want to volunteer.  Some roles may require an Enhanced DBS check. If your application is successful, we will ask for a donation towards the cost of your enhanced DBS check if it's required for your role. This cost is £20.60.

Travel Radar is growing; We are looking for a experienced and skilled Operations Manager to join our team and support our growth by supporting our Editorial volunteers in the smooth operations of the organisation. You will have a hands-on role managing a busy team within the organisation, composed largely of volunteers and interns.

Responsibilities and A Little More About the Role:

• Coordinate management activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to company policies
• Supervise department staff and divide responsibilities to ensure KPIs are met

Our Fundraising team is looking for a data entry volunteer to support them for 2 - 3 months to assist with the data migration from our current CRM to our new CRM.

This role would suit someone who is detail oriented as it will involve systematically working through all our contacts and seeing if they are up to date. They will also need to look through emails and summarise any important information or contact that has been made with the contact over the last few years. Confident in IT and good communication skills is essential. Ideally, the person can commit to help the charity for 2-3 months and minimum 2 days per week or more (5 days per week would be wonderful!) to complete the project in good time. This is a remote role unless the person would like to work in our office in Bristol. Laptop will be provided and we would require two references and ID checks. 

Our volunteers will also get the opportunity to learn more about the work that we and to support other projects that they may be interested in. Even better if you are interested in fundraising as you will be mostly working with our fundraising and comms team.
