What does the role involve?

The Membership and Awards Assistant is a new role in the Membership team at the British Pharmacological Society. The Membership and Awards Assistant will work with the Membership and Awards Manager, other Society staff and the Society’s members to ensure that all aspects of the membership and awards service are operated effectively and efficiently, including membership, awards and travel bursary applications, member renewals and progression, and election to Fellowship and Honorary Fellowship.

You will have solid experience working in a membership organisation and/or experience of dealing with customer service enquires, using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, processing records, paying close attention to detail, and the ability to suggest and make improvements to procedures. With support from Hestia's Fundraising Team, explore opportunities for additional funding. Co-produce community-led activities that empower individuals to improve their health and wellbeing, supporting residents to initiate and run local interest-based groups. Recruit and supervise volunteers to enhance programme delivery. Conduct outreach, including home and hospital visits when needed, and explore digital solutions to strengthen service provision. Facilitate peer support through various formats, participate in service evaluations, and help implement participatory evaluation methods. Work in partnership with the council and stakeholders to assess and respond to community needs with flexibility.

Terms and Working Hours

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

WHL Finance Administrative Tasks

• Tracking and reconciliation of WHL credit card transactions;

• Supporting fundraising applications, reporting and communications, including quarterly reporting for special projects.

The Repairs Manager will work as part of the Property Services team. Assuming day-to-day responsibility for the oversight and coordination of all repair and maintenance activities across all tenures (Supported, Unsupported, Intermediate and Market Rent).

The Role

• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving, data and record management
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders
• Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
• Strong report writing, mathematical and analytical skills
• A Level 3 qualification or above in Business Administration, Property Management, Finance or related field (or equivalent relevant experience)
