Person specifications
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of and/or interest in forest governance and human rights, particularly in Central Africa. Additionally, they should have experience and/or interest in managing development project budgets, monitoring expenditure and processing payments.
Basic understanding of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL), project work plans, and logical frameworks is necessary, along with proficiency in producing high-quality financial and narrative reports.
The candidate must demonstrate the capability to manage projects in accordance with the requirements of institutional donors and contribute to strategic project development, including project design and the creation of funding proposals.
Furthermore, the successful applicant must be fluent in both written and spoken English and French.
They should also be willing to undertake travel for up to 16 weeks per year, including visits to remote forest areas.

Having identified a gap in the identification of young carers and adult carers looking after someone with substance misuse issues, over the past year we have successfully piloted a project to identify and provide long-term support to these carers. The Family Support Worker will work across our Young Carers and Adult Carers Service to provide support to families affected by substance misuse, through whole-family assessments and reviews. The successful candidate will ensure that adult and young carers, and their families, have access to a range of emotional and practical support appropriate to their needs.
The successful candidate will have an understanding of working within the substance misuse field and an understanding of associated health and social issues. They will preferably have experience of working with both adults, children and young people. We are seeking candidates with a professional qualification in health & social care, youth or community work, and/or direct experience of delivering family focused interventions.

- Streamline internal project communications with the partner cohort and other key stakeholders to enhance efficiency and clarity of messaging.

- Work with the partner cohort to identify key advocacy opportunities and relevant forums through which to promote the rights and needs of marginalised communities in Afghanistan.

About the role
As Senior Health Officer: Knowledge Management and Communication, you will be responsible for the knowledge management and MEAL functions for the health team. The successful Training lead will head our “Rise for Change” domestic abuse training programme and have the exciting opportunity to continue to grow the programme’s success to date. Rise for Change is a trauma informed domestic abuse training programme for non-specialist professionals. Uniquely created by our subject matter experts, our training directly addresses the need for intersectional and trauma informed domestic abuse training for professionals in all sectors. Our aim is to empower participants, no matter their professional role, to be able to respond safely and appropriately to domestic abuse both within the workplace and in the wider scope of their lives.

- This role is an exciting opportunity to form part of a team coordinating and developing our digital services, including contributing to two multi-year service development programmes currently underway, Osteoporosis Connect and Medication Support (Action for Osteoporosis) and overseeing our online peer-support communities.
- We’re looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build rapport, empathise with others, and foster positive relationships both online and offline.
- Do you have experience supporting online communities or support spaces, preferably within a healthcare or charitable organisation?
- Do you have experience coordinating projects or services? (digital experience would be ideal)
- Do you have experience of navigating sensitive or contentious topics with diplomacy, tact, and professionalism, ideally within online communities?
