At Lewisham Refugee and Migrant Network we’re looking for someone to join us as our Senior Legal Aid Advisor. We will always stand by people standing up to an unjust immigration system. We provide a safe haven for people to rebuild their lives and our Senior Legal Aid Advisor role is a key part of that. Sitting in the immigration team, you will work on our Legal Aid contract alongside a team of Immigration Advisors working on a mix of grant funded projects for migrants unable to afford private representation. You will work within a supportive environment, reporting to our Immigration Manager, and be able to develop your areas of expertise. We’re a small and colaborative team so you will have the opportunity to work closely with other members of the organisation. 

Main Roles
Manage a full caseload of complex immigration matters funded by legal aid, including
asylum, human rights, and deportation cases.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations (IAAS, SRA, LAA).
Complete funding applications, manage provider submissions, track time, prepare
and submit legal aid bills and ensure compliance with LAA obligations.
Provide ad hoc supervision, mentoring or training to members of the immigration
team working on related immigration matters.

Specific Duties
1.Manage a full caseload of complex immigration matters funded by legal aid,
including asylum, human rights, and deportation cases.
a.Manage a complex caseload across the field of immigration, nationality and
asylum law.
b.Prepare, draft and file appeals to the First-tier and Upper Tribunals and conduct
appeals hearings as required.
c.Own legal aid processes for each case: complete funding applications, provider
submissions, billing, time recording and compliance with funder requirements.
d.Provide expert legal advice and represent clients in hearings; instruct counsel
when necessary and manage counsel budgets.
e.Interview and advise clients regarding immigration and asylum law procedure, and
practice in a sensitive and professional manner.
f.To maintain accurate and detailed case records of clients for the purpose of
continuity of casework, information retrieval and statistical monitoring, using
Advice Pro as appropriate and as required by management.
g.Advocate on behalf of clients by telephone, letter and email with appropriate
agencies.

2. Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations (IAAS, SRA, LAA).
a.Maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in line with IAA, IAAS
registration or similar professional body, e.g. SRA
b.Keep up to date at all times with changes in the law by reading and attending
training events relating to asylum and immigration.
c.Adhere to casework procedures as outlined in LRMN’s policies, the IAA, SRA,
IAAS, SQM and AQS.
d.To maintain accurate and detailed case records of clients for the purpose of
continuity of casework, information retrieval and statistical monitoring, using
manual or/and computerised systems (Advicepro) as appropriate and as required
by management.
e.Produce reports to meet funder’s and LRMN requirements.
f.Work closely with the Immigration Manager and/or external evaluator in gathering
data and information to produce accurate monitoring and evaluation reports.
g.To assist LRMN in liaising with its funders and to provide statistical information
and updates as required.

3. Complete funding applications, manage provider submissions, track time, prepare and
submit legal aid bills and ensure compliance with LAA obligations.
a.Complete initial funding applications and any subsequent variations or
exceptional funding requests; gather and upload supporting evidence; ensure
eligibility and means assessments are correctly recorded.
b.Submit and monitor claims through the LAA portal (or other relevant portals),
respond to queries or requests for further information, and liaise with LAA
caseworkers or contract managers as required.
c.Draft detailed bills in the required format, check calculation of fees and
disbursements, obtain necessary approvals, and submit within contractual
deadlines.
d.Maintain documentary proof to satisfy LAA audit requirements (attendance
notes, advice records, evidence of means), respond to audit enquiries, and
implement remedial actions where required.

4. Provide ad hoc supervision, mentoring or training to members of the immigration team
working on related immigration matters.
a.Maintain close liaison with the Immigration Manager to ensure a unified approach
to leading and developing the team.
b.Provide occasional mentoring or supervision to individuals working on legal aid
cases.
c.Provide occasional training to individuals working on legal aid cases.

5. Other Duties
a.To participate in LRMN staff meetings, maintaining a high level of professionalism
and contributing skills and knowledge towards best practice for the organisation.
b.To attend supervision and appraisal meetings and other relevant activities.
c.To be able to perform your own administrative duties.
d.Work flexibly as agreed to meet the demands of the service – this may involve
occasional evening, weekend and outreach work.
e.Maintain confidentiality in all matters relating to the work of the organisation.
f.Comply with LRMN’s policies and procedures.
g.Adhere to LRMN’s vision and mission and positively promote its work.
h.Undertake any other work as may be reasonably requested.

The newly created Advice & Support Team plays a critical role in delivering Battersea’s strategic focus on early intervention in the pet ownership journey. By offering well-timed expert and empathetic support and advice before owners reach crisis point, the team aims to prevent avoidable animal welfare issues and reduce the number of pets relinquished for preventable reasons.

This role will be pivotal in bringing Battersea’s ambitious Advice & Support strategy to life. It will involve leading and developing innovative, partner-oriented projects that provide practical solutions - from helping prospective owners make informed acquisition decisions to supporting struggling cat and dog owners when they need it most.

Success will require working cross-functionally within Battersea while also building and managing strong, ongoing relationships with external partners at a senior level both inside and outside the animal welfare sector. This is one of two District Property Secretary roles in North West England Methodist District, who will be the first point of contact on all matters relating to property. Using their knowledge of land and buildings, and their use and maintenance, in addition to knowledge of governance in the Methodist church context, the postholders will ensure a coherent and holistic approach to property across the District. 

Key Responsibilities 

Provide advice to churches and circuits on property-related matters

Work with colleagues, including ministers and lay members of the circuits and churches within the District, to maximise utilisation of property and land across the District for mission and income generation, in line with Connexional property strategy

- Support with selling properties

- Collaborate with colleagues on seeking alternative opportunities for mission or income generation

- Provide guidance on potential grant opportunities

Provide support with the instruction of professional advisors and contractors and liaise with surveyors as necessary

Provide advice and support to ensure projects are delivered effectively and in compliance with relevant standards and legislation

Support the management of the consents process

- Advise the consent giving body of the District regarding property projects and the feasibility of District grants

- Provide support on the use of the online consents system

This is a fixed term maternity cover role (anticipating approx. 9 months) supporting ASAP’s duty representation scheme at the Asylum Support Tribunal (AST) – one of our three key strands of work.

Working within our duty scheme team, you will assist our Acting Duty Scheme Co-ordinator and Duty Scheme Support Officer with key operational tasks, ensuring that the scheme is offering a quality service to appellants and referrers and that our duty scheme advocates (volunteer solicitors and barristers) are supported to provide high quality legal representation and advice.

After induction and training, you will give one-off guidance and support to people within the asylum support system who self-refer to ASAP, and to referring advice agencies, about the asylum support appeals process. You will also assist with decisions about which cases we represent. As with all team members, you will feed into our wider work on training, asylum support policy and strategic litigation – primarily by ensuring that colleagues are kept up to date with issues arising out of appeals at the Tribunal.

We’re looking for someone passionate about helping people seeking asylum in the UK access justice. You should be well-organised, a good team player, and have a solid understanding of the asylum support system—ideally from directly advising people who use it. About the Role

As our Director of Finance and Resources, you’ll be a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, leading on:

• Strategic financial planning and advice for future growth and sustainability of the Charity
• Operational Financial Management, Reporting and Performance 
• Financial Accounts and Annual Reports
• Financial Control, Governance, Audit, and Compliance
• IT, Facilities, and Information Governance
• Management of teams and contracts in the Finance and Resources Directorate

You’ll work closely with the CEO and Board of Trustees to support our strategic vision and ensure sound financial stewardship to deliver support for survivors now and into the future.  The position is offered on a flexible, hybrid and part time basis. 

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Professionally qualified (or equivalent) in finance management and accountancy
• Experienced and deeply knowledgeable in senior financial leadership and strategy development in the voluntary sector/an equivalent size charity 
• A skilled and experienced leader and manager of people, contracts and major service change projects
• Collaborative, analytical, and proactive in problem-solving
• Committed to feminist principles and to equity, diversity, and inclusion
• Ideally also skilled in overseeing IT, building and premises management and information governance, with training and support available where required. 

As well as experienced Directors, this role would also suit an exceptional Head of Finance looking to step up into their first Director role.

Asylum Aid is seeking a solicitor and IAAS-accredited senior caseworker to join its Public Law team, with experience in immigration legal aid, judicial review, and asylum and human rights law. The role involves managing a complex caseload of asylum, trafficking, human rights, and public law claims, providing high-quality legal advice and representation, and conducting judicial review challenges in the Administrative Court and Upper Tribunal. The successful candidate will work closely with the Public Law Supervisor and the Director of Legal Casework to ensure that individual cases are handled effectively while also identifying systemic issues suitable for strategic litigation to achieve broader impact.

In addition to casework, the postholder will contribute to the strategic development of Asylum Aid’s public law work by supervising junior staff, providing training on judicial review procedures, and collaborating with colleagues on internal strategy discussions. They will also engage with external stakeholders and other sector organisations to represent Asylum Aid, contribute to policy discussions, and develop initiatives aimed at increasing the effectiveness of public law challenges. The role requires experience of managing legal aid cases, using case management systems, and complying with regulatory requirements, including applying for and extending legal aid certificates and submitting claims for payment.

The position requires resilience, empathy, and strong organisational skills, as it involves working with vulnerable clients and exposure to distressing material. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of self-care principles and the ability to support colleagues in maintaining wellbeing in an intense working environment. To lead and deliver Richmond CVS’s support services for voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations across the borough. This includes providing high-quality advice, training, and development support, alongside managing key projects and coordinating external consultants.

The role is central to strengthening the VCSE sector, with a focus on organisational development, fundraising, and governance. It also involves working closely with statutory partners including Richmond Council and the South West London Integrated Care Board (ICB), ensuring that VCSE organisations are well-positioned to engage with and influence local systems.

The postholder will also lead the design and delivery of new initiatives, including externally funded programmes, and will have the opportunity to shape and evolve the role in response to emerging needs.

Key Responsibilities

Service Delivery & Development

Provide tailored advice and support to VCSE organisations on governance, fundraising, income generation, and strategic planning.

Lead the development and delivery of training programmes, workshops, and resources.

Support organisations to strengthen their legal structures, policies, and compliance.

Promote inclusive and accessible service delivery.

Leadership & Strategy

Provide strategic leadership for RCVS’s capacity building and project work.

Contribute to organisational strategy and planning.

Represent RCVS at external meetings, networks, and partnerships, including with statutory bodies.

Project & Programme Management

Manage capacity building projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to agreed outcomes.

Monitor and evaluate project impact, producing reports for funders and stakeholders.

Lead the development and delivery of consultancy projects, including scoping, contracting, and oversight.

Manage relationships with external consultants to ensure quality and consistency.

Line Management

Lead and support a small team, coordinating workplans and fostering collaboration.

Support staff development and performance

Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement

Build and maintain relationships with local partners including Richmond Council, South West London ICB, local and national funders, and other infrastructure bodies.

Facilitate networking and collaboration across the VCSE sector.

Act as a key point of contact for external engagement and partnership development.

Encourage digital innovation through partnerships and shared learning.

Operational & Financial Oversight

Contribute to budget planning and financial monitoring for capacity building and project work.

Lead on income generation for RCVS’s development work, including identifying funding opportunities, contributing to bids and contracts, and managing funded programmes.

Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures, including safeguarding, data protection, and health & safety.

This role provides expert, strategic advice to BSPD on national policy and system-level issues affecting children’s oral health. The Special Advisor will support the Executive and Council through horizon scanning, policy analysis, and strategic guidance on relationships with government, NHS England, and other external stakeholders.

This is a non-trustee, non-media-facing advisory position, working behind the scenes to inform BSPD’s policy priorities and strengthen its evidence-based advocacy.
