Job Title - Welfare Rights & Tribunal Adviser

Salary- £29,000 per annum 

Hours37 hours per week (Full Time)

Location- Doncaster – office based, outreach locations, and tribunal attendance as required

Role Purpose

To provide specialist welfare rights advice, casework, and representation to clients, including preparation and attendance at welfare benefit tribunals. The postholder will support clients to maximise income, challenge incorrect benefit decisions, and access their full entitlements, in line with the aims, principles, and quality standards of the Citizens Advice service.

Key Responsibilities

Advice & Casework

• Provide specialist advice on welfare benefits including Universal Credit, PIP, ESA, DLA, and Housing Benefit.

• Prepare and submit mandatory reconsiderations and benefit appeals.

• Represent clients at First‑tier Social Security Tribunals where appropriate.

• Carry out detailed benefit checks and income maximisation.

• Act for clients where necessary by drafting appeal submissions, negotiating with the DWP and other agencies, and making referrals where appropriate.

• Empower clients to understand their rights and options and enable them to make informed decisions.

• Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive case records in line with Citizens Advice systems and procedures.

• Ensure all casework meets the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and internal quality requirements.

Outreach & Partnership Working

• Deliver advice services at outreach venues across Doncaster as required.

• Build and maintain effective working relationships with partner agencies, statutory bodies, and community organisations to ensure joined‑up support for clients.

Research & Campaigns

• Contribute to the Citizens Advice research and campaigns agenda by recording evidence of client issues and emerging trends.

• Provide anonymised case studies and data to support local and national policy work.

Professional Development & Quality

• Keep up to date with welfare benefits legislation, case law, and procedural changes.

• Attend supervision, training, and team meetings as required.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to share knowledge and support service delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference in local communities. In this role, you will work closely with colleagues in the Social Value Team, the Charities Liaison Team and wider Group functions, playing a key part in ensuring our initiatives continue to improve lives and places. About the role

The Employment Adviser provides specialist, client‑focused support to refugees and people seeking asylum within Doncaster’s Integrated Refugee & Asylum Services. Working under the direction of the Project Manager, the Adviser delivers employability interventions including assessments, workshops, and one‑to‑one guidance. They prepare clients for competitive employment, support progression into training, volunteering, and work placements, and help secure sustainable jobs.

The role manages a defined caseload, tailoring support plans to individual needs, and contributes to project outcomes by meeting agreed targets for client progression. The Adviser collaborates with employers, training providers, and community partners to create opportunities, while maintaining accurate records and reporting progress to the Project Manager.

We are looking for three new team members to join our team of Specialist Huntington's Disease Advisers to support people affected by Huntington’s disease.

The King’s Trust is looking for a passionate and experienced Safeguarding Advisor to join our national Safeguarding Team on a maternity cover basis. This is a vital role where your expertise will help protect and promote the safety and well-being of young people aged 11 to 30, with a particular focus on those aged 18 to 25. GMRC is a registered charity working with adult women who are victims and survivors of sexual violence and child sexual abuse, providing independent, specialist support and promoting and representing their rights and needs.

We are looking for a qualified Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) to join our friendly and committed team.

Your role will be to support women practically and emotionally as they go through the criminal justice system.

Overall Objectives

To work within a multi-agency setting to provide a proactive service to adult victims of sexual violence within and outside the criminal justice system to:

• Risk assess and maintain client safety
• Help clients access their rights
• Monitor and keep clients informed of case progress and provide support through the criminal justice system
• Help clients access health and other services they require
• Build ongoing relationships with loved ones of a victim/survivor engaged in the ISVA service
• Provide an information point for loved ones on the CJS

Applicants who are not yet ISVA‑qualified, but who have relevant experience working within the criminal justice system and/or sexual violence services will also be considered. In this case, the successful candidate would be supported to complete the ISVA qualification.

During the training year, the salary would be £28,000 per annum, reflecting the cost of training and supervision. On successful completion of the ISVA qualification, the salary would increase to £30,000 per annum.

The salary for a qualified ISVA would be £30,000 – £32,000, depending on experience.

About the role:

This role will work across Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent, but will be based in our Stafford office. Hybrid working is considered following our mandatory six month probationary period. Travel across the whole of Staffordshire will be required.

As an IDVA you will be asked to:

• Provide a pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic abuse through on-going risk assessment, individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse
• Promote the service and raise awareness of issues arising, minimising barriers and improving access to support

• Experience of multi agency working
