The role is full time (36.25 hours per week) permanent and home based with regular visits to stores across Northern Ireland. The ideal candidate should live within this area or a commutable distance.

What You'll Be Doing: 

As Area Business Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall performance of a portfolio of retail stores. Your focus will be on: 

• Maximising sales, profit and income through strategic store management 
• Requirements to visit stores on a regular basis 
• Leading and inspiring store managers to deliver exceptional customer service and strong commercial results 
• Ensuring consistent operational standards across all locations 
• Managing budgets, KPIs, staffing, merchandising and compliance 
• Identifying opportunities to improve performance, grow revenue, and optimise the retail estate 

Previous multi-site retail experience is essential and an understanding of the charity sector preferable but not essential.

About the work

We are an Arts Council England Investment Principles Support Organisation. Our members are leaders in children and young people’s public libraries and schools library services (SLS). 

The Development and Delivery Manager (Projects) is a new role for the charity. You will work with a small and growing team, who are passionate about our mission and vision. You will also work with our members (leaders of children’s public library and School Library Service leaders) and sector partners.

You will build on your policy experience, responding to and shaping policy to ensure it drives real change for people affected by bowel cancer. You will turn complex issues into clear, actionable insight for colleagues, partners, and decision-makers, and contribute to evidence-informed positions that support the charity in influencing health policy. You will also lead on your own policy areas and work closely with our bowel cancer community to ensure their experiences inform and shape our work.

Qualifications and Experience

• We welcome applicants from a broad range of experience and background, specifically spanning policy, science or health
• Some direct experience of working on policy issues in health, or a relevant sector, and a willingness to develop these skills further, alongside an interest in those issues affecting bowel cancer patients.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

The Community Events Executive will play a key role in delivering our Community Fundraising strategy. Working closely with the Senior Fundraising Executive - Community & Events, this role will oversee the planning, delivery and growth of community-focused fundraising activity across a range of channels. The postholder will manage a portfolio of community fundraising products and partnerships, tailored to engage specific audience groups and will be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with supporters, Community Champions and volunteers at a local level to maximise engagement, participation, and income.
