We are seeking to appoint a talented and committed individual to the role of Front of House / Office Administrator to work within our busy, public-facing front office. The varied role forms an integral part of the GXCA central team and combines customer service responsibilities with a range of day-to-day administrative functions, including some finance and communication related duties. 

Responsibilities include: 

• Being the first point of contact for the public, dealing with enquiries via phone, email and in person. 

• Administration of our hall hire booking system and ensuring all customers have an excellent facility hire experience at GXCA. 

• Supporting our range of community and fundraising events, acting as a strong ambassador for the charity and our work. 

•  A number of finance-related duties, including issuing invoices. 

• Occasional social media and other communication assistance 

• Occasional cover for cafe duties and food preparation

The working rota for this role is 25 hours per week 8am - 4:45pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Westminster:

Joining our team in Westminster, the role is key in ensuring that everyone feels welcome and included in the service creating a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for our clients. The Kean Street hub is located in Aldwych and supports clients with high supported needs, with two low supported accommodation services in Oxford Circus. 

The working rota for this role is 37.5 hours per week 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Local Groups, Community and Legacy Engagement Officer to join our Supporter Experience Team in London. This role is responsible for supporting the charity's local groups and community fundraisers around the UK in raising funds and awareness of the work of Freedom from Torture. As an apprentice, you will work within a parish to develop and strengthen its children and youth ministry while studying with Ridley London. This three-year apprenticeship leads to a Certificate in Higher Education (Level 4) in Foundations in Theology, Ministry and Mission, with a focus on youth and children’s work.

You’ll be employed for 21 hours per week, spending 16 hours in the parish and 5 hours studying.

About the Role

As a Philanthropy Executive, you’ll be at the heart of the team, providing vital coordination and administrative support to help us engage and steward our generous supporters. You’ll work across Major Gifts, Trusts and Foundations, and Stewardship and Communications, ensuring our donors receive an exceptional experience. This role is perfect for someone proactive, highly organised, and keen to build a career in Major Gifts fundraising.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Supporting the creation of compelling proposals, reports and thank-you communications
• Coordinating donor events, hospital tours and bespoke experiences
• Producing high-quality digital and print communications using InDesign
• Maintaining accurate donor records and supporting income processing
• Liaising with colleagues across the Charity and hospital to deliver impactful stewardship

We’re looking for someone who can bring:

• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
• A proactive, can-do attitude and great attention to detail
• Strong organisational and project management abilities
• Experience managing multiple tasks and deadlines
• Previous experience in an administrative, fundraising or supporter care role
• Proficiency in databases and Excel (experience with Raiser’s Edge is a plus)

The primary purpose of this role is to provide debt advice and money education on a case management basis and to support the provision of advice by volunteers. The post holder will be expected to manage their own cases and lead appointment sessions.

Ideally we are looking for someone with prior debt or social welfare experience, and who has experience of working with and supporting volunteers. However we will also consider employing someone as a trainee adviser if you are able to demonstrate that you possess the skills, maturity and determination to become proficient in this role. 

The role will be based in one of our branches in west London, but hybrid and remote options will be considered for the right candidate.

The Bookkeeper plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with financial reporting, audit preparation, and supporting senior management in overseeing budgets, payroll, and compliance.

We are recruiting a Cattery Carer & Cat Foster Coordinator who will share our compassion and commitment for animal welfare.

Working with staff and volunteers across the Home, you will have a hand in helping all the cats in our care, from feeding, cleaning, behaviourally assessing and socialising to rehoming. You will be responsible for organising cats in our care going into temporary foster homes. This can be physically and emotionally demanding but is also hugely rewarding; you can view some of our amazing rescue stories here.

Generally, you will:

• Assist in the provision of treatment to cats as advised by our veterinary staff.
• Organise the cat foster programme, matching suitable cats with cat foster volunteers and advise on cat behaviour.
• Organise the cat intake list, providing owners with advice and where appropriate admitting cats into the Cattery.
• Assist the Cat Adoption Officer with rehoming the cats under our care.
• Work flexibly in a team environment, often independently, to meet the specific needs of  the cats in our care by helping with their feeding, cleaning, enrichment and grooming.

To be successful in this role, you need:

– A strong understanding of cat behaviour and welfare

– Excellent customer service skills

– Experience in handling cats and caring for them

– A calm, compassionate, resilient and friendly manner
