Job description

Join the General Osteopathic Council Audit Committee

Non-executive appointment of one independent lay member

We are looking for a new member to join our Audit Committee.

If you are passionate about strategic financial and risk management and have a record of achievement at a strategic level, please get in touch.

This is your opportunity to offer an independent perspective to the work of a modern, inclusive, and innovative healthcare regulator through the work of the GOsC Audit Committee. We consider diversity to be a strength. We wish to encourage applications from the widest possible field of candidates to help us reflect UK society. Note that this position is not open to osteopaths.

The role of the Audit Committee is to provide assurance that internal and external systems and processes are in place for identifying, managing, and mitigating the risks relating to the discharge of the GOsC’s statutory duties, and to make recommendations for any actions to Council and the Executive.

You would be expected to commit to attending Audit Committee meetings three times a year, usually for half a day each, with additional time required for reading meeting papers. You would be paid £306 a day, including reading and preparation time. We pay reasonable travel and subsistence expenses which are incurred as part of this role. Appointment starts on 1 April 2022 (initially for up to four years).

For further information and to apply, please visit our website via the apply button.

Closing date: 11.30am on Tuesday 12 October 2021

The General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) is the UK-wide statutory body established by the Osteopaths Act 1993 to regulate and develop the osteopathic profession and ensure public protection.
