The Role
Reporting to the Head of Development (New Business & Philanthropy) and working closely with our Development Managers, the Development Executive will play a crucial role in generating new income opportunities for the Trust. You will research, identify, and qualify prospects across corporates, trusts and foundations, and high-net-worth individuals. Using tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Dynamics CRM, and wider sector insight, you’ll build a strong, insight-led pipeline of opportunities that support our mission.

The Welland Trust, set up for public benefit, is a charity seeking to relieve the needs of care experienced people primarily, but not exclusively through promoting their health, relieving unemployment and by developing their skills and capacity so that they are able to participate more fully in society. It provides housing and mentoring support for care experienced people and associated facilities, amenities, and services for them.

“Care experienced” means adults who have, at some stage, had foster care or residential care experience.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be accountable for the sale and purchase ledgers for the various legal entities across the group of charities and companies for which the finance department is responsible.

You will match and code invoices, prepare and run BACS payments, reconciling bank statements and working out VAT payments.  You will provide a professional and efficient service to the finance function, monitoring how much is owed at all times and providing accurate financial information to the Finance Director as needed.

Finance Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):

· Checking, coding and posting invoices

· Making payments via online banking.

· Processing financial support requests to charity beneficiaries

· Processing monthly credit card statements.

· Processing staff expenses

· Setting up of new customer and supplier accounts, and maintaining existing account details

· Reconciliation of supplier statements

· Liaising with suppliers and being the first point of contact for all relevant enquiries

· Raising sales invoices as and when required.

· Chasing customers for outstanding invoices and working to resolve queries as and when they arise.

· Monthly bank reconciliations

· Updating crisis and grant analysis schedules.

Technical competencies required and demonstrable in your application:

· Sage knowledge would be advantageous for this role

· Bookkeeping

· Advanced excel skills and working knowledge of other Microsoft applications

· Experience working in a financial environment and able to demonstrate an understanding of accounting issues

· Ability to resolve and reconcile issues with limited supervision by identifying sources of errors, making retrospective corrections, and ensuring that appropriate changes are put in place to prevent reoccurrence

It is the nature of work of The Welland Trust that tasks and responsibilities may be unpredictable and varied.  All staff are therefore, expected to work in a flexible way when the occasion arises where tasks are not specifically covered in the Job Description and have to be undertaken.

The Finance Officer will work within the Finance Department to provide essential day today financial processing, support and advice. The post-holder will be a key member of the team in keeping accurate and up to date records of the organisations financial activities on both the accounting system & associated files.

You’ll be based at the Wildlife Trust’s Head Office at Centre of the Earth, 42 Norman Street, Birmingham, B18 7EP, with some work at our EcoPark site in Small Heath and occasional travel across the region and nationally. 

Key Responsibilities

• Creation and maintenance of processes and systems to ensure the smooth running of the finance function including adding new suppliers and customers to the system
• To be responsible for keeping up to date and accurate records of financial transactions on Excel and the accounting system
• To raise and issue sales invoices, follow up outstanding invoices and resolve any issues.
• To liaise with suppliers and creditors to maintain relationships as part of cash flow management.
• To check and reconcile purchase invoices ready for payment, to investigate and resolve any issues.
• To be responsible for the petty cash system in line with the organisations Financial Procedures.
• To manage the purchase order process ensuring compliance in line with policy.
• To complete regular bank, Petty cash and credit card reconciliations.
• To oversee the credit card processing, ensuring security at all times.
• To ensure all contracts/agreements are central filed and updated on the database.
• To report to statutory bodies such as Entrust
• To support the Director of Finance with the production of finance reports to senior managers on a monthly basis relating to income & expenditure
• To support with the processing of direct debits for membership donations
• To support with ad hoc tasks as the trust requires
• To support the preparation for the annual audit, e.g. stock take reconciliation, fixed asset records, Charity Commission and Companies House checks.
• To run the payroll reports and send to the Director of Finance for review and approval
• Undertake other duties as requested by line manager that contribute to Trust strategies.

We're Hiring: Play & Youth Work Lead | Doorstep Homeless Families Project

About us

The Adanna Women’s Support Group provides training and skills to help women into employment and to help women excel in the jobs they are doing. Our training is in Business skills, administration, IT, childcare and employability.

We are looking for an employment coach who can support women who are economically inactive to improve their skills and find employment

 

The Role

This role will support a small caseload of women with a range of needs who are looking to move into work, enabling them to find the right opportunities and sustain the roles through improved skills training. The coach will also need to be skilled in working with employers to source jobs and support them to make their roles accessible. Growing and maintaining a strong employer base will be a central part of this role.

Minimum Criteria

· An understanding of the employment needs, and challenges faced by BAME women who are economically inactive or experience multiple barriers to employment.

· Experience of working with individuals on a one-to-one basis, developing personalised plans and goal setting

· Experience of managing a range of tasks at any one time, and holding positive relationships with different stakeholders

-Experience of designing and delivering entry level training e.g. digital skills, confidence building, English as a second language conversation sessions

Working hours

· The role is a part time fixed contract position with the possibility of extending pending receipt of funding. Working 21 hours per week, Monday, Thursday and Friday. Hours are flexible but ideally 9.30 to 4.30pm.

The SLA supports approximately 2000 members with advice, training and advocacy across the UK. The Training and Events Manager will form an essential part of the SLA team working to run a high quality, inspiring and engaging events and training to help us deliver on our mission to support members, so that more children and young people reach their full potential through the school library. You will lead on the organisation of our annual conference; develop and maintain a calendar of events and training for members and non-member audiences; and support the team with all event related administration and logistics.  Events at the SLA include member meet ups (in person and online), events in our branch network across 23 regions, professional development and training, and our SLA Awards ceremonies.

Your work will be at the forefront of our member offer, helping to build links with membership, support members, build relationships with key stakeholders and sponsors, delivering high-quality training and impactful events offer across the year. An agile and flexible thinker, you will be creative, with a flair for spotting opportunities for professional development, and have a keen eye for detail with an ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Using your project management experience, you will work with the CEO, SLA team colleagues and subject matter experts and facilitators to develop and deliver a high quality and competitive calendar of events and training.

About the role

GISF is seeking a highly capable professional with strong project management skills, excellent stakeholder engagement experience, and the ability to work independently at pace.

The post-holder will play a pivotal role in delivering GISF’s sector-leading events, ensuring a healthy and active membership network, and driving engagement with the commercial sector. As an outward-facing role with broad engagement responsibilities, we are looking for a confident communicator, a natural relationship-builder, and someone with an organised approach to managing multiple priorities.

Key responsibilities

Member & External Engagement

• Project manage GISF’s annual member forum, ensuring coordination of all contributing staff, guest speakers, contractors, and suppliers.
• Oversee the delivery of GISF’s flagship conference convening NGOs, UN agencies, donors and private sector partners.
• Lead the delivery of additional engagements, including GISF’s programme at the Humanitarian Networks and Partnership Week annually in Geneva, high-level roundtables with donors and states, webinars, and more.
• Represent GISF at sector events with professionalism.
• Contribute to GISF’s influencing work and policy level engagements, working closely with the Head of Policy and Engagement on advocacy efforts, policy messaging, and strategic outreach.

Membership administration

• Proactive scoping of new members and engage with interested prospective members on application process.
• Manage the full membership application pipeline, including due diligence and coordination with the GISF Steering Group to approve new members.
• Working closely with the Communications & Engagement Officer to onboard new members, ensuring they are set up across all relevant systems.
• Track, update, and report on member engagement using Salesforce.

Commercial engagement

• Lead on immediate sponsorship efforts for the 2026 Global Conference, including identifying prospective sponsors, developing tailored sponsorship materials, coordinating follow-up, and ensuring sponsor visibility requirements are integrated into conference planning.
• Support GISF’s wider commercial partnership programme by identifying and nurturing new leads through structured outreach and consistent relationship management.
• Coordinate closely with the Executive Director on sponsor meetings and pitches.
• Maintain accurate tracking of leads and progress on Salesforce.
• Document lessons learned, refine outreach processes, and contribute to the development of a partnership strategy and workflow.
