Somebody goes missing in the UK every 90 seconds. Missing People exists to ease the heartache experienced by those missing someone, and to help people who are away from home find their way back to safety. Our vision is for every missing child, adult and family left behind to find help, hope and a safe way to reconnect. We are a non-judgemental, highly skilled team of staff and volunteers working for everyone who needs us. We provide free, confidential support, help and advice by phone, email, text and live chat.

The work of the charity includes helpline and intensive support services for young people who are running away, missing adults, and people whose loved ones are missing (“families”). The experiences of the people we support include: suicide and self-harm, mental health crisis, child sexual and criminal exploitation, traumatic grief (bereavement by suicide, homicide), discrimination. The frontline team support people in heart-breaking situations – the people we support often feel helpless and are living in limbo due to the ambiguous loss of their missing loved one.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL HAVE

Your role will be to provide clinical supervision to staff across the Services Team. It is essential for the frontline team to be able to maintain strong boundaries, have regular debriefing and the space to process the work they do and to reflect on how working with this trauma is impacting them, as well as to develop their practice. You will:

• Provide regular individual clinical supervision for frontline staff or Senior Coordinators / Team Leaders;
• Monitor attendance at supervision;
• Provide regular reports to the Services Leadership Team on engagement with supervision and any development needs identified;
• Facilitate 2-4 thematic group sessions per year for Services staff (reflective practice).

ABOUT YOU

You will have proven experience of:
• Providing clinical supervision to helpline staff and/or their team leaders;
• Transforming experience into learning;
• Working around the issues of suicide & self-harm, mental health crisis and discrimination;
• Working around the issues of child sexual and criminal exploitation and traumatic grief (bereavement by suicide, homicide);
• Implementing safeguarding procedures to safeguard children, young people or adults at risk of harm.

You must also have:
• Qualification in clinical supervision with a minimum of 2 years post qualification practice;
• BACP registration or accreditation (preferred) or UKCP registration;
• and be a qualified Counsellor.
• You must have the legal right to work in the UK. We are unable to provide sponsorship for this position.
• If you work remotely you must have a private and secure place you can work in the UK and internet access.

You’ll also help create and deliver well-being workshops for parent carers to empower, inform, and reduce their stress and help increase their confidence so they are able to access the benefits they are entitled to.  And you’ll work in partnership with money advice organisations across Wales, to set up referrals for parent carers to make sure they get all the financial support they need.

• Experience of working with and supporting families who have disabled children in Wales.
• Ability to support and mentor parent carers to develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence to make decisions that are right for their families.
• Experience in creating, facilitating, and delivering workshops

We are looking to recruit an Administrator to provide a welcoming environment to our residents and lead on the administration of systems that enables the Supported Accommodation services to operate effectively including housing management, referrals, financial management and health and safety.

This is an exciting role in our Supported Accommodation team that will be the first point of contact for the hostel and assist by inputting information on the client database to ensure that all staff have timely and accurate information about residents. You will also assist the Registered Manager in recording and reviewing documentation in relation to the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023 and our registration and regulation under OFSTED. In addition to this, you will work alongside our Support and Advocacy Practitioners to ensure that the residents feel safe, welcomed and encouraged to thrive.

Our team in Camden has an exciting new opportunity for a Women Specialist Advocate to join the WiSER project, based in Camden. You will join us on a fixed term basis until the end of March 2025 (with the possibility of extension subject to ongoing funding.)

The WiSER Project is a partnership of specialist charities working together to provide support and advocacy for women whose experiences of violence and abuse intersect with multiple and severe disadvantage. We work with women who are frequently excluded from mainstream services and/or find it hard to engage with support, which increases their vulnerability and risk. Our assertive outreach approach enables women to access support, increase their self-esteem, and make safe choices.

About the Women Specialist Advocate role:

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic Specialist Advocate to join our advocacy and support team in Camden, with a specific remit to reach and support women facing multiple disadvantage. You will work intensively with a small caseload of women as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating extensively with external agencies.

You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the intersection between severe and multiple disadvantage and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) and have a strong understanding of how this can make it difficult for women to engage with support. You will have worked with people experiencing various aspects of severe and multiple disadvantage: homelessness, substance use, mental health issues, insecure immigration status, prostitution, offending history and children taken in to care. Most importantly, you will be committed to improving services and life chances for women affected by VAWG who are experiencing severe and multiple disadvantage.

Please note: This service is run by women for women and is therefore restricted to women applicants under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.

About you:

• An excellent understanding of the issues faced by women survivors of VAWG, including a knowledge of options for and rights of women experiencing all forms of VAWG.
• The ability to take a resilient and assertive approach to reaching out to and building trust and positive relationships with women who are experiencing multiple disadvantage, and who may present as reluctant to engage and/or may be presenting in crisis.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of professionals (some of whom may have very different approaches to problem solving) through a multi-agency approach, and advocate to agencies on behalf of the Project and its service users.

Outward are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and committed Deputy Manager to join our Enfield learning disability services at Linwood Crescent to manage a service for 14 residents living in a supported living service which caters for older people with additional health needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our dedicated, caring and supportive staff team.  The aim of the service is to enable the people we support to enjoy a good quality of life maximising independence and skills progression where possible.

The Role

The deputy manager would support the manager with recruiting and managing the large staff team, creating a culture of positive behaviour support within a personalised environment, embedding quality standards, achieving and progressing good outcomes with the people we support. As well as managing the service safely within the regulations and standard required by CQC.

You will act as a role model in the delivery of active support you will promote and maintain person centred approaches and inclusive community links to achieve positive outcomes with the people we support from the frontline staff team.

Skills and Expertise

· To share our values of enabling, empowering and engaging and implement these

· A minimum of 1 years’ experience of providing support to people with learning disabilities/ autism and or complex needs and or behaviours of concern

· Have excellent communication skills and be able to build positive relationships with internal and external partners – staff, professionals, people we support, families

· Be confident in using your own initiative able to deputise for the Service Manager

· Have strong IT skills and able to manage own time and work under pressure

· Creativity, motivation and enthusiasm to bring new ideas into the service and to implement these to shape the service as part of continuous improvement

· QCF Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care, or equivalent or willingness to gain a qualification

· Experience of staff management and the ability to lead and develop a large team ensuring staff are appropriately trained

· Experience of carrying out needs assessments and creating support and risk management plans for people with complex needs

· The ability to deliver the service in accordance with an individual support plans, the service specification and CQC requirements

· A commitment to providing high quality, personalised active support

· Knowledge of managing a budget is desirable

Be Kind to Your Mind (BK2YM) is a non-clinical, mental health and wellbeing offer delivered by HFEH MIND Youth Services. BK2YM’s non-clinical interventions and psychoeducation programme (Learn Well) offers a multitiered level of support:

• Preventative and early intervention for children and young people aged 5 – 25 through HFEH Mind Psychoeducation Workshops and assemblies.
• Training for school staff and other professionals.
• Therapeutic Arts intervention (x6 sessions) for students.
• Access to a digital support tool (self-help): WYSA.
• Access to wider digital/online support tolls (Including My Mind TV).

Key Responsibilities

• Delivery of Be Kind to Your Mind interventions across schools, colleagues and alternative education.
• Delivering whole school/year group assemblies and ‘drop-down days’ to educational establishments within the defined area(s) of operation.

Bipolar UK is the only national charity dedicated to empowering individuals and families affected by bipolar. Peer support is at the core of our work. We empower approximately 1,000 people a month to stay well - and we have the ambition to reach thousands more.

Bipolar does not discriminate on the grounds of sex, gender, age, ethnicity, race or background, consequently it affects everyone, and we estimate that one million people in the UK live with the condition many of whom remain undiagnosed, that's 1 in 50.  The condition also increases the risk of suicide by 20 times.  Bipolar impacts on relationships, missed milestones for young people with their peers, education, economic stability and employment, and creates social and economic problems and debt for those affected through symptomatic overspending.  Therefore, Bipolar UK are working hard to improve diagnosis times and support pathways to enable individuals affected by the condition to live well and fulfil their potential. About the role:

Bipolar UK is delighted to have this post funded through a new grant and we are seeking to recruit a Senior Peer Support Officer to work 3-days per week.

We are looking for an experienced person who is familiar with peer support and lived experience models to support and engage members of our London community who are affected by bipolar from a range of backgrounds.

Your role will include managing volunteers, increasing engagement in local existing support groups and developing new ones.  Working with our self-management trainers to run psycho-education courses.  The role will require you to work across London both online via Teams and Zoom and in-person.

We are recruiting for an experienced Employment and Transition Mentor to work closely with Autistic/neurodivergent individuals aged 16 to 25 residing in the Bromley borough, to enable skills which will assist them in overcoming barriers to employment and achieving their vocational goals.

This role involves assessment, guidance, and advocacy to ensure that each student reaches their maximum potential. 

In partnership with the London Borough of Bromley, this new unique role has been developed as part of an exciting pilot project funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to support autistic/neurodivergent students to transition from school into further training or permanent paid employment. 

The successful candidate will provide training and workshops to participants and their support networks to enhance understanding and coping skills. In addition, the role will be required to provide training for other stakeholders (employers and other organisations) to raise awareness and ensure they understand the needs of the participants. 

Main Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of participants to help them take the steps they need to gain employment. This can include CV writing, interview practice, work experience, apprenticeships, college and/or other vocational courses, paid employment opportunities.
• Work closely with local employers and engage them in signing up to the Employability programme  
• Act as main liaison between participants and professionals working with the participant to ensure that reasonable adjustments are made to enable success
• Provide information and signposting & collaboration opportunities to participants.
• Work closely with participants to identify and address their employability and reasonable adjustment needs
• Provide emotional and practical support.
• Empower students and families to ensure their views inform decision making and support.
