About the Role

As part of our People and Culture Team, you will play a key role in providing a comprehensive and first-class recruitment and onboarding service to the College and all prospective candidates. 

This includes, being the first point of contact for managers, candidates and new starters, working with hiring managers to ensure that they are equipped with the knowledge, skills and resources to attract and recruit the best talent for their teams and ensuring the College remains competitive and attractive in the external market.

Key tasks and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Act as the first point of contact for all recruitment queries and advice
• Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for all College vacancies
• Advise hiring managers on recruitment and selection processes from role release to offer, in line with the College’s Recruitment Policy, promoting EDI at all times
• Identify suitable job boards and platforms for advertising vacancies
• Manage the RCoA Careers page, ensuring it is engaging, up to date and fit for purpose
• Liaise with candidates (internal and external) and coordinate telephone, face-to-face and remote interviews and assessment days
• Manage the onboarding process, ensuring all pre‑employment checks are completed efficiently and in a timely manner

About You

You will have strong, in‑house recruitment experience, having managed the full end‑to‑end process from role release through to onboarding. You will also have strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels, and experience administering HRIS or Recruitment Management Systems.

You will be able to work independently and proactively within a small team, demonstrating excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and effective written and verbal communication. You will also have a sound understanding of HR legislation, policy and best practice, and be proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint / OneDrive.

Role

You will provide pro–active emotional, practical and advocacy support for male and non-binary survivors who have experienced any form of sexual violence and are engaging (or considering engaging) with the criminal justice system. 

Our ISVAs work with clients currently residing in any London borough, or if the abuse was committed in any London borough. Some travel to London will be expected.

An ISVA qualification or relevant degree is desirable, but not essential. We consider people from a wide range of educational backgrounds and work experience. What matters is that you are empathetic and will support the specific needs of our clients.

Role Overview

The Tower Project’s award-winning JET Service is seeking a passionate and skilled Disability Employment Adviser to help transform the employment prospects of adults and young people with learning disabilities and autism.

This is a varied community-facing role combining personalised employment support, employer partnership working and in-work coaching. You will manage a caseload of aproximatley 25 clients at different stages of their employment journey and work collaboratively with colleagues, employers and referral partners to create meaningful employment opportunities.

You will be supported by the Employment Support Team Lead and will play an important role in delivering positive, measurable outcomes for individuals across East London.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

IAG and Employment Support

You will act as the key adviser for a cohort of clients, delivering high-quality, person-centred employment support that leads to sustained paid outcomes.

You will:

• Build positive working relationships with referral partners including the Community Learning Disability Team, education providers and local support organisations.
• Complete vocational profiling, better-off calculations and personalised support plans focused on employment aspirations.
• Deliver one-to-one sessions to support CV development, interview preparation, confidence building and workplace readiness.
• Support clients to access appropriate training, qualifications and work experience opportunities aligned to their goals.
• Help clients identify and overcome barriers to employment through practical, solution-focused support.

Employer Partnerships and Job Matching

• Support the development of relationships with employers in a range of local sectors to support client progression.

• Deliver workplace coaching using structured approaches such as Training in Systematic Instruction (TSI), gradually reducing support as independence develops.

We are looking to employ a Housing and Welfare Benefits Advisor for Camden Disability Action's Social Welfare Advice services. You will have at least two years' experience providing welfare rights advice and housing casework and have up-to -date knowledge of welfare benefits and housing law, especially relating to Disabled adults.  Your role will be to identify potential income maximisation and provide the support needed to get benefits correctly assessed, and assisting with appeals as well as supporting Disabled people with housing support, including homelessness prevention measures.  You will work in a holistic way, managing and holding complex cases and advocating for clients across statutory services, specialist advice partners and community organisations.

You will be committed to learning more about the Social Model of Disability and you will share our vision for a radically inclusive world where people with differences are never disabled by the society in which they live.

The role is crucial for the development and delivery of evidence-driven British Academy policy programmes on communities and social policy, using SHAPE research to impact policy outcomes that support the Academy’s and the Policy Directorate’s strategy.

The role

The British Academy’s public policy programmes explore domestic policy challenges that SHAPE research (Social sciences, Humanities and the Arts for People and the Economy/Environment), which can help policymakers to understand, reframe and find solutions. We work closely with our Fellows, alongside a diverse community of academics, experts, practitioners and importantly, policymakers. Our approach is focused on drawing together insights from SHAPE research and convening key figures to understand how these can be applied to policymaking. You also need to be comfortable with bringing insights and analysis together and making new connections across policy themes to approach problems from a fresh perspective.

This means you will:

• Manage monthly payroll activities – inputs, checks, reports, approvals and secure file transfers.
• Be the go-to person for first level payroll-related advice for managers and staff.
• Work closely with our outsourced payroll provider and HRIS provider to make sure everything runs smoothly.
• Keep up to date with payroll and pension legislation, spotting risks and recommending solutions.
• Process payments, cost of living uplifts and annual increments accurately.
• Liaise with third-party providers (pensions, life, childcare vouchers, union subscriptions, cycle to work and more).
• Audit payroll data and work with HR colleagues to resolve gaps.
• Respond to queries about pay, pensions and benefits with clarity and care
• You’ll also contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement work – because payroll isn’t just about processing, it’s about making things better.

You will have:

You will already have experience working in a payroll environment, giving first-level payroll advice and managing payroll processes.

You’ll also bring:

• Experience using an HRIS (for example iTrent) and strong general IT/data skills
• Brilliant attention to detail – you’re fast, but you’re accurate
• Strong organisation and time management skills
• Confidence working both independently and collaboratively
• Clear, professional communication skills (written and verbal)
• A solid understanding of confidentiality and data protection

A CIPP Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience) would be great, but practical experience counts too.

This role builds on work that we have been doing for decades to support and empower LGBT people who have experienced sexual violence. Your work will enable LGBT people to feel supported, heard and empowered in the face of abuse and violence, and pave the way to a safer future for our community.
 
You will work directly with LGBT victims/survivors, offering them a space to talk and think through options, helping them plan what they want to do, and offering assistance in getting what they need from services. Your work will focus on needs specifically related experiences of sexual violence, including issues such as wellbeing, support with the criminal and civil justice process, safety and access to other services to enable survivors to cope and recover. You will be empathetic and thoughtful in your approach to understanding your clients’ needs, while remaining boundaried and mindful of self-care.
 
You will sit alongside our other advocates supporting LGBT people facing abuse or violence. You will work with mainstream services to ensure the voices and experiences of LGBT survivors are represented in order to make change for our community at a local and national level. You will also work closely with key partner organisations by attending meetings and have the opportunity to take part in external work to ensure a joined-up approach among services working with LGBT people facing abuse and violence.

You will be able to demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and a proactive approach in offering emotional and practical support, while ensuring a safe and empowering environment for those in need.
 
As a member of our helpline team, you will provide emotional support and practical guidance to individuals in need, responding to calls, emails, and web chats. You will support individuals who have experienced various forms of violence and abuse, including domestic violence, hate crimes, sexual violence, and so-called conversion therapies. Your role will involve offering a compassionate, non-judgmental, and empathetic ear to those reaching out for help, while carefully assessing each situation to determine the appropriate level of support. You will conduct risk assessments, provide safeguarding assistance, assist with safety planning, signposting, and, when necessary, support with referring individuals on to the right services, always ensuring the highest standards of care and support.
