The problem - On average, 160 young people are excluded from school each week. Once excluded, prospects for these young people are bleak, with only 4% achieving good GCSE grades, and 67% entering sustained education, employment or training compared to 96% of their non-excluded peers. This can be a pipeline to prison, with concerning statistics showing 63% of prisoners having been excluded from school.
Our mission - To ensure that young people who have been excluded from school are not excluded from society.
Who we serve - We support the hardest to reach young people in the most disadvantaged communities, each of whom are most at risk of experiencing school exclusion or are at risk of being excluded. Young people who are eligible for free school meals are 4x more likely to get excluded, along with black Caribbean boys. Young people with special educational needs are also six times as likely to be excluded as their peers.
Our work - We work in a number of different settings both during term time and after school. Our coaches lead small groups of 8-10 young people, using sport as a hook and mentorship as an anchor to develop their soft skills, as well as improve their physical & mental wellbeing. This, coupled with exposure to the work place through Career Taster Days, raises their aspirations and puts young people in a better position to enter sustained education, employment or training (EET) when they leave school.
Role Overview

We are looking for people to join our team across England and Wales in Newcastle, Liverpool, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Cardiff, Luton, Milton Keynes, London.
We are recruiting Youth Workers across our delivery locations in England and Wales to join our squad in August for the new academic year. This is a frontline role where you will spend the majority of your time working with young people, building relationships with them and delivering our full programme of activities which includes rugby based activity sessions, employability workshops, career taster days and more.
You will be working with some of the hardest to reach young people who are most at risk of exclusion, in small groups of 8-10. We use rugby as a hook and mentorship as an anchor, using our four cornerstones (developing life skills, raising aspirations, improving physical wellbeing, focus on mental wellbeing) to develop young people throughout their time with us. We enable young people to be in a better position to enter sustained education, employment or training (EET) when they leave school.
The delivery team always work in pairs, running our interventions across a variety of settings (including mainstream schools, Pupil Referral Units, Alternative Provisions, SEN schools, Youth Offenders Institutes, community centres and rugby clubs) working in the school timetable and between 3-7pm. While delivering our interventions is a big part of the job, you will also be responsible for supporting the team to ensure the successful collection of data, managing school relationships and delivering on partnership projects.
You do not need to be a rugby fanatic for this role, but you do need to be passionate about social mobility of the excluded. We are looking for someone with a youth work, teaching, mentoring or sports coaching background to help strengthen our team as we work towards our forward strategy.

About the role
As Project Officer you will play a central role in the delivery of INTRAC’s consultancy assignments and grant funded projects. This will involve coordinating short and long term projects, involving staff and consultants through our global network and clients around the world, ensuring effective and quality delivery. BANNAR are a group of professionals from medical, nursing, allied health and third sector backgrounds working in adolescent and young adult (AYA) rheumatology. The network aims to promote best practice and develop research in this area by working with professionals and supporting the National Youth Advisory Panel, Your Rheum.
At Versus Arthritis our mission is to ensure everyone with arthritis has access to the treatments and support they need to live the life they choose with a real hope of a cure in the future. In our new strategy, the impact of arthritis across the life course is identified as a cross cutting theme and this role will help deliver our mission for adolescents and young people.
You will be passionate about improving outcomes for young people with long term conditions, be skilled at working with a range of stakeholders and have strong administration skills. You will work closely with the BANNAR leadership team and BANNAR members but the role will sit in the Health Development team at Versus Arthritis. The BANNAR Project Support Officer will support the BANNAR Leadership team and BANNAR members to maintain a valuable professional network. You will do this by producing a programme of communications and events tailored to the network’s needs and promoting the network to new members via effective networking. You will play a key role in maximising the impact of BANNAR’s work in adolescent and young adult rheumatology by supporting Your Rheum activities, monitoring and reporting the achievements of the network, and supporting joint working with teams across Versus Arthritis and beyond. TPP are recruiting an EQA Manager on behalf of our client, a highly respected awarding organisation dedicated to ensuring the safe and fair awarding of qualifications.
The Role:
As the EQA Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing external quality assurance processes and procedures, maintaining high standards and compliance with regulatory and awarding organisation requirements.
Main responsibilities:
- Manage all EQAs, including performance management processes.
- Lead recruitment efforts and ensuring appropriate training for EQAs.
- Ensure the smooth implementation of EQA processes and procedures to uphold regulatory compliance.
- Deliver annual budget reports to the Head of Access and Compliance, providing detailed forecasting and recommendations.
- Develop and execute annual training and development plans for centres, EQAs, and internal colleagues.
- Create centre-based training materials and handbooks.
- Supervise standardisation activities and materials for EQAs, both internally and externally.
- Offer recommendations to the Head of Access and Compliance regarding external quality assurance and ongoing improvement efforts.
- Assist the broader organisation in readiness for inspections, audits, and self-assessments.
- Coordinate and ensure EQAs allocation to carry out monitoring in line for CASS strategy.
Requirements:
- Project and line management experience.
- Knowledge of current education legislation.
- Knowledge of awarding body and regulatory structures.
- Experience in external quality assurance processes and report writing.
- Understanding of post-16 education and lifelong learning.
- Excellent organisational skills, diligence and integrity.
- Experience of networking with key stakeholders.

Reporting to an Engagement Team Manager you will recruit volunteers by promoting Re-engage’s services.
develop effective relationships with new and existing referrers such as social prescribers and community link workers.
identify and cultivate new, innovative referral pathways to connect with a broader demographic of seniors experiencing social isolation and loneliness.
support the wider Re-engage team in the delivery of our grant funded projects.
This role has a national UK remit and as and where the need arises.
Engagement Officer tasks and requirements:
- Growing and developing our network of referral partners, including social prescribers and link workers, ensuring that Re-engage's work is promoted to people aged 75+ who are experiencing social isolation and loneliness.
- Utilise Re-engage's CRM (OPUS) to inform evidence-based, data-driven decision-making to develop effective engagement plans.
- Working closely with the service delivery team ensuring that the right people are recruited and engaged into the right roles, in the right place, and at the right times.
- Collaborating with the communications team to support the widest possible publicity for the charity’s needs through media and social media opportunities, local press, radio, TV, and online forums.
- Liaising closely with the fundraising team delivering against recruitment targets linked to grants and supporting them with persuasive proposals and grant applications, using acquired national knowledge and collecting case studies.
- Identifying speaking and presenting opportunities ensuring that Re-engage's work is promoted to referrers.
- Joint accountability, with colleagues, for growing the engagement of older people and the recruitment of volunteers into Re-engage's portfolio of services.
- Carrying out any other reasonable tasks assigned to you by your line manager.
- We put the safeguarding of our older people, volunteers, and colleagues at the heart of everything we do and as such, this role will be subject to an enhanced criminal record check.
Knowledge, skills, and attributes
Essential
- Excellent people skills with a proven ability to network and collaborate with professionals, partners, older people, volunteers, and colleagues.
- Digital first approach with strong ability and enthusiasm about using technology to its full advantage to engage and recruit older people and volunteers and make data informed decisions.
- Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders from the statutory, commercial, and voluntary sectors to deliver results.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Organised and methodical approach to work with strong administrative skills.
- Self-motivated, able to work remotely at pace to deadlines with minimal supervision and meet KPIs.
