We receive no government funding and it is only thanks to the generosity of our supporters that vital life changing, life-saving neurological research can be funded.
We are a well-established charity that has recently launched a new strategy to accelerate the progress and funding of neurological research. This is a new role. As a small and ambitious charity, we are seeking someone who is keen to join a small growing team and develop their skills and career within a vibrant, positive organisation.
The role
Reporting to the Events and Community Fundraising Manager, you will play a key role as part of the Fundraising Team by providing the highest levels of fundraising and event administration support to ensure the provision of seamless, excellent supporter care and assistance to our supporters. Specific fundraising streams will include, but not be limited to, London Marathon, Other Runs and Challenges, Community Fundraising, Special Events and other streams as needed.
Whilst this role is primarily providing administrative and stewardship support for fundraising and event activities, there will be opportunities to be involved with all other aspects of the charity and the development of future fundraising initiatives and events.
The successful candidate will need to be a good team player, able to work independently; flexible; hard working and prepared to play an enthusiastic role in helping to deliver excellent supporter care and increased fundraising income. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities
In this position you will:
· Be a primary contact point for our London Marathon runners to provide excellent customer care and increase fundraising potential
· Answer general public and supporter enquiries that come in by telephone, email, social media and WhatsApp groups and mail in a way that makes them feel important and valued regardless of the nature of their enquiry
· Assist with the processing of all income (cash, cheques, online platform donations) correctly into the Donorfy database, and thank or pass to relevant team members for thanking in a timely manner
· Record as necessary enquiries, correspondence and responses on our Donorfy database
· Be a primary point of contact for our Challenge Event fundraisers. Build excellent relationships with them and provide materials and support, liaising before, during and following their activity/event as needed
· To work with the team to provide support for key fundraising activities such as the London Marathon and other challenge and running events. This will include assisting with event administration, proactively making telephone calls in response to applications for places in London Marathon and to encourage fundraising, answering telephone calls, responding to emails WhatsApp and Facebook messages, thanking participants, sending materials to participants and updating records on Donorfy
· Monitoring Social Media and assisting with providing content for these channels/platforms
· Communications support: this may include contributing content for appeals, website and enewsletters and will include monitoring stewardship schedules and deadlines where needed
· Act as liaison for BRUK’s administration where needed with our fulfilment house and/or other suppliers
· Liaise with finance and/or Head of Fundraising as required

It is essential that you have at least 12–15 months experience of working within the Third Sector in a supporter care and/or fundraising event administrative role

· Time management – you must be able to effectively manage your time and workload
· Attention to detail - you must be able to consistently produce accurate work

Responsibilities:

Data Analysis: Assist with data analysis tasks, including cleaning and analysing quantitative data using software (e.g., Excel, PowerBI), as well as coding and analysing qualitative data using thematic analysis techniques.
Reporting and Presentations : Assist with the preparation of key reports, dashboards, and presentations summarising key findings, trends, and insights from impact and evaluation activities for fundraising purposes, including developing content for social media.
Evaluation Planning: Assist the implementation of evaluation plans for specific programs or initiatives. Contribute to planning large-scale projects, including the selection of appropriate evaluation methods, data collection tools, and evaluation frameworks.
Survey Administration: Assist with the design, administration, and analysis of surveys to gather feedback from grantees, staff, and other stakeholders. Monitor and act on grantee feedback, sharing relevant results with key staff.
Research Administration: Schedule and undertake interviews/focus groups, supported by the I&E Manager. Manage administrative activities such as contact with participants, transcription and coding.
Collaboration: Support the I&E Manager to collaborate with internal staff, research partners, and organisations in the sector to support evaluation activities.

Job Purpose:
The Fundraising and Administration Officer role primarily focuses on providing excellent supporter care and administrative support within the fundraising department. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining supporter relations, optimising fundraising efforts, and ensuring efficient administrative processes are in place.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporter Care:
- To be a first point of contact for the Fundraising Department, answering the phone and meeting and greeting people who arrive to the office.
- Respond to enquiries from supporters, prospective supporters and volunteers via telephone, e-mail, and post, maintaining excellent supporter relations.
- Ensure timely and appropriate acknowledgments, using both standard and bespoke correspondence.
- To adhere to administrative procedures to ensure the delivery of a high-quality service which is compliant with all relevant legislation, policies, regulations, and guidelines.
- Provide admin support for Direct Mail letters and appeals, including the use of mail merge, when required.
- Assist with the ongoing stewardship of Regular Givers.
Community Fundraising:
- Co-ordinate the recruitment and appropriate use of volunteers to support fundraising.
- Develop relationships with volunteer fundraisers, with the aim of maximising the funds they raise through challenges, events and talks.
- Support the formation of volunteer fundraising groups.
- Support ongoing and new events within the UK, which may include occasional weekend and evening work.
- Take the lead with the co-ordination and administration of public collections in the UK.
- Take the lead in monitoring fundraising merchandise, and liaise with suppliers, for fundraising materials, including Christmas Cards.
Digital Marketing:
- Support in developing UK digital fundraising opportunities.
- Administer digital acquisition campaigns in the UK e.g. through digital advertising, to generate new donors.
Database Management (Training will be provided):
- Create and maintain contact records on Salesforce, ensuring supporter information is kept up to date by recording changes to mailing preferences, gift aid eligibility and contact details etc.
- Database maintenance and housekeeping e.g. identifying and merging duplicate records, removing, or archiving redundant data, adhering to GDPR protocols.
Finance Administration (Training will be provided):
- Efficiently process and reconcile incoming donations, received daily by post, online and phone. Bank cheques and cash on a weekly basis, and process credit card and CAF donations.
- Record all donations to Salesforce, ensuring the accurate coding of income to the correct source and supporter.
- Administer new Direct Debit instructions.
- Support monthly and quarterly reports demonstrating fundraising income received against budget, to inform the management team and provide accurate forecasting.
- Scan and upload credit card statements and invoices for payment by the Finance team.
- Record and reconcile petty cash expenditure.
- Assist the Finance team in the reconciliation of all income received, responding to any queries.
General Office Administration:
- Order office stationery and fundraising supplies, as required.
- Co-ordinate general office maintenance, as required.
- Arrange accommodation for staff travel to Shrewsbury.

- Excellent keyboard and numeracy skills, with a high-level of accuracy and attention to detail.

The Survivors Trust is a UK-wide membership organisation for specialist voluntary sector rape and sexual abuse support services. We’re looking for a Fundraising Officer to join our small and friendly team at our head office in Rugby, working with our Income Generation Manager to ensure our income meets the increasing demands for our services.
You will lead on developing and supporting trust, grant, commissioned and community fundraising activities, including researching fundraising opportunities and writing grant applications, working in collaboration with the Income Generation Manager. We’re looking for someone to support our exectutive office. You'll be someone who is able to provide a high level of professional support to the Chief Executive in the effective management of their calendar, correspondence, as well as committee support of the Board of Trustees and it's subcommittees. This role is also responsible for accreditations and managing ad-hoc projects.

Key duties

Essential Criteria
- Ability to read and write fluently to an exemplary standard in English
- Ability to read and write at a basic conversational level in Welsh
- Good general education i.e. A-levels, including English and Welsh to at least to GSCE or equivalent

- Previous experience of providing high level administrative support to senior staff as well as diary management

Main duties and responsibilities
· Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with individual donors to maximize financial support and our community of supporters.
· Plan and execute individual giving campaigns, across all available communication channels to engage donors effectively.
· Identify, organise and coordinate donor and community events, creating opportunities to engage, retain and celebrate supporters.
· Maintain accurate donor records, utilising data to inform decision-making and improve fundraising efforts.
· Prepare regular reports and analysis on individual giving performance.

Ideal skills and experience:
· Experience in generating income from all or one or two of the following: individual, community and events fundraising.

· Strong data management and analysis skills
· Good knowledge of current data protection/GDPR regulation.
