Emergency Nutrition Network (ENN) works to reduce undernutrition globally. We enhance the effectiveness of nutrition policy and programming by improving knowledge, stimulating learning and building evidence. We are passionate about being network-driven, independent and evidence-based.

Terms and Conditions 

• Type of contract: Permanent contract 

• Location: ENN’s office in Kidlington, Oxfordshire. ENN operates a hybrid model with most of our Operations Team working Mondays and Fridays from home and Tues/Weds/Thurs in the office. 

ENN will consider requests for further flexible working arrangements. This will be considered on a case-by-case basis, balancing ENN’s needs with the successful candidate’s other commitments. 

• Holidays: 25 days plus UK Public Holidays, increasing by one day per annum after two complete years of service to a maximum of 27 days per annum. ENN also provides additional paid office closure days between Christmas and New Year. Pro-rata for part-time staff. 

• Pension: Auto-Enrolment to ENN scheme with a generous Employer contribution of 5% 

• Salary: circa £45,000 per annum, full-time equivalent, dependent on experience

• Hours of work: Part-time at 22.5 hours per week (can be worked as 3 full days or 5 shorter days)

Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Purpose of the Role 

The HR Manager plays a key leadership role, working on, and closely with, the management team to ensure effective HR support across the organisation. This role combines strategic HR advice with hands-on operational delivery, helping to shape a positive working culture and ensure compliance with employment law and best practice. 

Key Responsibilities 

Strategic HR Support 

• Advise the management team on HR strategy, policies and people matters 

• Help shape and promote a positive organisational culture and embed the organisation’s values 

• Identify and implement improvements to policies, structures, and staff processes 

• Produce quarterly HR reports and plan for the Board and Governance & People sub-committee meetings 

Compliance & Policy 

• Ensure HR policies and practices comply with UK and international employment law, as well as donor requirements 

• Keep policies up to date in collaboration with external HR support 

• Develop, monitor and maintain HR metrics and Management Information, preparing and presenting quarterly reports to Senior Management and Trustees. 

• Oversee mandatory training completion and procurement of training providers (e.g. safeguarding, data protection) 

• Act as the organisation’s Designated Safeguarding Officer and Data Protection Officer (training can be provided) 

People Practices & Support 

• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes for staff and consultants 

• Provide guidance to line managers on employee relations matters, performance management, and staff training and development 

• Oversee monthly payroll and pension processes

• Keep the organisation’s reward policy under review to help ensure fair and competitive compensation packages 

• Oversee that accurate and confidential HR records are maintained 

• Lead on staff engagement activities, surveys, and follow-up actions 

Learning & Development 

• Oversee professional development across the team through internal and external training 

• Work with managers to identify development needs and embed learning into performance appraisals 

Line Management & Coordination 

• Line manage the HR Advisor and Office Manager 

• Work with third-party providers such as benefit providers and Employers of Record for overseas staff to sustain cost-effective solutions whilst meeting compliance requirements 

Other Responsibilities 

• Due to relatively small size of organisation some critical roles/functions are shared between Management Team members. The HRM is the designated Safeguarding Officer and Data Protection Officer for which training can be given if required. The Management Team members rotate some other responsibilities

• Carry out other HR-related tasks as required by the management team 

Person Specification 

Essential 

• CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience 

• Strong HR generalist knowledge and understanding of UK employment law 

• Experience advising senior leaders and managing employee relations issues 

• Proven experience of change management and nurturing a positive culture 

• Line management experience and ability to support a small, diverse team 

• Strong communication, organisational and IT skills 

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively 

• Commitment to the values and mission of the charity 

Desirable 

• HR experience in the charity or non-profit sector 

• Experience supporting international recruitment or working with Employer of Record services 

• Knowledge of EDI policy development 

Eligibility to work

What the job involves

Prostate Cancer UK are launching the most ambitious fundraising appeal in our history, and we’re looking for a brilliant Appeal Manager to help make it happen. In this role, you’ll be right at the heart of the campaign, working closely with the Head of Appeal to keep everything on track and running smoothly. You’ll coordinate plans, manage timelines and milestones, and help make sure everyone involved knows what’s happening and when.

You’ll drive forward the creation of campaign materials too, from website content and videos to newsletters and donor content. You’ll have experience of working on a major fundraising appeal, capital campaign or within a high-performing fundraising team and know what it takes to deliver brilliant donor experiences. A sharp eye for detail and a proactive, collaborative approach are essential. You’ll enjoy working across teams, building strong relationships and making sure nothing slips through the net. About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as part of our Active Journeys team in the Tees Valley area, where you will help shape healthier, happier communities through walking, wheeling, and cycling. 

As Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the design, delivery, and oversight of behaviour change and engagement projects, as well as leading and supporting the delivery team. You’ll be at the heart of creating positive change, ensuring projects are cost-efficient, timely, and impactful. 

Key responsibilities include: 

• Lead the delivery of behaviour change and engagement projects and campaigns to encourage active travel.
• Manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective delivery in line with objectives and timelines.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, community groups, and partner organisations.
• Collaborate with the Sustrans Volunteering Team to coordinate and promote volunteer and community champion opportunities.
• Provide leadership and day-to-day oversight of an interdisciplinary delivery team.
• Mentor and coach direct reports to support their development and performance.
• Represent Sustrans through presentations, workshops, and meetings with existing and potential partners. 

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans. 

About you

You will bring a solid understanding of active travel and the barriers faced by communities experiencing inequalities, alongside knowledge or practical experience in behaviour change concepts and approaches. 

You will have demonstrable experience in: 

• Managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, particularly those with a strong emphasis on community engagement.
• Facilitating workshops and delivering presentations to diverse audiences, both in person and online.
• Communicating effectively across a range of formats and with varied audiences. 

You are a skilled problem solver with excellent organisational abilities, capable of managing and prioritising work across multiple projects to meet deadlines and targets.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our Post Adoption and Aftercare team and make a real difference to people’s lives. Facing an unknown past can be daunting. You will lead a team of experienced social workers to ensure service users access a high-quality, sensitive and compassionate service.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with a strong background in adoption or post-adoption work, who is ready to lead a small, dedicated team. The successful candidate will:

· Be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.

· Have at least five years’ experience of working in the field of adoption and/or post adoption, with a minimum of two years’ experience in post adoption.

· Have experience of managing a team, including providing supervision to other social workers.

· Have excellent knowledge of the Adoption and Children Act 2002 and related regulations.

· Be highly organised, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications and Experience (Essential):

• Educational Background: Possession of an NVQ Level 3 or 4 in fields such as Mental Health, Community Work, Psychology, Youth Work, or other related disciplines.

• Safeguarding Certification: Holding a Level 3 or 4 Safeguarding certification, qualifying them to serve as a Designated Safeguarding Lead.

• Professional Experience: Demonstrated experience in community engagement, mental health support, or outreach work, specifically within community settings rather than traditional care environments.

• Skill Set: Proficiency in applying safeguarding measures, trauma-informed care approaches, and mental health support strategies.

• Community Engagement: Proven ability to support vulnerable individuals, engage effectively with diverse communities, and implement programs that promote mental well-being.

About the role

You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the SU. Working as part of a busy team at the heart of the SU, you will be accountable for making sure that the staff and students have the financial advice and support they need to deliver our charitable purpose.

Your relationship with student treasurers and budget holders will be key, and you will ensure they have up to date and reliable management information, as well as ensuring that finance policies and processes are followed throughout the organisation.

You will act as finance lead on events and a range of projects, as well as providing expert knowledge of fundraising and grants support. You will also support the Head of Finance in delivering the strategic aims of the organisation, whilst stepping in to support the day-to-day delivery of your team.

Strategy, vision and impact [25%]

Relationship management [20%]

• Manage great relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, donors, and your Board of Trustees 
• Embed into your local church; working closely with your Spear Trustees and congregation, and actively participating in their mission and events
• Partner with the Spear Trustees and assist in implementing their funding strategy by helping to build corporate and donor relationships. For example, by hosting prospective donors in the Training Room

• Support group and 1-1 coaching with numerous 16-24-year-olds: equipping them with practical work-ready skills and resilient mindsets 
• Provide guidance to the Lead Coach in the training room when dealing with behavioural and safeguarding situations and upskill coaches with consistent coaching feedback
• Use a coaching approach to engage young people in challenging conversations that will enable them to take responsibility and over significant barriers to employment

• Liaise with relevant staff regarding site operations and work to resolve any issues as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies

We are seeking a faith filled, people focussed senior leader offering operational management for Christ our Hope Liverpool which includes

· Oversight of our Support Services Hub, small staff team and their spheres of work
