Job description

Are you an empathetic leader with IAA Level 2 Asylum and Protection and Immigration accreditation, dedicated to empowering young refugees as they rebuild their lives in the UK? Join our passionate team in Streatham Hill to lead frontline delivery caseworkers, supervise complex casework, and champion holistic support for young unaccompanied asylum seeking youth and refugees from the Horn of Africa (aged 14-25).

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and values-driven Casework Manager (£41,400) to lead our dedicated frontline team in Streatham Hill, with hybrid working available. In this pivotal role, you will balance technical casework supervision with compassionate people management—ensuring young asylum seekers and refugees receive high-quality advocacy, advice, and trauma-informed support.

As our Casework Manager, you will manage workload allocation across caseworkers, and maintain rigorous standards across all casework. You will also provide line management, support staff development, and track outcome data to compile clear reports for funders and management. You will take an active role in advocacy and campaigning work to drive policy change in line with DYP’s constitution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Supervision & Casework: Lead and safely oversee complex legal and advocacy casework, ensuring service delivery aligns with active OISC Level 2 requirements.

  • Team Leadership & Development: Provide high-quality line management, regular casework supervision, and professional development support to a team of dedicated caseworkers.

  • Service Quality & Compliance: Monitor workload capacity, ensure data accuracy on CRM databases (e.g., Salesforce), and uphold strict data protection and confidentiality standards.

  • Safeguarding: Maintain robust child and young adult safeguarding protocols across all activities up to the age of 25.

  • Reporting: Compile impact and activity reports for internal management, trustees, and funders.

What We Are Looking For

  • Active IAA Level 2 Accreditation in Asylum and Protection and Immigration.

  • At least two years’ proven experience delivering casework, advice, and advocacy to vulnerable young refugees or asylum seekers.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage team workloads, track outcomes, and handle operational HR procedures with support from DYP management.

  • Deep knowledge of UK immigration policy, social care systems, and the specific challenges faced by unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and young adults.

  • Excellent communication skills, high empathy, and a strong commitment to maintaining healthy professional boundaries.

Why Join Us? In return, we offer a supportive, collaborative environment where your expertise directly shapes the lives of young people settling in the UK. We offer £41,400 per annum and dedicated support for your ongoing professional development.
