The Access Foundation is focused on making a real difference to people’s lives by awarding grants to charities which make a valuable and measurable positive impact.  Our grant giving objectives fall into three categories: 

1. to mitigate the digital divide by making computing facilities, support and learning available to disadvantaged and vulnerable people

1. to advance the charitable causes of the registered charities which are chosen as the "Access Group Company Charities of the Year"

1. to advance the charitable causes of charities for whom there is a strong emotional connection with a member of staff (e.g. through support they or a close relative have received from the charity) 

The Foundation aims to achieve this via a fund from which it awards grants to other charitable organisations aligned with the principles above. You are a key member or the team that works towards our target to award grants to a total value of +/- £2 million each year.

The Access Foundation was set up in 2021 following the success and growth enjoyed by The Access Group over the previous decade. While affiliated with The Access Group in terms of its identity, The Access Foundation is a separate organisation, governed by an independent board of trustees and with its own objectives and goals. 

The Access Foundation wants to fund projects and activities that make a real difference to people’s lives in the countries the Access group is active.To achieve our objectives, we are looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to help run and improve our operational processes.

Job objectives 

• Support the trustees in the due diligence and evaluation of each applicant and facilitate the decision-making process for each application 

• Support the ongoing evaluation process of all successful applicants and ensure agreed measures and outcomes are reported back to the Foundation in a timely manner 

• Manage the external communication of the Foundation’s successes back to stakeholders and supporters, as well as other channels on social media, such as Instagram and LinkedIn 

• Manage the communication with the Access Group and maintain an open channel of communication with the charities team at the Access group 

• Manage the Admin and Grants Assistant and ensure all Admin processes as well as operational processes are running smoothly and make changes where required 

• Manage the use of the accounting package Access Financials to ensure processes are followed and grantees paid on time.

• Oversee the data collation for and write the impact report 

• Collaborate and work with the trustees and volunteers 

Duties and responsibilities will include 

• Write regular reports to the trustees of new applications, applications in progress and outcomes, inform and advise the trustees to achieve a swift decision on all cases 

• Organise the publicity and communications around each successful grant, including newsfeeds, social media and website updates. 

• Liase with the Access Marketing team to support their own comms 

• Ensure financial accounts are accurate and complete 

• Liase with 3rd parties such as external suppliers and partners ranging from auditors to our financial partners 

• Draft Offer letters for the successful applicants 

• Recruit, Manage and Appraise the Admin and Grant Assistant

• Attend trustees, volunteers and applications meetings 

• Manage the access controls for volunteers and staff 

• Oversee the financial accounts, approve invoices on our bespoke Finance system and deal with some financial accounting together with our Chair of the board of trustees 

Skills and Experience Required 

• Organised, efficient and reliable with the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneous 

• A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role 

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels from junior to CEO 

• Computer literate with good knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook. 

• The ability to be an ambassador for the Foundation to all external parties and stakeholders 

• Strong verbal and written communication skills 

• Ability to travel to London as required (minimum once every 6 weeks) 

• Sympathy for grassroot charities 

• Experience of the charity sector 

Tommy’s believes that pregnancy complications and baby loss should not be seen as ‘bad luck’. Through their four research centres, specialist antenatal care clinics, pregnancy information services and campaigning work, they support people who refuse to accept that a baby’s death is ‘just one of those things’.

The Partnerships Manager will manage a portfolio of commercial and fundraising accounts totalling c.£250k, as well as some new business development. The portfolio includes a £60k per annum CRM relationship with Plum & Ashby, focused around the Wave of Light candle campaign for Baby Loss Awareness week, with lots of influencer and comms engagement. The new business element will support the Senior Partnerships Manager and the Head of Corporate in their new strategy for increased brand, strategic and coty partnerships.

Key responsibilities:

• Account manage and build strong relationships with corporate partners at a 5-figure+ level
• Create and deliver high quality account management and stewardship plans for your accounts
• Build strong relationships with all key stakeholders internally and externally
• Take a proactive role in developing and nurturing a pipeline of new opportunities

Essential criteria:

• Experience of fundraising in a charity setting – ideally in corporate partnerships, although we’d also be open to transferable skills from trusts, major donors or community fundraising
• Successfully managing funder relationships at a 5-figure+ level
• Experience owning and delivering upon a fundraising target and KPIs
• Takes initiative, results driven, proactive, empathetic and collaborative qualities

Senior Legacy and In Memory Fundraising Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Sue Ryder for a Senior Legacy and In Memory Fundraising Manager to lead, manage and develop our Legacy and In Memory Strategies to deliver sustainable long-term income growth.

Reporting to the Head of High Value and Legacy Fundraising you will:

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the development, delivery and implementation of the Legacy Strategy to deliver sustainable long-term growth
• Lead the Legacy and In-Memory team to maximise Legacy & In-Memory income for Sue Ryder and ensure an excellent stewardship and supporter experience
• Be able to interpret and act on data insight and produce robust reports about legacy income and the legacy pipeline

The successful applicant will bring:

• Extensive Legacy & In Memory fundraising experience with a minimum of two years at manager level
• A track record of delivering innovation in generating income from Legacies
• Experience of planning, implementing and monitoring large budgets to agreed deadlines
• Experience of leading, inspiring and empowering colleagues to promote legacies and deliver excellent results
• Excellent communication skills – written and oral with the proven ability to communicate with persuasion and credibility
• Excellent Marketing skills to deliver growth from consumer marketing across multiple mediums including digital
• Experience of managing and motivating advertising/marketing agencies to deliver exceptional results
• The ability to analyse data and produce detailed reporting on campaigns and performance
• A thorough understanding of the Legacy Administration process and ILM standards

It is essential you are educated to degree level or have direct sector experience of Legacy Fundraising at manager level for a minimum of two years.

We are recruiting for a Fundraising Compliance Manager looking to make a difference in how we fundraise and support our fundraising charities: Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity, Evelina London Children’s Charity and Guy’s Cancer Charity.

The successful candidate will need to be a detail orientated, solution focused, project manager with expert knowledge in fundraising and data protection regulations. We are looking for someone to lead and maintain a culture of compliance across all elements of fundraising and supporter engagement in this stand alone role.

As our Fundraising Compliance Manager, you will be the focal point for compliance, providing guidance and advice to colleagues ensuring that we have sufficient controls and processes in place across all areas of fundraising. In addition, you will provide comprehensive front line and administrative support, to facilitate best practice across Fundraising/Charity regulation and the General Data Protection Regulation and help embed this in our ways of working. You will produce and deliver training and supporting documents to upskill staff and to ensure consistency across the team, as well as identifying areas for improvement and development. You will keep your knowledge up-to-date and will be confident in communicating with staff at all levels and with varying levels of understanding; in an engaging and accessible manner.

Excellent organisation and project management skills will be required to ensure that projects and the day-to-day delivery and reporting of compliance is on track.

Key Responsibilities

Overarching responsibilities

• To oversee and be the main port of call for all compliance, data protection and gift administration queries in respect of fundraising.
• To develop and maintain robust operational frameworks, processes, systems and governance structures for compliance and gift administration that instil confidence and assurance in our fundraising operations and our ability to fulfil our contractual obligations as data processors and controllers.
• To provide guidance to fundraising colleagues and other stakeholders on compliance and data protection queries.
• To develop and maintain a culture of compliance across the Foundation through developing and delivering training and producing guidelines and departmental policies.
• To conduct periodic reviews or audits (to include external suppliers) to ensure that compliance procedures are followed and fit for purpose.

Gift Administration and Implementation

• Support our fundraising colleagues to maximise their income and engage with supporters in a compliant way
• Triage and respond to gift administration and compliance queries and requests within defined service level times
• Produce and keep updated, relevant guidance, tools and resources for colleagues across the fundraising function
• Develop new strategies to provide the best support for our fundraisers and work to build new and lasting relationships with key stakeholders
• Advise senior stakeholders on the benefits and risks of our activities and advise on the best course of action
• Working with the legal team, develop and maintain the appropriate gift agreements and similar documents, supporter communications and online pages, and support fundraising colleagues and supporters to complete the appropriate paperwork ·
• Manage the Fundraising Support email address/enquiry channels
• Ensure policies around philanthropy and gift management are up to date and disseminated appropriately across the Foundation.

Fundraising compliance and data protection

• To evaluate and apply the Data Protection principles to variable and challenging scenarios, supporting colleagues to find solutions to their problems within the limits of the law.
• Ensuring we are aware of and reacting to any fundraising and data protection regulations changes. Regulations include GDPR/UK Data Protection Act 2021, Fundraising Regulator's Code of Fundraising Practice, Charity Commission guidelines, BACS, and PCI DSS Compliance. HMRC Gift aid guidelines.
• Recognise that a change in procedure or legislation external to the Foundation has implications and who needs to be notified of the changes.
• Produce and continually monitor our operational policies; modelling best practices against the Fundraising Regulator's Code of Fundraising Practice
• Responsible for reviewing all fundraising contracts and third-party agreements for data capture to ensure they are in line with all compliance regulations, ensuring our supporter data is adequately protected, any new fundraising processes and procedures are compliant, and fulfilling the operational commitments associated. Suggest and negotiate amendments, and if the necessary compliance clauses cannot be met then decline authorisation to work with that third party.
• Assess data risks and complete Data Protection Impact Assessments where required, being prepared to work with colleagues to pull together the relevant information and present to the data protection lead for sign off. ·

Leadership

• Where necessary, be prepared to make pragmatic decisions on where we should be focusing resources.
• To develop a programme of training and guidelines to cover complicated rules and processes in a concise and accessible manner. To identify and address where the knowledge gaps exist.
• Monitor workflows and procedures identifying and implementing new efficiencies to increase work output and reduce service delivery timeframes

Skills and Experience

Essential criteria

• Experience of working in a compliance or similar function
• Experience of working in fundraising or with fundraisers
• Project management experience, leading multi-faceted projects

• Experience of reviewing a variety of legal agreements, including gift agreements and similar documentation

As the Workplace Mental Health and Training Manager, I develop, deliver and manage mental health training and initiatives to support employers, employees and others, in creating mentally healthy workplaces and communities.

I create, and oversee the creation of, new and bespoke training, initiatives and contribute to the design, development and delivery of consultancy services, aligned with our other services.

I review our existing products and services for reliability, evidence-base, relevancy and effectiveness and apply or project-manage improvements.

Citizens Advice Merton and Lambeth (CAML) is the leading advice charity supporting individuals and families primarily across the London boroughs of Lambeth and Merton but also wider London.  We provide a range of information, support and advice services.  We also work to raise awareness and understanding of the challenging issues affecting our clients and communities.

Main duties and responsibilities

• As a member of service managers team, ensure client support team members are supported with the appropriate level of guidance and supervision

• Monitor the case records / telephone calls of designated staff and volunteers to meet quality standards and service level agreements

About the role

The Welfare Scheme Assessor will be a part of a small, but committed team with big ambitions that works cohesively and effectively together to get things done.

You’ll be an important and valued member of the team and, with the support of North Lincolnshire Citizens Advice, will be responsible for ensuring client focused outcomes are met in a pressurised environment.

You’ll be the first point of contact for residents applying for support from the welfare assistance scheme. You’ll offer applicants a holistic assessment designed to maximise household income, reduce expenditure and build greater financial wellbeing.

You’ll enable people to move as quickly as possible to problem resolution and to manage their essential needs so they are less likely to fall into debt and manage cost of living increases.

You’ll be responsible for making decisions on applications for financially based welfare support and will administer funds to households who would otherwise struggle to buy food or pay essential utility bills or meet other essential living costs.

You’ll enable people to take control of their financial wellbeing and signpost them to local statutory services and community groups that provide practical, social and emotional support.

Supported by existing project funding and a long-term grant from the Access to Justice Foundation, we’re looking for two people to join our Senior Management Team and help lead the next phase of our innovative and award-winning development work. The Head of Core Service and Head of Community Partnerships will work together to:

• Continue developing our approach to community engagement, helping reduce access barriers for people from the most marginalised communities.
• Embed changes to our core service that make it more accessible and responsive to those communities.

Both roles also have overall responsibility for a range of funded projects and services and, as leaders and managers, responsibility for:

Job Purpose: To develop and manage, to a high standard, Age UK Bromley & Greenwich’s Information and Advice Service. To be responsible for the effective delivery of the I&A Service which will be delivered through a range of channels, including face to face, telephone, email, digital, and other means, across the Bromley and Greenwich boroughs.

Key Responsibilities:

Line management and supervision

• Provide line management and supervision to advisers and support staff.
• Supervising team advice sessions and casework
• Manage the practicalities of the advice session and ensure adequate staffing and resources.
• Undertake monthly supervision with individual team members and annual appraisal.
• Ensure referrals are actioned and clients are supported in a timely manner.

Support learning and development

• Support the team to embrace continuous learning and development and provide timely feedback on cases reviewed.

Staff recruitment and development

Quality assurance and reporting

• Undertake Independent File Reviews ( IFR) and monitor the quality  to meet quality standards and service level agreements

• Ensure remedial and developmental issues are identified and acted on to develop individuals, improve the quality of advice, and ensure clients do not suffer detriment due to poor or inadequate advice.
• Keep technical knowledge up to date and provide technical support to advisers.
• Maintain a case load as demonstration of ongoing personal development and learning.
• Undertake advice work as required e.g. during staff absences.
• Provide statistical reports on outputs and outcomes as required by funders and management
• Review and implement outcome measures for the work of the I&A team, including an annual survey of clients.

Partnership working and development

• To manage networking/ liaison with other local key stakeholders and organisations and feed into wider local engagement and community development work.
• Develop effective partner relationships with referral agencies across  both boroughs, and to refer/ signpost cases to external agencies as appropriate.
• Represent the organisation at outreach and community events as required, continuing to raise the organisational profile and develop wider awareness of our services.
• Work with colleagues to develop marketing materials, give talks and presentations, identify outreach opportunities .
• Identify opportunities to develop and grow the wider information and advice service

IAG Delivery and line management

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. Purpose of the Project Manager role:   

As Project Manager, the successful candidate will play an integral role in working across the organisation to ensure that sound project management principles are being used in all aspects of our work. You will be responsible for delivering cross-cutting, significant and complex programmes and projects that underpin Women’s Aid’s strategy. 

You will support the Head of Strategic Programmes to effectively schedule and monitor the projects, programmes and core business activity across the organisation, in line with our key strategic goals.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Project Manager: 

• Full scale project management of key strategic projects across a project’s full life cycle, to deliver within scope, on time, on budget, and within quality commitments. This includes designing project models, allocating resources, scheduling, monitoring, stakeholder communications, reporting and budget management. 

• Assessing and recommending to the senior leadership team the viability and suitability of new proposed projects. 

• Continually ensuring project specific risks are identified, assessed and mitigated, and escalating to senior managers as appropriate.

• Monitoring and managing interdependencies between projects across the organisation, and ensuring that projects are delivered in line with Women’s Aid’s strategic objectives.

What we are looking for in our Project Manager: 

Essential: 

• Substantial (5+ years) proven experience in project planning and execution, monitoring and reporting, and achievement of objectives. 

• Experience managing large (£50k+) and complex (e.g. cross-cutting multiple teams/functions) budgets. 

• Ability to work at pace and deliver to deadlines, prioritising work depending on organisational need.

• Ability to interpret top-line briefs and turn these into practical action.

• Ability to identify and manage project-based risks and issues, identify key decision points and define options for decision-makers. 

• Ability to work on own initiative to meet objectives in a complex, changing environment 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation and presenting to a wide range of audiences 

• Knowledge of a variety of project management principles and frameworks.

As an EducationUSA manager, you will play a key role in designing and running informational services to help prospective students, teachers, advisors and parents navigate US university admissions for successful study in the USA. You'll be experienced in overseeing the cycle of continuous improvement of health information products (web pages, email journeys, apps) as well as ensuring products are designed and optimised for maximum reach and to drive behaviour change.

This is an exciting 2 day a week role to be part of the growing Newham District Foodbank and Ascension’s Advice Service. On 9th June 2021 Ascension’s foodbank officially became part of the Trussell Trust network. We were named Newham District Foodbank, because our plan is to expand to more than one distribution centre to ensure that people across the whole of Newham are well supported. As part of the strategy, we have already secured funding to have debt and benefit advisors supporting each new distribution centre.

In this role you will manage the poverty response work of Ascension Community Trust, including its foodbank. You will provide high level strategic work, including liaising with donors, referral partners and other local foodbanks and support new partners into Newham District Foodbank. Your role will include fundraising for and reporting on the work of Newham District Foodbank, including local partnership funding. You will be involved in the recruitment, management and development of staff and volunteers.
