As a Senior Event Planner, you will be a key member of their experienced and dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in converting high-revenue business opportunities and planning and coordinating both physical and hybrid events. Your efforts will help maximise income and fill unsold spaces which support our revenue targets. You will also drive high performance and engagement within the team by deputising for the diary/revenue and team managers as needed, and by supervising the commercial planning team to ensure best practices and change initiatives are implemented.
In addition to managing your own events, you will support the sales team by planning and coordinating events converted from new prospective clients with high revenue potential. Your role will involve maintaining and developing high-value key accounts, networking with existing clients, and engaging with past users to generate future business and develop new leads. A strong commercial awareness of profitable business and current industry trends is essential.
Responsibilities include:
- Liaising with customers from the initial enquiry stage, right through the customer journey to post event follow up including for physical, hybrid and virtual events.
- Arranging and conducting client venue visits, handling enquiries and following up with detailed proposals.
- Demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of the product, pricing and packages on offer,
- Demonstrating commercial awareness in order to successfully negotiate with customers to win their business.
- Participating in site visits, handling enquiries and taking ownership of large revenue events, as directed by the Business Development Manager.
- Ensuring the successful delivery of events, by communicating, coordinating and compiling event details and liaising with the event operations and front of house teams.
- Preparation and processing of accurate deposits and invoices.
- Generating and reporting on activities as required.
- Yield management, ensuring up to date activities and maintenance of accounts in the CRM system.
- Creating and managing Key Account plans.
- Delivering a consistently high level of customer service.
Experience
- Educated to A-level, or equivalent business or event management qualification.
- Demonstrate relevant experience in Event Planning and Coordination with the skills, knowledge and commercial understanding required for the role.
- Working in a direct planning role within the hospitality/events industry specialising in conferences, meetings, dining and events, with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
- Being commercially aware of finance, budget management and working in a profitable business.
- Having knowledge of food and beverage in the context of the hospitality and events industry.
- Ability to prioritise your own workload and completing tasks with a high level of accuracy.

The charity offers a flexible working environment, with hybrid working 2-3 days per week from their offices. Northamptonshire Health Charity has 2 offices, one in Northampton adjacent to Northampton General Hospital, and one in Kettering on the Kettering General Hospital site.
As Senior Legacy & In-Memory Officer, you will help to shape a brand-new area of strategic growth for Northamptonshire Health Charity. This is a unique opportunity to support in building our legacy giving and in-memory fundraising programmes from the ground up. You’ll work alongside the Head of Fundraising to create meaningful pathways for supporters to leave a lasting impact, whether through gifts in Wills or by celebrating and honouring their loved ones.
You’ll help to implement campaigns, supporter journeys, and events like Make a Will Month, while nurturing relationships with donors, families, and NHS staff. You’ll also work on growing the use and income of our online tribute platform, MuchLoved.
Key Responsibilities:
· Contribute to the design and delivery of a compelling legacy fundraising programme, building a strong and sustainable legacy pipeline.
· Help to develop in-memory fundraising strategy and supporter journeys, with the aim of increasing income through tribute funds.
· Day-to-day management and promotion of their MuchLoved tribute platform, ensuring families receive exceptional support and the tool is well utilised.
· Collaborate closely with the fundraising and marketing teams to integrate legacy and in-memory giving across campaigns and communications.
· Provide thoughtful, compassionate stewardship to all legacy and in-memory supporters, recognising their generosity with care and respect.
Person Specification:
· Experience in fundraising or a sector relevant to the role (e.g., financial planning, legal services, bereavement support), with an understanding of legacy and in-memory giving and the ability to build trusted, empathetic relationships.
· Awareness of legacy fundraising principles, with a willingness to develop a legacy pipeline and supporter journey strategy with support and guidance.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, sensitive, and engaging content for supporters.
· Good interpersonal skills, with the confidence and empathy to connect with donors, families, and professional contacts in a respectful and compassionate way.
· Experience supporting or delivering fundraising activity, ideally including events, tribute funds, or in-memory giving, or a demonstrable interest in developing in this area.
· Well-organised and able to manage multiple priorities, with a proactive attitude and good attention to detail.

At Northampton Students’ Union, our Sports Development Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enriching the student experience through sport. By overseeing over 35 free-to-join sports clubs, they ensure inclusivity and accessibility for all students, regardless of background or ability. Their responsibilities include managing sports programming, coordinating events like Varsity and Sports Awards, and fostering relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. By supporting student-led initiatives and promoting participation, the Sports Development Coordinator helps create a vibrant, active campus community.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Book internal and external facilities for training and fixtures. Ensure that the clubs use suitable facilities of an appropriate standard, while following SU procedures and maintaining good relationships with the facility provider.
- Operational responsibility for all SU affiliated sports activity, including approving risk assessment and dealing with all accident reports for sports clubs.
- To ensure that appropriate process is followed when disciplinary issues occur with Sports Clubs.
- To lead on Sports Awards and Varsity, to ensure a safe and relevant event is delivered.
- To feed into the budget-setting process, and be responsible for spending the Sports budget, following financial processes accordingly.
- To support all sports club volunteers in the development and delivery of their activities and events.
- Responsible for the growth and development of new sports and developing processes that enable students to either set up new activities or expand current activities.

- Develop systems that empowers students to take ownership of setting up new activities or expand current activities.
- Alongside an elected officer, represent Northampton Students’ Union at all BUCS regional meetings, ensuring that we are updated on University Sport development.
- To support clubs with the recruitment of all paid and volunteer coaches, and ensuring they adhere to the Coaches Code of Conduct and other supporting documents.
- Pro-actively encourage student sports leaders to record and reflect on their skill development.
- Manage and provide mentorship for the Sports Administrator and any other student staff roles working within Sport at the Union.

The role
Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: Full-Time (35 hrs per week)
Place of work: Hybrid, with a requirement to attend the office in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, once a month and 4 times a year for our mandatory All Staff Together days.

Our location
We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home, although there will be occasions when you will need to attend face-to-face meetings with, donors, your team, our partner agencies, or several team away-days each year. In addition, the charity meets four times a year at its office in Hatfield (or a location in London) for our mandatory ‘All Staff Together’ days.
