With a 65-year history of transformative change, we are a vibrant community of volunteers, practitioners, peer supporters, members and advocates. We are the largest parenting charity in the country and over the decades we’ve supported millions of people on their unique journey into parenthood.
While many know us for our antenatal classes, we also do much more. We campaign on issues that matter to parents, provide infant feeding support, and run thousands of free community events and activities led by our amazing volunteers. We also support families facing challenges like social isolation, feeding difficulties, and poor mental health. We offer support in communities, in hospitals and online.
About the role
Join our passionate team and contribute to the meaningful work that transforms the lives of parents and families. Your role will include:
- Provide line management and support to direct line reports and leadership for the project.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Hackney’s parent demographics and local support services, enabling effective signposting for marginalised communities.
- Build strong partnerships with local VCOs and stakeholders to engage underrepresented communities, working collaboratively to support meaningful co-production.
- Create and lead welcoming parent focus groups that amplify local voices and help shape the project to be inclusive, accessible, and responsive to families’ needs.
- Data collection and reporting appropriate to the project for monthly/quarterly review with commissioners.

Build a strong understanding of the diverse families in Hackney, taking an empathetic and proactive approach to engaging parents—particularly those whose voices are less often heard. Developing trusted relationships with local organisations and services, helping families access the support they need. Champion listening and co-creation, shaping accessible programmes through meaningful parent engagement, including focus groups. You will confidently use data to track progress, share learning, and demonstrate impact.
Above all, you will be driven to ensure every parent feels supported, connected, and heard.

This is an exciting and engaging job opportunity to join elop’s dedicated and enthusiastic team in a central coordination and development role within elop’s youth and community services. You’ll have an active role providing LGBTQ+ affirmative support for LGBTQ+ children and young people.
Working alongside the senior leadership team you will have a key role in identifying and actively contributing to and supporting the attainment of strategic objectives, sustainability, future service development, service standards and delivery strategy of elop’s youth and community services. This will include overseeing and ensuring efficient, effective, and smooth operations; maintaining accountable, professional, safe, and well administered services; service promotion, monitoring and evaluation; maintaining and developing new cross-sector networks, partnerships and collaborative relationships; ensuring services continue to meet existing and emerging needs and positively impact and make a genuine difference to those using them.
Our youth service includes age restricted youth groups, 1:1 mentoring, some school-based delivery with occasional training workshops; and our community services include delivery of an LGBTQ+ community forum, community events, social groups, and volunteering programmes.
Working both in-person office based, with some remote home-based working (particularly required whilst awaiting completion of building works and relocation to new premises) you will be required to work one late evening a week and occasional other evenings and weekends when required.
Full time: 37 hours per week
Salary: £34,000 inclusive London Weighting
This role is part funded by the Mercers Charitable Foundation and initially funded to 31 March 2028.

L’Arche Internship Programme Lead
ABOUT THE ROLE
Hours of work: 30 hours per week (0.8 FTE)
Salary: £31,507.88 plus London weighting if based in London per annum (Banding E1). Pro-rata £25,205.30
Place of work: London or within commuting distance to one of L’Arche’s Communities. The role also involves regular travel to L’Arche Communities UK-wide and national meetings; overnight stays required for retreats

Lead a transformative live-in internship programme that inspires personal growth through meaningful relationships, shared community life, and reflective spiritual practice.
We are looking for a passionate and compassionate Internship Programme Lead to shape and support the L'Arche Internship Programme, creating a great experience where reflective practice and belonging are at the heart of everyday life.
Main purpose of the role
The Internship Programme Lead is responsible for managing, delivering and continuously improving the L’Arche Internship Programme.
Working with the Deputy Facilitator and local community leads, you will support recruitment and marketing, facilitate online sessions and two annual residential retreats, and ensure interns have a meaningful and impactful experience across L’Arche communities.
The role includes around one day per week focused on formation activities (retreats, online sessions and events).
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

- Committed to living out L’Arche values authentically, with significant recent lived experience of L’Arche.
- Proven experience in group and individual support and facilitation, and mentoring (ideally within L’Arche or a similar setting).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a diverse range of individuals.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Confidently models creating spaces for giving and receiving clear, meaningful and evidence-based feedback.
- Able to empathise and provide support, work with group dynamics, manage boundaries, and demonstrate self-awareness and reflexivity.
- Demonstrable commitment to personal growth and reflective practice, particularly in spirituality and reflection; committed to ongoing development and learning.
- Promotes inclusion and belonging, creating cultures where people flourish.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently to communities and residential retreats (including occasional overnight stays).
- Understanding of budget management and ability to support a financially sustainable programme.
