This is a key role at NFF designing, delivering and reviewing our Training Programs and ensuring continuous improvement for our staff. This role will also develop an external training program for delivery to our partners and clients

Responsibilities

· Design & Implement Staff Training Programs: Develop training modules for staff in areas such as health and safety, safety protocols, customer service, and leadership development.

· Training Delivery: Facilitate engaging, effective, and interactive training sessions for various teams, using a mix of in-person and digital delivery methods.

· Training Needs Analysis: Collaborate with Leadership Teams to identify specific training needs, evaluate employee skill gaps, and create tailored training solutions to address them.

· Performance Measurement: Develop metrics and evaluation tools to measure the effectiveness of training programs, reporting findings to management and adjusting programs as needed.

· Resource Development: Create and update training materials, guides, and documentation to ensure consistency and high quality in content delivery.

· New Starter Journey: Review, design and deliver new starter training programmes to ensure Project Officers have the best possible start at NFF, incorporating culture, leadership and knowledge

· External Training Development: Design and deliver specialist training to our partners and clients, ensuring adherence to industry safety standards and practices

· Continuous Improvement: stay up to date with industry best practice, new technologies and new flood-related practices to be incorporated into training materials

 Day-to-Day Activities

· You will line manage an Administrative Co-ordinator who has partial responsibilities for Training delivery and support them with their workstreams and development

• Liaise and develop relationships with stakeholders to identify training needs and develop training processes to support them
• Support Senior Management Team to build income streams and develop new activity, working to support and deliver NFF strategy
• Providing information and case studies for communications and advocacy work

About the role

This role sits within The Passage Housing Needs Service (HNS) team. It will provide brief interventions to support individuals who have been placed into accommodation by the HNS team to settle into and sustain their tenancies. The post holder will work holistically to assist individuals to address issues that are impacting on their ability to sustain their accommodation on a time limited basis and will link them into services in their local areas for ongoing support in order for them to gain independence and integrate into their new communities.

Main duties

• To provide support to individuals who are moving into their new private rented sector accommodation where appropriate and needed. This can include setting up utilities, council tax among other things.
• To establish and develop positive and constructive working relationships with a range of services and agencies across London boroughs that can provide support to our clients ensuring the best possible outcomes for them.
• To assess any risk to clients, the environment and staff, record and communicate any risks identified using appropriate channels in the Passage.
• To ensure accurate and timely record keeping using the Inform database as well as client files and ensure all record keeping and information sharing is kept securely in line with Data protection.
• Support HNS Workers to complete exit questionnaires to gather feedback and promote co production with the individuals the team supports.
• To draw up psychologically informed action plans for clients ensuring they are person centered and taking into consideration the clients’ views.

Key responsibilities

• In conjunction with your Housing Needs Service Coordinator to continuously develop the role to ensure that all tasks are being undertaken in an effective and appropriate manner which meets the strategic aims and objectives of The Passage.
• To participate in internal/external meetings as required, attend training events, conferences and other functions as necessary.
• To participate in regular supervision and annual appraisal, and help in identifying your own job-related development and training needs.

Operations Officer (Internal role names: Scheduler, Response Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator)
 

Time: 2.5 days per week (20 hours). Monday is an essential working day, the rest of the time can be worked flexibly within business hours.

As Scheduler, you’ll help allocate new client referrals to our team of practitioners and coordinate smooth handovers between team members. You’ll work closely with the Scheduling Lead and wider operations team to ensure efficiency and continuity of care.

In the Response Coordinator role, you'll manage all incoming enquiries via phone and email, ensuring timely responses and directing queries to the appropriate team member.

As Volunteer and Placement Coordinator, you’ll oversee the onboarding of volunteers and Music Therapy student placements, matching individuals to suitable settings, and handling DBS checks and references.

You’ll also contribute to ongoing improvements by sharing feedback and insights from your role to support the development of internal systems and processes.

Accountabilities

This role involves a range of duties that may vary week to week. Key responsibilities include:

• Responding promptly to general enquiries from individuals and organisations via phone and email

• Supporting the scheduling team with new referrals, service contracts, and opportunities, including liaising with Music Therapists and Community Musicians

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in our CRM system (Salesforce or similar experience is desirable), including logging communications and key information

Person specification

We are looking for a highly organised, efficient individual who can work independently and take initiative when needed. The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy and sensitivity in all communications, with a warm and supportive telephone manner and the ability to write clear, compassionate email responses to clients and referrers.

Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach are essential, as this role involves close interaction with colleagues across the team. An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, music therapy and the experiences of our clients is important.

Confidence using digital tools and systems is essential, as the role involves working with a range of platforms to support service delivery and coordination.

Job Purpose: 

Volunteering Matters are partnering with Active Suffolk to recruit  6 Community Connectors to work in the following areas of Ipswich: 

• 2 x Whitton 

• 1 x Gainsborough

• 1 x Belstead Hills 

The ideal candidates will have strong local knowledge of the area and preferably, live within the community they are assigned to. In this role, you will have conversations with local residents (aged 18+) to capture lived experience around barriers, motivations, perceptions of being physically active in the local community. You must be a confident communicator and able to work off your own initiative.

The information collected will be shared with project partners and local stakeholders to guide further learning and community development, with the goal of securing future funding for further investment in these areas. 

Responsibilities 

• Identify, plan and create opportunities to have conversations with local residents around being physically active in the local community

• Identify community needs – gather information from local residents on what they value the most, the challenges they face, and what services or initiatives could benefit them. This could be done through informal conversations, community meetings, surveys 

• Share ideas with the local community and project partners/ stakeholders 

• Signpost to information and support for residents wanting to get more involved with their local community 

• Build relationships and networks locally to promote and create opportunities for conversations. 

• Conduct conversations safely and effectively in a range of settings (eg cafes, outside local schools, community events etc) to reach a diverse range of local residents

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Global Safeguarding Team as our Senior Global Safeguarding Specialist reporting to the Global Safeguarding Director. This is a senior role in the team and will play a key part in managing and supervising safeguarding cases and investigations, as well as providing proactive support and guidance to Members and Country Programmes on a range of safeguarding topics. The role involves a considerable about of proactive prevention work such as designing and facilitating training and resources for a range of audiences (Boards, staff groups, volunteers, communities). The role involves organisation and facilitation of large-scale events and management of the Safeguarding Focal Point Network. This role supports the Global Safeguarding Director in implementing safeguarding policies and standards and works closely to deliver core safeguarding projects across the federation. The team is supported by a Global Safeguarding Co-Ordinator for whom this role line manages, a Global Safeguarding Adviser and a Community Safeguarding Engagement Adviser.

In this role you’ll also: 

• Lead and Co-lead safeguarding support country programme / member visits.
• Maintain and update core safeguarding policies and standards as and when required.
• Actively engage with external safeguarding networks to ensure WaterAid continues to contribute to improve sector safeguarding standards and engages in relevant sector initiatives.
• Monitor compliance with global safeguarding standards in relation to core performance indicators.

Requirements

To be successful, you’ll need: 

• Proven track record of working in a safeguarding environment with significant case management experience of at least 5 years.
• Significant experience in conducting safeguarding investigations and risk-based interviewing.
• Experience of report writing skills, including risk assessments and risk management report writing.
• Technical knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and protection principles and standards.
• Understanding and knowledge of applying a trauma survivor centred approach
• Experience of working with vulnerable groups such as young people and vulnerable communities.
• Knowledge of UK and globally relevant safeguarding legislation and guidance.

Bereavement Support Services Lead (Digital). This is a rewarding and key role in the Bereavement Support Services team. The team provides a wide range of services, including the Helpline, Online Community, memory making, and print materials. The aim of this post is to provide operational and line management so that the BSS team can provide consistent, high-quality emotional support to bereaved families who seek support from Sands, as well as supervising the work of the Bereavement Support Officers on the frontline. As our digital support continues to grow and develop, we are looking for someone to support and inspire the team in this expanding area, working closely with Sands’ Bereavement Support Digital Coordinator. The Bereavement Support Services Team offers 1-2-1 support via telephone, email and other digital channels, and is usually open from 10-3 from Monday to Friday and 6-9pm from Tuesday to Thursday with occasional extended opening hours. Support is also available through digital channels; our Online Community, direct messenger on Instagram and Facebook and various closed groups on Facebook which need to be regularly monitored and moderated to provide a safe, user-led space accessible to all. In future a wider range of channels may be used. There are three Bereavement Support Leads (BSLs) including this post holder, and between them they are expected to cover all regular opening hours on a rota basis. With at least two years’ management experience within a finance function, the Finance Manager is required to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to enable collaboration with all areas of the business to ensure accurate processes are in place including the sharing of data through manual or automated integration.

• Formal accountancy qualification (eg. ACCA, CIMA)
• Advanced understanding of accounting principles and practices 
• Previous experience of managing a finance team and carrying out performance reviews
