This is an exciting opportunity to join a charity at the very start and to make a difference in shaping how we move forward.
Who are we looking for?
At present we are working towards being fully operational, over the next year Living Reasons will be looking to expand its reach and part of that journey is to support people who have neurodevelopmental conditions, learning difficulties and/or disabilities through legal processes if they have faced discrimination. To do this, the organisation needs to remain knowledgeable in this area.
Living Reasons will not be giving legal advice, but will be supportive during the early stages of potential legal proceedings, which means we need an understanding of what is and is not permissible under UK law to ensure that we can help each person effectively while also not diminishing any future legal case, in fact we will be doing all we can to help build evidence in case this needs to happen in the future.
In the role of Discrimination Law Co-ordinator, you will ensure that all disputes and complaints that Living Reasons support someone are consistently meeting these requirements. This will be through templates and guideline creation and will also, at times mean going over individual cases whether this is not clear to the person engaging with the person that has the dispute.
We are not looking for a lawyer specifically, we understand that many people understand the law and may not have been able to engage with the education system to gain a degree for example or are currently in the process of learning law. We are looking for someone who is able to analyse the information in front of them and make the connections to legal precedents and back that up with case law or clear legal reasoning.
What is the plan?
The person who is starting the charity up is autistic, has ADHD, CPTSD and also multiple physical conditions that effect daily life and is part of the LGBTQ+ community and has faced a lot of issues in life because of these things.
Living Reasons is being created to fix what we think is a challenging situation that is getting harder to achieve every week, month and year in the current economic, political, environmental and societal landscape. It is not easily defined but we hope the charity objects below will help put context to what we want to achieve, what we can say is that below are the issues we are trying to address, how we do this will change as quickly as society does, but the issues we want to tackle are these:

We stand alongside families so that parents do not feel alone in the critical task of raising children and support them to help children reach their full potential, have access to positive opportunities and enjoy childhood! We are recruiting volunteers to help us support families with young children facing challenges with parenting, helping to prevent family crisis or breakdown.
Providing practical and emotional support to local families with children under the age of 12 years, volunteers are matched with a family, visiting or keeping in touch by telephone weekly, offering tailored support which suit their needs. This is an in person role, where volunteers visit families in thier own homes and out in the local community.
Our Family Support Volunteers:
- offer support, friendship and practical help to local parents and children
- visit families in their own homes, where the dignity and identity of each individual can be respected and protected
- reassure families that difficulties in bringing up children are not unusual
- emphasize the positive aspects of family life
- encourage parents’ strengths and emotional well-being for the ultimate benefit of their own children
- encourage families to widen their network of relationships and to use effectively the support and services available in the community
- attend an initial course of preparation, one day a week for 5 weeks
- visit families for a minimum of 2-3 hours per week according to the family’s needs
- receive regular support and supervision from the Family Services Co-ordinator
- be able to make a commitment to the scheme for at least 6 months.
It is important that Family Support Volunteers:
- complete Safeguarding Level 1 training
- be familiar with and committed to the Home-Start ethos and policies and practice
- share information with the Family Services Co-ordinator and contact the Family Services Co-ordinator immediately if there is concern about the physical or emotional well-being of any member of the family
- take part in reviews with the family and Family Services Co-ordinator as requested
- keep records of visits to families as requested by the Family Services Co-ordinator
- attend support, supervision and training sessions as arranged by the scheme
- have good communication skills with Home-Start staff and families.
- have a friendly disposition and be open, honest and non-judgemental .
- have a DBS check and 2 references returned before supporting families in their own homes or group settings

About this key role

Outline of service
Our new Young Carers’ Connect project is designed to support the wellbeing of Young Carers’ in Wandsworth. The aim of the service is to reduce isolation, promote wellbeing, connect young people and provide opportunities for fun and respite.
Wandsworth Carers’ Centre supports individuals who are looking after someone who has an illness or disability. By volunteering with us you can help look after the health and wellbeing of Carers and provide them with the opportunity to take a break from their responsibilities and have time out for themselves.
Outline of Role
As a Young Carers’ volunteer, you will have the opportunity to support in a wide range of exciting and dynamic activities such as peer support groups, workshops, events, activities and trips.

We are looking for someone keen to move into the area of advising small charities on management and governance issues and assessing their needs in these areas.
We are a very ambitious local grant-making charity that also offers various training, support and consultancy services to small charities and community groups in Ealing & Hounslow. Our broad-ranging plans are now beginning to bear fruit and so we need someone to help us in the following areas as demand for our services begins to grow:
- Supporting small groups and start-ups with basic governance and management issues

Our ideal candidate would have a good all-round management or professional background gained over a number of years, but need not be experienced in the areas mentioned above. You'd be given full training, with the opportunity to shadow the people already working in these areas. Far more important is adaptability, initiative, an ability to get on well with people from all sorts of backgrounds, and good organisational and writing skills. Most crucially you would have a demonstrable commitment to our ideals of promoting a strong and influential civil society in West London. The role would probably require an average of 1 day a week and would involve dealing with our clients during office hours, so you will probably be someone who is working part-time, or is perhaps retired or semi-retired, or is otherwise not in full-time employment.
Much of the work would be taking place from home, but it will also involve quite a lot of face to face contact with clients, so living in the Ealing and Hounslow area would be a definite advantage.

Every Future Foundation (EFF) is an anti-racist education charity working to eradicate institutional racism within UK schools. Through programmes like Champions for Change, teacher training, and the Activism Academy, we empower students, educators, and leaders to challenge racism and build equitable school environments.
As we scale our impact and pursue systemic change through policy reform under our 3-Year Strategic Plan (2024-2027), we are seeking a Trustee with lobbying and parliamentary expertise to join our Board.
Role Purpose
The Trustee will play a key role in supporting EFF’s advocacy work to influence national education policies, build strategic relationships with policymakers, and ensure anti-racism becomes a priority within the UK education system.
Key Responsibilities
1. Governance and Strategic Oversight
· Provide strategic guidance to EFF’s Board and Senior Leadership Team on policy, lobbying, and parliamentary engagement.
· Support the organisation’s Racial Equity in Education objectives, ensuring alignment with our 3-Year Strategic Plan and influencing priorities.
· Champion EFF’s mission to eliminate institutional racism, bringing experience of navigating political systems and parliamentary processes to achieve meaningful policy change.
2. Policy and Advocacy Support
· Advise on EFF’s lobbying strategy, helping the organisation engage effectively with policymakers, parliamentary committees, and government bodies.
· Guide EFF in building and maintaining relationships with:
o MPs, All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs), and policy influencers.
o Local authorities, councils, and education committees.
· Support the organisation’s advocacy campaigns, such as its work with Citizens UK and the Racial Equity in Education Action Group, to influence systemic reforms.
· Assist in drafting and reviewing policy recommendations, briefing papers, and parliamentary submissions.
3. Advocacy and Ambassadorship
· Act as an ambassador for EFF, promoting our work and mission in parliamentary and policy spaces.
· Support the CEO and Senior Leadership Team in meetings with government representatives and key stakeholders to articulate our case for systemic change.
· Represent EFF at relevant parliamentary events, public forums, and coalition-building opportunities.
4. Board Contribution
· Bring knowledge of parliamentary processes and political systems to Board discussions, ensuring decisions are informed by an understanding of policy landscapes.
· Offer challenge, support, and oversight on advocacy activities and progress towards policy goals.
Person Specification
Essential
· Parliamentary and Lobbying Expertise: Experience engaging with UK parliamentary processes, policymakers, government bodies, or advocacy campaigns.
· Strategic Influence: Ability to advise on lobbying strategies to achieve policy reform and systemic change.
· Networks and Relationships: Strong connections within political, parliamentary, and public-sector spaces, with an understanding of how to leverage relationships for advocacy.
· Commitment to Anti-Racism: Passion for racial justice and education equity, aligned with EFF’s mission and values.
· Strong Communication Skills: Ability to represent EFF effectively with political stakeholders, offering clear, persuasive, and strategic advocacy.
Desirable
· Experience working with organisations driving education reform, racial justice, or systemic change.
· Understanding of APPGs, parliamentary committees, and public affairs best practices.
· Policy-writing or public affairs expertise in areas such as education, equality, and inclusion.
Commitment
· Term: 3 years (renewable).
· Time commitment: Approximately 4-6 hours per month, including attendance at 4 Trustee Board meetings per year (a mix of in-person and virtual).
· Occasional participation in parliamentary events, advocacy meetings, and policy-related activities.

We are looking for a new Honorary Treasurer for the BPA.
This is a good opportunity for someone who wishes to be part of the financial decision-making process of the BPA and to learn how the organisational side of the BPA functions.
The Hon. Treasurer works closely with the Finance Committee, the Board, the Executive and the General Manager. There is a strong financial team at the BPA. Ideally we are looking for an organized, strategic thinker comfortable with financial planning/budgeting with good teamwork and communication skills
· Currently the finance committee is keeping things going on a month to month basis; however, the Treasurer should be the focal point on the Board to articulate the strategic financial direction of the Society with input based on the priorities of the Society as communicated by the Board. The Treasurer should also represent the Financial Strategy as agreed by the Board to all members of the Society. The Treasurer is supported by the Finance committee.
· Attend Board meetings (3rd Monday of each month – 10 months a year)
· Attend Finance Committee Meetings termly (3 times a year)
