UKGBC is seeking an experienced professional to deliver its membership strategy by engaging existing and attracting new members in order to achieve its mission to radically improve the sustainability of the UK built environment. This exciting role is industry-facing, closely working with over 500 UKGBC members spanning the entire built environment value chain, to ensure that they maximise the value of their membership, and to extend and strengthen existing relationships with them. Job Description
The purpose of the role is to develop and deliver a membership strategy which fulfils UKGBC’s Annual Operating Plan in terms of income and impact, and ensure that member engagement processes and outcomes are competitive and fit for purpose.
Principal Accountabilities
Member engagement
- Lead the implementation of the refreshed member engagement strategy to ensure that UKGBC is proactively engaging with its membership. Includes using membership KPIs and Salesforce data to identify priority members with whom to focus engagement.
- Be recognised by members as the main membership lead regarding their overall engagement with UKGBC and keep members up to date with specfic activities they could benefit from.
- Lead a regular review of membership value proposition including review of benefits, customised sectoral models and regularly updated membership collateral.
- Identify and actively promote opportunities within existing and prospective members for UKGBC revenue generation through bespoke solutions, events, program sponsorship and other funding opportunities.
- Facilitate UKGBC’s Member Advisory Group and other member forums, workshops and events as appropriate
- Undertake key account management duties for selected Gold Leaf members to ensure that they are deriving significant value from engaging with UKGBC.
- Lead the annual Member Impact Survey/ interview process to ensure that UKGBC obtains and acts upon relevant and timely member feedback on its activities.
- Lead the full exploitation of UKGBC's CRM system, Salesforce, to drive improved member engagement, ensuring UKGBC maintains more and better information on member businesses, such as number of individual contacts and location of regional offices
Member recruitment
- Continuously review UKGBC's membership model to ensure it works for existing and new parts of the property and construction sectors in order to accelerate the achievement of UKGBC’s mission.
- Lead the recruitment of new members with a view to growing UKGBC’s penetration across the entire property and construction value chain.
- Provide strategic input and practical support for membership recruitment in English regions and devolved countries. Includes providing support and tools to build capacity and confidence for local network coordinators..
- Represent UKGBC at conferences and events to raise our profile as widely as possible, promote our activities, and identify and convert new member prospects.
- Lead the full exploitation of UKGBC's CRM system, Salesforce, to drive member recruitment.
Business planning
- Capture, analyse and report on member feedback obtained through member engagement meetings, interviews and surveys to UKGBC’s senior leadership team alongside recommendations for improved engagement.
- Provide timely and practical input to UKGBC’s annual operating plan including during the creation of the business plan for the following year.

The Participation and Engagement Manager role is designed to build trust and strengthen the relationships with the young people in and out of prison, supporting them to engage with our work and express their views safely, in order to embed a culture of listening. ENGAGING YOUNG PEOPLE TO INFORM OUR ADVOCACY AND INFLUENCING ACTIVITY
- Lead our In-Prison Advisory Boards (IPABs), working in prisons and youth offending institutes and use the learning from the IPAB pilot and future evaluations to engage young people in prisons/YOIs.
- Set up and coordinate a group of young people in the community that have participated in our coaching programmes and/or have had contact with the criminal justice system (CJS), to be our ‘Champions’. Including developing an effective structure that will feed the views of the young people directly into our influencing priorities, so that our policy, advocacy and communications campaigns are initiated and/or co-designed by young people.
- Engage the young people in opportunities to publicly address, champion and advocate for: rehabilitation; culture change in prisons; the transformational power of coaching in prisons; challenging systemic racism, and other related areas.
- Collate the findings from the young people sensitively and thoroughly; analyse and present the results in an accessible format to funders, the team and Trustees and other stakeholders.
- In addition to influencing priorities, develop a framework that ensures the wider Spark Inside team can engage the young people in the development of our strategy, programmes and other charity objectives. This includes the CEO, Board of Trustees, and the Programmes Team.
ENSURING YOUNG PEOPLE ARE EQUIPPED AND EMPOWERED PARTICIPANTS
- Nurture and develop these young people including training and skill development.
- Work with the Communications Team to ensure young people’s ideas and experiences are reflected in the wider comms work, including our website, social media, events, policy positions and recommendations, imagery, video and marketing materials, designing and delivering all public-facing campaigns.
- Proactively gather views and ideas from young Black men, with a view to shining a light on their specific experiences of the CJS.
- Support and empower the IPAB members and ‘Champions’ to identify campaigning and media opportunities they would like to participate in; and support their involvement appropriately, ensuring that the young people are willing and happy participants at every stage.

- To develop and provide outreach to Eastern Europeans;
- To provide high quality independent advocacy and advice to victims of exploitation in the UK;
- And to develop networks and working relationships to facilitate outreach, referral, and advocacy.
The ideal candidate will have experience in supporting vulnerable users – as an advocate or advisor. Though not essential, experience with survivors of exploitation, trafficking, or modern slavery is desirable. Particular advice expertise – around welfare benefits, immigration, employment or other areas – is welcome.

We are recruiting for an experienced Policy Manager who will lead on developing the policy function and strategy for the RCOphth.
The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth) is the only professional body for medically qualified eye doctors, who specialise in the prevention, treatment and management of eye disease, including surgery to optimise eye care for all patients. We are the voice of the profession and champion excellence in the practice of ophthalmology. We do this through our collaborative work across the eye health sector and with regulatory healthcare bodies.
About you
You will need to show substantial experience in all areas from development of policies and impact assessments to high level stakeholder engagement and consultation. We are looking for someone with a positive, can do attitude and is committed to excellence and high standards in all they do.
You will need the following experience
- Extensive experience of leading on policy development, including the understanding of legislation and its impact
- Extensive high level stakeholder management that includes government, health bodies (eg NHS England), charity and research
- Experience of handling strategies and tactics for dealing with contentious or complex issues
- Experience of working across multiple departments and teams, particularly in a professional membership organisation
- Experience of line management
About the role
There are proposed legislative changes to the way healthcare will be delivered and the medical profession regulated. We want to ensure that ophthalmology is engaged with policy decision makers and proactively putting the case for better patient care and the sustainability of the workforce; promoting the RCOphth as the ‘go to’ authority on eye care services. We are doing this through key areas of collaborative work across health regulatory and arms-length bodies, but it requires a strong policy framework.
The Policy Manager will sit in the Policy & Communications team and work directly with the Executive (College Officers and Senior Management) to identify policy gaps and opportunities both in the short and long term. The post holder will work with key stakeholders to identify how the policy function will change the way we work and embed the new process throughout the organisation.

Position Overview
The fundraising and development manager will optimize and execute the organization’s fundraising activities, expanding our fundraising efforts and helping increase our organizational capacity. They will be responsible for a broad span of duties, including developing and executing a fundraising strategy, implementing a CRM database, and building relationships with donors (individuals and foundations). They will work closely with the president and the director of operations to pursue new grant opportunities, as well as with the head of communications and marketing to implement and optimize development opportunities in our external communications. This is a part-time, remote position with a flexible schedule, requiring a self-motivated individual who is able to work well both independently and with a remote team.

Key Responsibilities

The Person
- Previous experience of managing multi-dimensional programmes and simultaneous work streams
- Experience of working at a senior level to implement cultural and organisational changes
- Excellent strategic planning and change control skills
- Experience in developing and managing a geographically dispersed team of people across functions, including volunteers and staff
- Experience of delivering successful high value partnerships
- Experience of managing multi-annual budgets and managing relationships with funders
- Experience of managing risks, and delivering objectives within financial and other constraints
- Effective communication and diplomacy skills; ability to interact at all levels within the sector and organisation

The project manager will lead a new Ramblers project that aims to increase understanding of the social and environmental value of the path network. The postholder will:
- Scope and deliver a research study to identify the benefits, barriers to, and enablers of people using and enjoying the path network, working with an academic partner.
- Establish what a world-class network of paths and access land looks like in practice, engaging with Ramblers’ volunteers, stakeholders, and policymakers.
- Develop a new Ramblers vision for improving the path network and our role in delivering this.
The project is funded by the People’s Postcode Lottery (PPL). It is one of four projects delivered by the Ramblers as part of the PPL Postcode Climate Challenge, with an overarching ambition to connect more people to nature via walking.
