The Operations Administrator will work closely with the broader Operations team to provide centralised communication and administrative support, and effective coordination across all aspects of the work of the Operations team.

As this role is central to the work of the Operations team, the person will need to be proactive, organised, and able to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines. As well as being the key link between the Operations team and the Research and Communication teams, they will need to be able to work well with the wider organisation and provide excellent customer service to a variety of stakeholders globally. We are looking for a Senior Programmes Support (Maternity Cover) to join a talented team, passionate about working towards Action Against Hunger’s vision of a world free from hunger.

This is a key role that works across the Advocacy and Nutrition Departments. You’ll be providing financial, administrative and coordination support to the Programme Funding Team and Nutrition Department. You’ll support business development, identify funding opportunities, track our finances, monitor grant/contracts, and spot areas for improvement in all we do – with the independence to make those changes.You’ll also engage with other teams within Action Against Hunger UK (e.g. finance), Action Against Hunger’s International teams (country level, HQs) as well as other humanitarian organisations and agencies (e.g. UNICEF, WHO) as relevant.

UNISON is seeking a Human Resources Officer to work within the Human Resources and Staff Development team. This will be part of a job share, so we are looking for a job share partner.

About this job

The role of the Human Resource Officer is integral in progressing UNISON’s people management and wide HR strategic agenda. It will provide professional human resource and employee relations advice and support to UNISON’s managers on key areas such as case management, staff movement and recruitment, absence management and Occupational Health referrals, and general people matters.

The role will be responsible in providing support to managers in addressing performance, harassment, grievance and disciplinary matters effectively in line with current employment law, while also ensuring that staffing budgets are managed and maintained within the financial guidelines.

The successful person will have the ability to problem solve with a proactive approach to finding solutions and have the ability to advise and communicate effectively. They will have experience of operating in an environment where there is an active trade union representative and negotiate and consult on day to day issues.
