We’re looking for a Research Manager who combines exceptional ability in research and report-writing, with a real passion for (and experience in) peacebuilding. It will be vital that you have an excellent grasp of the context in the Central African region, which will require time spent there and, ideally, significant prior knowledge.
In the first months of the programme, the team will consult at least three thousand people, with a combination of key informant interviews, individual questionnaires and focus groups to build both quantitative and qualitative datasets.
This will add to a dataset of over ten thousand consultations over 6 years, so you’ll have a unique evidence base at your disposal. We believe that, with your expertise and support, we could make better use of the rich information in these datasets, and we feel we owe that to the women and men we’ve consulted. The reports you produce will help amplify their voices, providing decision-makers in government and the international community with clear recommendations for activities that will address root causes of conflict and promote sustainable peace and development.

AAUK are seeking an experienced CO-CEO Office Liaison and Internal Communications Lead. This role is responsible for running the office of the Co-CEOs, internal communication and engagement activities across ActionAid UK.  The role will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Co-CEO office enabling the Co-CEOs to effectively manage their workload and focus on strategic responsibilities in their dual roles as Co-CEOs and Directors. 

The post holder will lead on key Co-CEOs projects and deliverables in collaboration with relevant subject matter experts across the organisation. Develop the organisation’s internal communications and engagement strategy, in line with the overall People & Culture Strategy, policies and best practice. Lead and implement a programme of internal communications and engagement initiatives that ensures AAUK staff feel connected to and engaged with the mission and objectives of the organisation, and boosts staff engagement levels. Responsible for ensuring all comms and engagement activities are promoting our feminist principles, anti-racist and decol agenda and contributing to the overall staff experience and employee proposition as an employer of choice.

About the role

Working across Global Witness’s campaigns within a larger data team, you will support our larger data investigations.  Using a range of tools and techniques, including data storytelling, analysis, bots and webscraping, you will highlight the role of corporations in worsening the environmental and climate crises.

You will bring core data specialist skills, in particular in financial analysis, natural language processing, remote sensing and accessing and using open data.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

In the past five years of running our Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program, we have found that the best predictor of which incubated charities will end up causing the highest impact is the quality of the co-founding team. As we scale up, one of our biggest bottlenecks is identifying highly talented, value-aligned people out of the thousands of candidates from all over the world who apply to our programs. The difference in outcomes between a bad and a good hire can be huge, but this variation is even more extreme when it comes to co-founders. The initial staff of an organization set the pace, tone, and culture for the long-term. We estimate the impact of each average alumna/alumnus of our Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program to be equivalent to donating $200,000-350,000 USD / year to effective charities. Finding 20-30 of these gems each year is difficult but is incredibly impactful. As such, the Recruitment Manager is one of the most important roles we are hiring for. 

The Recruitment Manager will focus on:

• Vetting multi-stage application processes (application forms, test tasks, interviews and psychometrics)

• Improving and adjusting our processes (e.g. coming up with predictive interview questions for new job roles; improving existing questions and tasks on the basis of data collected)

• Developing and formalizing a deep understanding of what traits, motivations, and personality types will be successful in different kinds of career paths and roles

• (if interested and a strong fit) Working with our outreach team to develop and execute marketing strategies that speak to the right people, inform them about our supported career paths, and help them apply

• (if interested and a strong fit) Managing or co-managing the recruitment team

The kinds of tasks involved in this look something like this:

• Evaluating hundreds of application forms and test tasks to figure out which are the most promising, using a wide range of information, formal and informal clues, and heuristics

• Evaluating and conducting candidate interviews to help identify and select the most promising candidates to join our programs

• Formalizing informal hiring heuristics into rubrics and learning algorithms (no programming required)

• Project managing each application round to ensure each candidate gets useful, timely, and relevant test tasks and information on next steps

• Analyzing historical data to pull out findings for future rounds (here’s an older public example)

• Conducting interviews with successful applicants to create feedback loops for improving our processes

About IKWRO

IKWRO –Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is an award-winning charity founded (as the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation) in 2002. IKWRO is a registered charity which provides advice and support to Middle Eastern, North African and Afghan women and girls living in the UK, who have experienced, or are at risk of all forms of “honour” based abuse, including; forced marriage, child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM), or domestic abuse.

We work with women and girls of all ages, including lesbian women, bisexual women and trans women. We offer services in Kurdish, Farsi, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Turkish and English. IKWRO offers free advice, advocacy and counselling services and operates a refuge which provides safe accommodation and specialist support to single women at risk of “honour” based abuse, forced marriage and domestic abuse.

IKWRO also provides training for women and girls to help them understand their rights in the UK. In partnership with other organisations, we assist survivors of abuse with accessing English language classes and education, training and employment opportunities.

As well as supporting women and girls directly, we offer advice and training for professionals from the statutory and voluntary sectors, to better understand the needs of the women and girls we represent, the types of abuse they experience and to provide best practice prevention and support services.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

·Provide a service in line with BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) guidelines or equivalent.

·To support the management team with the strategic development of IKWRO’s counselling services. 

·The provision of effective and high-quality Counselling and Psychotherapy services to IKWRO’s clients through making use of up to date service standards and IKWRO’s Counselling Guidelines.

We have an exciting opportunity here at Barnardo's for experienced, enthusiastic and assertive Family Support Workers to join a brand-new team who will deliver the In Reach Hospital Emergency Department Family Support Programme.

The role is full time , 37 hours per week, permanent fixed term funded until March 2025 and will be based at the North Middlesex University Hospital, The entrance to the A&E department is in Bridport Road, Edmonton, London, N18 1QX.

Successful candidates will work in partnership with the clinical team to facilitate discharge of children aged 0-12 years from the Emergency Department where the clinical presentation is not acute and can be managed at home by local services.  

“This role requires workers to have experience of holistic ways of working with families and young people. Including assessment, support, signposting and making referrals to appropriate services where needed. The successful applicant will be able to work as part of a team as well as on their own initiative and manage the pressures of working in both a busy emergency department and the community”

Some but not all of the key responsibilities are:

• Initial face-to face conversation or triage call to identify presenting issues and the level of intervention required.
• Delivering support flexibly and tailored to the needs of the family unit including telephone, virtual and face-to-face support and home visits where necessary. Contact with families could be a one-off or over weekly sessions based on level of need targeted. 
• Signposting to partner agencies, based on needs identified.
• Supporting families to navigate their way through referral pathways and enable them to access universal & targeted services.
• Where required advocating on behalf of families, supporting parents and carers to communicate with professional/Services.

The In Reach Hospital Emergency Department Family Support Programme model offers a robust way of supporting often vulnerable families to uncover and address unmet need. Through identifying the underlying factors causing the clinical presentation and attendance, and addressing holistic needs of the family unit, we hope activity to unscheduled, primary and emergency care is dramatically and sustainably reduced.

The model is based on Family Support Workers based within Children's Emergency Departments, offering holistic, family-oriented support in a flexible manner either in-person, telephone- based and home visits to be able to address the underlying causes of repeated / avoidable ED attendances.

*Although this contract has a permanent status, please be aware that this post is subject to funding currently to March 2025 and therefore should this funding not be extended further, you may be subject to a redundancy consultation or a TUPE arrangement.

** Please note the hours for this role will be required over a 5-day week and may be done in longer day shifts or with set times i.e. 8am to 4pm (to suit Emergency Department and community/family needs). The role can adopt flexible working arrangements to meet service and personal need but will NOT provide 24 hour provision in the ED settings. This can be discussed further at interview.

Regular giving at Alzheimer’s Society is growing year on year with an ambitious target of £8.5M for 2024/25. In this role you’ll get the opportunity to lead a high performing team of two, working across all regular giving campaigns including face to face fundraising, telemarketing, payroll giving, digital and SMS. You’ll provide strategic direction to the team and manage the significant expenditure budget, assessing and optimising spend to give the best value to Alzheimer’s Society and make the best investment to grow regular giving. 

There are lots of exciting projects coming up in regular giving including launching a test of door-to-door fundraising and our new Membership product which has shown great results in initial testing. You’ll also be building strong relationships with our new agency partners for 2024/25.

This role also gives the opportunity to network and work closely with teams across the organisation including data, events, supporter experience and procurement.

AAUK's Digital team within the Advocacy & Influencing department are seeking a Senior Digital Content Specialist. The purpose of the role will be to commission, plan, design, edit and publish content across all digital channels to increase reach and engagement with ActionAid audiences and to build ActionAid’s authority as a champion of women and girls. 

The post holder will create, manage and optimise integrated digital marketing campaigns across multiple channels to support all strategic objectives. This opportunity will allow the Senior Digital Content Specialist to lead on digital best practice, digital skills, tools and processes across the organisation, using their knowledge to influence ways of working and embed digital culture and lead on digital content planning and creation as part of project groups on cross-organisation integrated campaigns.

Women and Girls Network (WGN) was established in 1987 and has spent over 30 years supporting women and girls across London affected by gendered violence. This includes childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, rape, prostitution (including trafficking and sexual exploitation), female genital mutilation (FGM), and so-called 'honour' based crimes such as forced marriage.

We are now looking for looking for an experienced and dynamic Pan-London Specialist Housing Caseworker to join our highly successful Advice Casework Service.

About the role

The Advice Casework Service provides trauma-informed, intersectional, woman-centred, rights and strengths-based advocacy and advice that supports survivors on their unique journey of healing and growth. The work is delivered through a commitment to an anti-oppressive, feminist framework that strives to address additional barriers and meet the diverse range of survivors needs, understanding the specific support needs of each survivor. We are passionate about social justice and being part of dismantling systems and structures which oppress survivors, and Caseworkers play a key role in identifying current issues affecting survivors in London and opportunities for change.

As a Caseworker you will work with young women (18-30) who have experienced any form of violence against women and girls (VAWG), providing medium and long-term practical, emotional and advocacy support. You will amplify young women’s voices and create a non-judgemental and creative space where survivors are free to be their authentic selves, safely explore their rights, options and impact of their experiences, and make informed choices about their future. You will manage a caseload of young women, as well as lead in delivering our one-off drop-in specialist practical support to sessions to young women as part of the Voice and Choice Project.

About you

The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing specialist advocacy support to young people, have an excellent insight into the needs of survivors of VAWG and to be passionate about delivering creative face-to-face sessions to young people. If you have the required skills and are passionate about supporting survivors, we would love to hear from you.
